Shae seems lost in a trance during the story. To the others, it seems she isn't paying any attention at all, but in her head, her thoughts are a swirling mass of sorrow and memory. Memories of her mother, telling her stories like this in the orchard outside her family's monastery. Memories of playing in the forest, and finding animal trails and following them until the sun set. Memories of her childhood innocence, of times before her family was destroyed, and she turned away from the gods of nature, and found the promise of vengeance that Shevarash offered. Her face turns dark, then, as her mind replays the day she found the bodies of everyone she loved scattered around the monastery, murdered by drow. The memory of walking into her parent's bedroom, and finding them dead, her mother still clutching her staff, the same staff that Shae still wields. She abruptly shakes herself out of her thoughts as the story comes to an end, and stands.

Try sending him a PM if you haven’t already man. Sometimes paizo threads will stop notifying you that you have a new post. He’s may have just not checked it because it hasn’t told him to. I’ve had players do the same on here though, when I was running online pfs. Usually it’s overcommitment. They’ll join 10+ games and realize they don’t have the time to keep up with them all, and some fall to the side.

Its all good, Gorum is the one coming to save the damsel in distress, I just had a chuckle at the mental image of everyone chucking the orbs into the ocean while Shae is just out in the corner. Yakity sax was playing in the background and it was an epic mental image :p

Look here, every single one of these paintings have this brooch in them...wasn’t this in the Zhent Ghettos mural as well? I remember it being the Wave and Wink portrait of Tiega Gos, worn by her image for sure... What if this is the key?

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I took my girlfriend to Disney for her birthday, and during the firework show I proposed to her, so now she's my finace! Anyway, lets get this gameplay going. :)
Hey everyone! Just a heads up on the slight delay in my games. Me and the kids all came down with some kind of summer cold, and it put me behind a little bit. I’m getting everything started in a few hours, so be ready to get started! I’m going to go ahead and ask my players for To Judge a Soul to keep an eye open here for a link to the gameplay thread, as i’ll be setting it up as well. I apologize for the delay, but I look forward to running these games for you all!

Good to see you guys are still going strong! I'm not trying to get back into the game or anything, I lost all my digital chronicle sheets and my paper ones, and I'll likely have to start over with any pfs characters, but some of you expressed concern via pm when I first went dark so I'm just letting you know GM Evil is back.

Yeah guys, I'm having a hectic bit going on in life right now, so I asked Shifty to get one of the awesome back up GM's to take over for you guys. I didn't want to cause you guys to miss out or run slow. I'm still going to be watching and cheering for you guys from the back, though. I apologize for having to drop out. It couldn't be helped though.

Alright everyone. I got my wifi headache sorted out and everything is good to go on my end. I'll be taking back over when I get home tonight. Thanks to GM Kashka for stepping and helping out! The online community here is amazing and I'm glad to be a part of it. Everyone else, I'm catching up on all the posts now and will make the transition completely seamless.

Alright guys, I'm back and in the process of getting everything caught up and updated now!
My Evergreen trilogy is now full. I decided to take on 2 tables, which leaves two players on the waitlist. Awenydd83, aren't you running an evergreen trilogy as well? Could you fit those two in? I have separated the tables into (mostly) new-ish players, and veterans. Please look over the separations and make sure you are in the right one. It will begin as soon as Blood Under Absalom concludes. I still have open four open spots in a CORE Silverhex chronicles game. It has to be run with pregens, but is quite fun. I also have 4 open spots in a CORE We Be Goblins! game. I plan on running the entire We Be Goblins trilogy, and conclude with We B4 Goblins! at the end, so sign up now to make sure you get in on it! My sign up sheet is HERE, and be sure to PM me with any questions or concerns!
Awenydd83 wrote: Bethany: As soon as the special is over (and I imagine this goes for most of us..) I plan on running a "Welcome to the Society" type trilogy of evergreens geared for fresh recruits such as yourself. I just cant possibly run that with everything else I have on my plate right now. I know it hurts, but help is coming for you!! Lol! I am running the exact same type of game as soon as the special is over, and Bethany is already signed up for it on my sign up sheet. Great minds think alike, I suppose. My game is probably going to go First Steps, Wisp, Confirmation.

Since I don't GM any it would be the least I could do. It's really not that big of a deal. I understand the sentiment, and from experience, I know how much players appreciate it when someone comes in and runs a game specifically for you. That being said, that appreciation is really all I need. I'm just here doing what I enjoy, and it feels wrong to be compensated for it like that. If it were a real life game, where I had to travel, or draw maps, or pore over a billion sourcebooks to put the game together, then maybe it would be a different story. But this, this is easy. The maps are copy paste, I can update the game from my phone, and everything needed is in one place in a handy PDF that I got for free from Paizo anyway. I'm not worried about getting anything in return except a bunch of happy players saying "That was fun! Thanks for running it!". Unless it wasn't fun and everyone yelled at me for being a bad GM and peeing on the carpet, then I would have a sad.
I have updated my sign up sheet to reflect the games that I will be starting up after the Blood Under Absalom Special is over. Any who wish to go ahead and sign up are more than welcome. Please allow new players to sign up for the Evergreen Trilogy game first, and if there are enough Veterans who wish to play, then I will run two tables. GM Evil is back in the saddle everyone. Let's play some pathfinder.

