Why? I thought the post was perfect for Rendylyn!

Rendylyn the Red Waif |

I'd like to propose we use a good chunk of the wealth from the prison to buy some items that will benefit the whole party, assuming the items are in the mansion's armory.
One fine Asmodean item I feel the Cardinal might have on hand is a Wand of Infernal Healing. It'll cost 750 gp, and will help compensate for our divine casters' inability to cast healing spells spontaneously.
Any other ideas?

Posh Stemtimple |

Ok, I just caught up on the Discussion thread.
Posh has claimed:
scroll of hideous laughter
scroll of invisibility
wizard’s college class ring worth 250 gp
ioun torch
and I have them on my list. If someone else claimed them, we can sort it out, otherwise, it should come off any loot list. Having things double listed on PCs, and in the loot list gets confusing.
Can someone summarize the new folks for me?
Posh COULD take healing spells, but if he does, he loses out on a lot of his utility spells, which I think Posh has proven he can use to excellent effect so far.
I say we go with "buying" our healing via items, or are there monsters that can be summoned to heal? I think so, but not until higher levels, right?

Rendylyn the Red Waif |

If I've done this correctly, anyone now may edit the communal loot list.
I updated it by liquidating the unclaimed prison loot, subtracting 750 gp for the wand, and adding the wand.

Posh Stemtimple |

Indeed! A great time!
I had just posted last night and was going to read the Gameplay, when Paizo crashed, or had maintenance. Unsure which.

Posh Stemtimple |

Was there anything else the other PCs or GM needed Posh to post about to catch me up?

Posh Stemtimple |

As an aside, Posh isn't a hack and slash homicidal murder rapist. He's in this for the money and power.

Posh Stemtimple |

@GM - Can we get the loot list linked above.
Also, can you delist the other extra Profiles currently list as PCs int he game please?

Rayse |

I think we're pretty much ready to go. Eventually I'll want to get Rayse some heavy armor but that's out of reach for now.

Treesa Lore |

That's a lot of gold!
Assuming the wand is carried by Rendylyn? Move it to your CS and remove from the party sheet.
I can't edit the sheet. Not a big problem....

Posh Stemtimple |

Easily fixed the first time we kill a heavy armor wearer!
I call dibs on small sized items! Or medium things that I can reasonably use as a small sized item of a different sort (like this medium dagger, I'm using as a short sword!) (Maybe we find a medium buckler, that I can use as a small shield)
As a Gnomographer, it never occurred to Posh to need armor, so he'll need to procure some at some point as well.

Posh Stemtimple |

Belay my last! 200gp of gear from the armory? YES PLEASE!
100gp Chain Shirt
5gp Buckler
75 gp Composite Shortbow
1gp 20 Arrows

Posh Stemtimple |

Would we prefer the loot list we have now, or I can set up a google spreadsheet?

Posh Stemtimple |

Dargon took some time to go through the armory. He left with only 2 items he didnt have yet. 1 light mace, in case he needed something more 'stout' than his rapier and a very nicely crafted suit of studded leather armor.
mw studded leather 175. light mace 5
Yeah. MW would be nice, but I want the AC points more than the saving on the skill checks. time enough to get better stuff, when we have deeper pockets.
For that matter, once we're 3rd level, and I have 150gp, Rend can MW up my armor then.

Rendylyn the Red Waif |

The spreadsheet, please.
GMT, would it be OK to buy 1st level potions and scrolls from the armory?

Treesa Lore |

Easy is good. Requested edit access.

Posh Stemtimple |

Approved

Rendylyn the Red Waif |

Folks, I sold the non-trade-goods (the weapons and equipment) for too much, full price instead of half price. Sorry!
The correct GP total is 2212.5. I'll fix it if you give me edit access too, Posh.

