Rush is in a bad situation that is for sure.

Rush: Can you turn invisible another time? That would sure help, I'd think.

I cannot. I already asked GM Nayr how long we'd been on the ship and he ruled that it had been over 3 minutes, which uses up all my invisibility. So I have to hope I can get away from the bad guys okay. Or have Sandra heal me. (hint hint, wink wink)

Ahh I see. I misunderstood. I had thought you could do it x times a day, but not have a time limit. Good luck!

Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5

Thanks. I may not get Rush to Storm Warden after all.

I just checked on the map.
Just a FYI, that I am sure would have been shared with Rush before the fight.

Owlbear is blind in one eye. You can avoid a successful aoo from him with an acrobat roll with decent odds of success. That is, if you want all the way out of the room...

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

jack is flanking kipper, so +2. but tilly is all alone. and moving up to attack scourge would put me in very awkward position indeed. ):

is tilly free to move? perhaps retreat to my corner?

Tilly will be able to move after Rush is off of her, yes. Rush, we'll go with prone...better for you in the long run. Plugg will get a single Aoo, but you'll beat Scourge's CMD with your acrobatics.

Cross your fingers...

Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5

The 8 damage leaves me staggered, but still let's me get the healing spell off, fixing not only some of the actual damage, but the nonlethal as well. Rush is still moving.

That was a lot to write!

Lol...heck yeah...let me know if I missed anything - totally possible in this one

Thanks Jack, missed that. Her attack would have missed anyway, so we'll ignore the dagger for this round. Next round though...

Nice Jack, that's a solid hit

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

did Belliot do anything last turn?

Ha! Told you I'd do that....sucks trying to work and post at the same time

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

np!

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

I think Belliot has an unreasonable fear of snakes. so he might have just hung back a turn. (:

Hehe...yeah, that's it

ugg. sorry about posting as Sub in the game thread.

Rush has that wand though, right?

If you mean the summon nature’s ally, then yes he does.

Ah. The Kerruk must have cast it as a spell. I got confused.

Stirges. Excellent. Maybe next time you'd get more...but getting those guys grappled would be awesome.

I added an image for the stirge, if you dont mind Rush

Thanks Sub

7 Damage to Kerruk, 16 damage to Plugg and 19 damage to Kipper that round.

Did Tap's arrows hit Kipper? That damage total doesn't seem like it includes his arrows.

Yes, mistyped - 31 total damage to Kipper that round. 14 from your arrows and 19 from Jack. I did write out the arrow hits in the flavor text, I think.

Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5

I just learned why the GM doesn’t bot pc who can’t make it. Half the fight is in one post....but at least it goes faster.

Lol, yup...that takes a big chunk of time to write up

Just a head's up guys - I have a business trip next Tues - Fri. I'll try and keep up, but will be doing so by my phone, so maps and details will be a bit lacking.

Thanks!

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

oh great. a moral dilemma

Well, when I can't get ya with the blade...

plus 1 to Jack's panache for which kill?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

+1 for confirmed crit. kipper's surrender deprived jack of an immediate kill. not that jack minds killing an enemy, but he's not particularly bloodthirsty. chaotic neutral. its as the mood strikes him.

Oh thats right. the confirmed crit. silly me.

I was curious about the rules so I checked.

Killing Blow with a Light or One-Handed Piercing Melee Weapon: When the swashbuckler reduces a creature to 0 or fewer hit points with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon attack while in combat, she regains 1 panache point. Destroying an unattended object, reducing a helpless or unaware creature to 0 or fewer hit points, or reducing a creature that has fewer Hit Dice than half the swashbuckler’s character level to 0 or fewer hit points doesn’t restore any panache.

I think kipper was reduced to zero hp...hence GM saying that he'd surely die without intervention. So I think you got two panache points back.

he he. I think healing then killing him again after healing him with a few hp for more panache would be rule bending strategy that a GM would hate, and would kind of put you on the side of evil.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

ha!

won't do that. but i'll take +2 panache. though seriously, i think this thing might just about be over.

Sure thing Rush, from left to right: plugg, kipper, scourge

Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5

So here is my suggestion. We all group up near the door, and then either:
1) Have Kerruk cast color spray and hope he fails his will save
AND/OR
2) Try to convince him that if he gives up we will give him a swift death, if he kills her then we will make it very painful.

Everyone’s thoughts?

Something along those lines:

Attacking lines:

1. Jack makes an intimidation roll. talking mean. That might get the captain a -2 on will saves.

2. Tap casts cacophonony (causes nausea for 4 rounds). Nausea means you can't do anything but a move action, I believe. DC 15.

3. Kerruk casts color spray hoping for a stun.

or we could try:

Negotiating lines:

We offer him his life and a row boat for Tilly's life. He can go live on the island. Scourge dies though.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

DM, what would it look like if I were to persuade him to try his luck with a game of chance? I'm thinking something like, he wins, he goes free with a boat and supplies for 10 days and a small sack of gold. He loses, he is keelhauled, and if he survives, can join the crew on deck.

Game of chance is each rolls 1d20. Whoever has higher roll wins. Best of 5.

(p.s. Jack is a lucky guy.)

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Or same offer, but he grease wrestles Belliot

Lol...I like it. To be honest, Plugg would go with either of those if he believed you'd actually follow through with the promise - you are all pirates, after all. Would you offer the same to Scourge?

Other pirate gambling:
Arm wrestling (some times with additions like broken glass or caltrops)
Hog lob (hurling a greased ingot across the deck)
Heave (drinking game)

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Jack is not so inclined to let Scourge off. Its personal.

Here is what I'm thinking. Plugg can go. But he has to earn his food playing some of these pirate games.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Look, I think that there is something we are missing about this situation. Plugg and Captain Harrigan had a plan. I'd like to know what it is. Plugg needs to be interrogated.

Does anyone (Kerruk?) have a charm spell handy?

Offer Plugg the boat, but say he has to compete to get water, food, and gold (in that order). Three contests. Arm Wrestling with Belliot. Hog lobbing with Jack. and Heaving with Tap. (in that order).

I say, we break open a few kegs of rum, and have ourselves a Pirate Olympics. Competitve Keel Hauling anyone?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Anyway, once the hostage situation is over, and the pirates have had their fun, we can capture Plugg and throw him into the brigg.

Hi, struggling with character creation. I have the character concept worked out... I'm following along here while trying to get the stats fleshed out... Correctly.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Hi sunyata! Great, keep us posted on your progress and feel free to ask any questions. Whenever you have a concept worked out, we can start solo RPing to get you up to speed.you won't need to have all of the stats worked out that early.

I'm almost ready!

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

I forget. How did we do stat points, GM Nayr?

20 point standard buy

ha I thought we had a new player Sphen.

and nwo i'd say that Rush can be pretty creepy.

Now that's pirate diplomacy!

Question is, does Jack want to be the one to kill scourge?

Rush is having some attitude changes with his current situation. It'll culminate soon.

Also, just a heads up to everyone. I'll be attending a local CON this weekend, so I'll be offline from Friday till Sunday. Feel free to bot me. I haven't used any spells, and only my invisibility. All wands are updated with current charges on the loot sheet (which is awesome, by the way, super handy). As of this post, anyhow. I'll still be on tomorrow.