The hardest part of GM'ing online is realizing how easy it really is. The online team does a phenomenal job with setting things up for people, so they really deserve a ton of credit. Hmm, those guides are indispensable for newer GM's, and even veterans can learn a thing or two from them. Huzzah for the online VO's! Ok, so that's two of you. Pick which one you guys want and I'll run it. I won't need a gift of it since I have all of the scenarios. I know I just posted about being too busy to run games, but I was in my local game store earlier and one of the employees decided to really step up and help out with getting Society play going in the area. Now that I have somewhat of an assistant, I can focus more on helping out with GM'ing online for all you wonderful people. So, let me know which one you guys want, we'll get some more players, and I will start prepping... (Though, if you reeeeeeallly want me to run both, I wouldn't be opposed to being gifted another softcover product instead... j/k. Maybe. Is it illegal to not be j/k'ing? Wait, I feel like that's a lawful evil act. But my alias is GM Evil, right? No but really, j/k. If no one steps up to run the second, I'll just run both.)

Personally, I had a lot going on and my laptop went kaput, so I pulled back from GM'ing online so much. I finally got my laptop back up and running, and my Venture Agency is starting to take off. Once that's settled into a solid routine, I'll be back on here with a vengeance. I already have my scenarios for it picked and sort of prepped. Also, in other news, I nabbed my third shiny. Go me.
I wasn't trying to be hostile, I was trying to get a point across. The opposition began to become hostile, so I replied accordingly. I already stated to one of the opposition that I am more than willing to agree to disagree until we get an official ruling. I agree we need a clarification, and I would love to have one. Like I said when I quoted the blog, that's the best either side of the debate will get as far as proof until we see something from the design team. I also was not accusing you personally of trying to pull a fast one in a game. Your opening post was just an idle curiosity, and honestly, a good one. Corner cases like this need to be found and discussed so we don't have debates like this at a table. Nothing is worse than a player/GM argument at a table. I avoid them at all costs, and if this was the issue at hand and it became a debate, I would just rule in favor of the player and move on. However, this is what forums are for, for having these discussions outside of play. As far as the intent and the written of the rules, the design team has, time and time again, ruled in favor of intent on these subjects. (Anyone remember the "empty hands" fiasco? I do.) That is one of the main reasons why I don't allow non-core actions at my tables, because Core is based on intent, and the design team backs that up almost every single time. Animal companions, mounts, summon rules, etc. Nothing I had to say was directed at you. As far as I'm concerned, this is not a hostile discussion, it's a healthy, logical debate. The rules aren't clear for my argument, and my opposition doesn't have anything clearly saying that you can so for now, we are all at a standstill. Until we see an official ruling, happy gaming everyone! May your dice not try to kill you! Now, I'm going to go finish prepping for my event this weekend that I'm the sole coordinator of.

The problem was that you included a whole lot of other stuff in there. It's a fact that most of us GM at cons because of the boon and attendance rewards. I mean, Hmm described the effort perfectly. If we didn't get something out of it, what else is there? Just because that's the reason doesn't mean that every GM doing so is going to scrape by with the bare minimum. That's what Nefreet and TOZ are taking offense to, as well as myself. Don't assume. If you had a bad GM, then you had a bad GM. That doesn't mean that the ones with similar motivations are bad GM's as well.

