I wonder if you fine folks could give me some advice. The next SFS scenario I'm looking to play or run is # 2-14, Data Purge. It's a Tier 9-12, and there's only three of us in my local group that have characters of that level. Because the Iconics only go up to Level 8, we don't have a way to fill the fourth spot (we have some other players, but they're pretty new and only have PCs in the level 1 or 2 range.) I don't suppose it'd be possible to have the players without high enough level characters play Level 8 pre-gens for no credit just to round out the table (assuming everyone with PCs in the range knew and agreed it'd be a touch harder than it should be)?

I would normally just run the game here via PBP, but I've noticed some difficulty getting tables to fire in the past year, and the inability to run pre-gens would exacerbate the problem.

Happy to take any ideas on board. Thanks!

As Bigboom indicated, the guide says:

Adventures with a minimum level of 9 or higher: can be run with only 3 players, but only if all players at the table agree. While we expect this “hard mode” playthrough experience to be satisfying, we want to caution you that, as the adventures are designed for a minimum of four players, they will be more difficult than normal.

It goes on to allow someone to replay for no credit to make a table feasible. Unfortunately, as Redelia mentioned, the idea of using the lower level pregens is not covered, thus is not currently allowed. This is something we could take to the leadership team for consideration.

If your group enjoys PbP, I agree that posting it here to try to recruit one or more players is a good idea. If it doesn't work out, then you have the 3 player option.

I’ll put it this way.

If Paizo genuinely recognized that their perspective with respect to trans rights was wrong, then utilizing a law firm is really the only credible way of addressing the issue. The law firm would then be dedicated to helping them develop processes And procedures to help protect them from allegations of bigotry in the future.

As a secondary observation, Google reviews are worthless in assessing law firms. Big law firms don’t care about them, and their clients aren’t going to rate them. So all you are going to see are the “exceptions”, not the rule.

It wasn't just google reviews we looked at, it was the firm's own description of their fields of expertise. Paizo leadership stated that they were contracted because, and I quote:

The Blog Post above wrote:
We chose MH&H upon the recommendation of a consultant with expertise in matters of DEIB. MH&H has a team of attorneys that specialize in these issues, and we’re confident they’ll be able to provide an impartial analysis of the facts that we need to move forward with any corrective actions.

Now here is the lawfirm's page discussing their practice areas. Do you see DEIB anywhere on that list? I sure don't. Nor any variation of it, no diversity, no equity, no inclusion, no belonging. Now what I do see are:

Closely-Held/Family Business Practice Group
Dispute Resolution
Employment
Litigation

That seems to me like Paizo leadership was not actually expecting us to click the link, and to take their word on whether or not this firm specializes in what the blog post claims they do. Which seems immensely silly, since one of the prime things about this whole debacle is that Paizo leadership has broken the trust of the community almost irrevocably at this point, and this only makes that worse.

I am not suggesting that the rest of their blurb fills me with confidence, but under the Employment section they do have

"Accordingly, the firm regularly counsels clients on how to avoid problems and minimize risk with respect to such issues as employee discipline, alleged harassment, the protection of trade secrets, reductions in force, severance and other matters."

This and their dispute resolution team imply they have some experience in these matters and were recommended by an outside consultant.

While I have no high expectations, I do hope for the best and wait to see how I can best continue to support those I care about within the company, those who do the work and provide the products and services I value.

A friendly reminder that Gameday X is scheduled to end 15 November. All games, even those still in progress, should be reported by the end date. Games that are not reported on time will not be included in the gift voucher lottery.

Just snagged the last spot.
I have no idea who I will bring. I see, now I look, plans for a L3 Operative and a L4 Mechanic. If we are playing up, I think my only choice is my L3 Envoy, otherwise it will likely be L1 someone.

Huzzah!

I'm already signed up for your next Perplexity instalment and SFS 3-07 at SkålCon. Should be a lot of fun, as usual, even though I will miss seeing folk in person.

So, who do you want in the group, fellow players, cleric or swashbuckler?

While a little disappointed there is only one female in the group, these still grab my interest. Thanks for the preview.