@Rendy:
I agree with pooling our money as soon as possible to buy party level items such as cure wands and other necessary spells (lesser restoration, energy resist/protection, etc). I'll also have you know that as a spontaneous caster, I can cast cure spells more easily since I don't have to prepare them and I got them as spells known. Although they will not scale as well as yours and my rounds in combat will be better served by poking my spear than healing. I can also use judgement of healing for self healing if necessary, but it's not very effective, even considering my daily judgement surge feat.

Posh Stemtimple |

Evil parties simply have a "healing problem." There's no way around it, without a Life Oracle, hahaha.

Treesa Lore |

Treesa also has CLW. And legendary witch is a blend of prepared and spontaneous. I "prepare" my available spells and then pick and choose which ones I want to cast.

Rendylyn the Red Waif |

Good to know you folks have CLW available. Do you plan to swap it out later, when you have more powerful options?
My favorite thing about playing a cleric is that as a prepared caster, you can leave some of your spell slots unassigned, then later in the day take 15 minutes to pray for whatever spell you need from the entire cleric list. It gives you enormous flexibility.

Posh Stemtimple |

No CLW here. Sure, it was an option, but I wanted the utility other spells provide.

Treesa Lore |

We've got the wand....

GM Therenger |

I'm having a lot of fun with this scene but we can let it wrap if everyone is ready to move on.

Posh Stemtimple |

I'm ready to move on! There's evil what needs to get done!

GM Therenger |

Are you sure? The next part is a really dull dungeon crawl I'm tempted to skip through.

Treesa Lore |

I’m good with either, although a dungeon crawl would let us see how our characters would work together.
But I’m fine with whatever. This is still interesting.

Posh Stemtimple |

Regardless of what the "next part" is, I'm ready to move on from dinner with the others.

![]() |

On the dungeon crawl, it depends, really. I'd also like to see how we do in combat as a team, and I also don't want to miss out on some loot.
But if after the dungeon, there's at least a simple combat with equivalent loot, it could serve the same purpose. It's fine either way for me.

Rendylyn the Red Waif |

In one of my first D&D games, the first-time GM had us move through a series of 10' hallways to a series of 20' x 20' rooms, each containing exactly one monster, one treasure chest, and one door. We managed to have ginormous fun!
I'd be fine with more dinner and politics--I thought this was building up to a sacrifice scene, actually--and I'd be fine with moving on to a good-old-fashioned dungeon crawl. Whatever the group prefers.

Rendylyn the Red Waif |

GMT, do we have a fixed date for The Darkness Eternal? Might it be the summer solstice, when days start to grow shorter?

GM Therenger |

It correlates to June 10th, so it's approaching the solstice, assuming Golarion is analogous to earth.

Back on the subject of dungeon crawls.... I once GM'd a crawl based on the movie Cube. I made the 'rooms' 50' cubes with intricately locked 10'x10' doors in the center of the walls. Of course the ceiling and floor were also walls. And I made gravity a variable that changed when a surface was touched. When a door was first opened and nothing there, there was no gravity. If there was something in the cube the gravity was set by which surface they were on. If you walked across the floor and then 'stepped' on the wall, the gravity would change for you. Multiple creatures made it a question of which wall had more feet on it? Made for some interesting melees. Each door had a 6-digit number on it, which meant something. The party could keep records of what they discovered and figure out the numbers, but of course they didn't. There were static monsters, like a gelatinous cube, too stupid to open a door. And of course some wandering monsters, including another trapped party. They could be helpful if diplomacy was successfully used, or they could attack. They were out of supplies and very hungry!
It was fun at first, but after a few hours it got boring.

Imagine doing that in pbp! That's more or less what's coming, except it's only 9 rooms and gravity is fixed.

June 10th is also National Iced Tea Day! And National Ball Point Pen Day! And National Bed Bug Prevention Day! And Bill Burr's birthday! Is Bill Burr actually the Dark Prince? I think so! Asmodeus sipping iced tea and signing thank you cards with a ball point pen while his slaves fumigate the infernal mattress...