We'll be addressing Additional Resources soon after we're back in the office following a modest holiday break. Thanks for your patience. No need for thanks here, John. I, and all of the pathfinders in my area, are perfectly content with just getting the scenarios. I fully understand that you guys have a lot on your plates, and that PFS itself, with all of the additional resources, rules, and tangled web of product interactions, can take time to sort through. You guys just keep on being awesome like you always have, and we'll all be here once you're done. Don't worry about work, and enjoy your holidays.
Running the confirmation on Roll20. One of the players is playing a swashbuckler, and had been pretty much owning every fight due to system mastery and good rolls. I don't think he even took a single point of damage or failed a save. Fast forward to the end. Confirmation Final Battle: The Minotaur wins initiative and whacks Janira what good, Negan style. She's negative and dying. Minotaur then makes an epic movement check to cross the river toward the pathfinders, axe held high. Rest of the party starts buffing, and single moves to stay together. Swash sprints to the Minotaur. He had to double move, so no attack. The rest of the group is shouting "No! Don't go alone like that!" He laughs and replies something like "nothing in this scenario has been hard so far, this'll be easy. I'll opportune parry and riposte him since I can't attack this turn!" Minotaur up, swings for nosebleeds. Rolls a critical threat. Doesn't confirm. Swash goes to parry. Rolls a natural 1. Uses his folio reroll. Rolls another natural 1. Uses his trait to reroll any deed that comes up a natural 1. Rolls a 3. Minotaur plows his face in. Max damage. Swash goes down hard. Monk, who hasn't hit anything the whole scenario due to the Swash killing everything first, lands stunning fist. Minotaur fails save, bloodrager cleans up with his falchion. Swash was 1 point away from dead. Group stabilizes him, and Janira, walks away with both Prestige. This was a couple of years ago, and the group still won't let him live it down.
I'm happy waiting. Scenarios aren't going anywhere and we'll be playing just as much after holidays as we were before. Now is the time to take a break and relax, spend time with family, and eat way more food than we really should. Of course, as I say this, three of my local players asked me run Night March of Kalkamedes this Friday and I'm beginning prep and all that now. The life of a VA is never boring! Happy holidays pathfinders! May you all enjoy yourselves and have a good time!
I don't feel like a ban is the answer. The price is a little low. I would counsel maybe making it on par with the other polymorph effect items. Maybe a slight nerf to the abusive parts. Mandate that it can't be used to make attacks with blah blah blah or something along those lines. (Sorry, I am grumpy and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but I felt the need to voice my opinion; rarrr, I am person hear me talk) This item is greatly flavorful, with unanticipated combat benefits. Nerf the unanticipated part, and let those paladins of Shelyn be happy little birds. (Bob Ross would be proud).
BigNorseWolf, this is awesome. I'm having issues adding my location, though. I'm on my phone, so that could be it. I'm the Venture Agent for New Port Richey Florida, and would love to be added to your map. Sign ups are on Warhorn and floridapfs.org. I'm waiting on Warhorn to email me back with my event irk so I can start scheduling out games in advance, but so far no dice. I'll give you the url as soon as I get it. The address I run games in is The Gamer's Guild
If you could add me, that would be epic and I would forever be in your debt. I'm trying to build up the society presence in the area, because there hasn't been any at all until I got VO'd and started making one myself.

Honestly, I see more better roleplaying on PbP games. Now, that not always the case. Just like any tabletop game, it always depends on the players and the GM. Ive seen some fave to face games that take a single slot scenario and make it stretch an entire day just from roleplaying (benefit of home PFS games. Time constraints are hardly ever an issue) and I've seen tables blow through a scenario in record time with hardly even asking the "quest giver" what his name was. The best advice I can give you, find a GM that has the perfect mix of the two for your personal taste. Every player is different, every GM is different. Personally, I enjoy making characters that are well built, mechanically sound, and a little on the "oh wow is that even a legal thing?" side. Then, I love to take that character and roleplay the hell out of them. I always have huge detailed backstories, personalities, and relationships with other characters. I have a swashbuckler/ninja who absolutely wrecks combat, and solo'd a dragon without ever getting hit. He also owns the tavern vanity and has a three page history, and a slew of personality traits and quirks. He's also my "go to" character for when I run a scenario for gathering players and sending them to the scenario intro. My CORE characters tend to be off the wall, and use seldom seen things to decent effect. Take my Halfling sorceress for example. She's the bartender at the previously mentioned character's tavern, and she has the arcane bloodline. Her bonded object is a Halfling sling staff, and she has a pony. Her staff actually does decent damage as a ranged weapon, and her spells are ones such as color spray and grease. She's a massive party face when it comes to skills. And she talks. A lot. Therefore, I enjoy playing with GM's who can handle characters who are moderately powerful, can play the "stats game", but also can roleplay the heck out of NPC's and situations. I've found several on here that have that perfect mix, and I usually sign up for every game they run. You'll almost always see me in Shifty's, EndlessForms', Tyranius', Our Mysterious Benefactor's, Norv's, and several others' games. Tl;dr: Find a GM that plays like you like, and sign up for all of their games.

As long as an adult is at the table and they have a kid with them, I let them share resources with the kid. I always enjoy seeing new gamers in the works, and the best way is to let the adults in their lives take them to events. I would like to see this in the next update to the guide, however, because there are some VO's who wouldn't be so kind. Having the FAQ is good though.
I have my favorite society character, a Swash-Ninja named Kel Na'Yaa. He runs The Laughing Lizard (tavern vanity) as a mini-lodge and front for the Absalom thieves' guild. (Wait, what thieves' guild?). In his tavern is Meralda Starstrike, a halfling sorceress who is also the bartender. Her brother, Hennet "Lucky" Starstrike, is too busy being a warpriest of Desna to hold down a day job, hardly ever visits, but they are both the children of a 3.5 Halfling Rogue/Bard/Shadowdancer and a Halfling Warmage named Mesmer Starstrike and Gradius Starstrike, respectively. Kel may or may not have several children around Absalom that will one day take up the mantle of adventurer. I also have my Kitsune Takkit Shinrou, who has a sister that will be making her debut into society play soon enough.