I also see no reason to reduce the benefit of the boon due to slow track. If a player has it slotted and has met all the requirements, I would give them the full benefit.

I'm sorry to bother you guys with this, but I have had an on-going problem with our local Venture Agent. The problem is he hasn't reported any missions since June or July of last year. I know and understand that he had some medical issues late last year, however with this viral outbreak our local game store where we would meet and play has been closed, so he's had several months to at least do some of the reporting. When I approach him about this he acts upset & tells me he'll get to it when he can. Because I know I can naturally (and without trying) be irritating to some people, I've asked others(including the store's owner) to talk to him about it in the hopes of getting better results. This has been to no avail. With the upcoming achievement point system, these missions, which are both first and second edition, must be reported. It would also be nice to officially be a four star and one glyph GM. If anyone has any ideas for what I can do or who I can contact about this, I would appreciate your assistance.

It sounds like you have gone through step one, contacting the VA involved.

The next step would be to contact your VL and/or VC as they may be able to provide the VA with any support they need or collect the information to report the games themself.

If you really have no joy, then sending a clear scan or photo of the relevant chronicle sheets to organizedplay@paizo.com with an explanation of the situation and a polite request for assistance would be what I suggest. Be aware that with Gen Con Online looming, the Organized Play team are likely to be busy.

I hope you can sort it all out soon.

Somebody may want to correct the first line to A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-4.

Low priority but worth noting.

Wishing you all the best for the future, Amanda. Thank you for all you have given to our Paizo community and for the work you have done to bring us some excellent products.

I hope to once again sit down to a game with you at some future convention when it is safe to do so.

I am not familiar with Discord. Is there a way you can link that quote from Tonya for us who do not frequent the servers.

As a VA you should have received an invite after you signed the NDA. Have you signed it?

If you have seen it you need to contact you VC or RVC.

I received the NDA in my downloads. I downloaded and reviewed it. I do not recall any instruction to sign it. However, it has been a couple of years now, and I doubt it is still in my emails. And I definitely do not recall an invite coming afterwards.

New NDAs are in the process of going out to all VOs. They have not completed the list yet but are working through it and sending invites to the official Discord server once they have the signed document.

Keep a eye out for the invitation. You will also need a code from your RVC.

I am hoping that if they need to cancel the physical con, which at this time looks, unfortunately, likely, that they will be able to move much of it online. Many of the talks, panels, and presentations could be done via Twitch. Many of the games played online.

I would miss seeing and chatting with friends, and virtual hugs are just not the same, but there is a large supportive community that Paizo could tap into to help them if needed.

I hope they are considering their options already.

Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.

If Closet or anyone else has issues within any of the Organized Play online lodges or games, please feel free to contact one or more of the Online VOs with specifics.

We all want these forums to be a safe and welcoming community and game space.

We may seem a little distracted and busy at the moment as we try our best to welcome and support an influx of new members and to support other lodges moving their games online during the current health crisis. We still very much care about our regulars, so please speak up if you need or want our assistance.

I'd also ask our regulars to be aware that there may be a higher than usual ratio of new players or new to PbP players finding us and I ask your assistance in welcoming and supporting them.

I'd be happy to run a low tier PFS1 and/or PFS2 (or SFS) for you at Norwescon in early April.

It is held at the same hotel as Paizocon.

Thank you to all who have stepped into these roles. Your hard work is much appreciated.

Taraka - for this weekend, I think your only option will be to play a 4th level Pregen.

Are you on [url=http://nwpfs.org/]nwpfs.org[/ulr]? Posting there in the forums would likely garner you more local assistance. PFS1 is still being played in the area and if there are requests for low-level games, I am sure people will step forward to GM/play. Most new players are going into PFS2 though.

There are some great modules that can be played through for faster advancement.

Let me know if you need help contacting someone there. I was hoping to come up for the day but realised in conflicted with a convention I am attending here in CA.

It was a delight to play in this group. Thank you GM Steinkrug for running each of these quests. I'd play with you again any day.

I do hope you have enjoyed your prolonged introduction to PbP GMing.
