Looks good. I like both of them.
Do you want to continue GMing the next part? Or do you want to switch off. I ask only because I did get the book but haven't read it. Don't want to spoil the surprises.... I've never played through this or even read through others playing it.
If I'm to GM it I'll need a little time to prep things. I will use Slides on Google for maps. I just don't know roll20 well enough!
Can we get a vote on a 1 CR template at 5th level? I'm for it. Posh seemed interested. ?? I'd recommend staying away from templates that turn your character into something other than what they are, different race, etc.
No no, I've got Book 1. I've read most of it now and have a plan for Kid and for how to bring in the new PCs. Please don't spoil it for yourself and we can plan to switch off for a later book depending on how things are flowing.
As for the template, I feel like 5th level might be too soon to get a significant power boost. I'm not opposed to the idea but I'd like to get a better sense of the challenge offered in this AP.

I agree to inviting those specific new PCs. I feel we should hold off on deciding whether we need a template or other power boost until we've seen what more this AP is throwing at us.
Also, GMT, I want to make sure you know I think as GM you have absolute power to alter the AP as you see fit, so long as it makes sense in the world of the game. Rebuilding NPCs, changing monsters or puzzles, adding or subtracting material, whatever. Don't feel obliged to rework things, but feel free to. This isn't Pathfinder Society. Do keep notes on what you've changed for future GMs, though, for if and when we rotate.

Ok Villains, I head out to Scouts BSA Summer Camp tomorrow morning for a week. Wish me luck with that endeavor.
Following that, it is family reunion at a State Park for the next week.
If I pop in to the game, it will be quick, and not very substantial, so press on, and keep things moving.
GM Therenger
Best of luck! We're at a natural break in the story anyway. We'll pick up at the manor when you return.
GM Wicked Treesa
Have fun! I'm on vacation at Old Orchard Beach, Maine with my Grandson and his parents, in that order of course. I've got plenty of time for posting or days at the beach. But we can wait as needed.
GM? Do you have stats on the dog? I've looked and all I find are stats for a small dog or a riding dog. They mention Guard dog but I can't find the entry.

Thank you!

@Everyone, please adjust your stat block to keep track of HP after combat ends. Only Treesa, Rufus, and Kid are currently hurt, and obviously Grumblejack is feeling very bad but I'll manage him.
GM Therenger
Good news - our Inquisitor will be joining the party! Still waiting to hear back on final decision from FangDragon. They may introduce themselves in Discussion and I'll bring them into Gameplay when it makes sense, but that won't be long.

Our PCs might want to squabble over coin, but as a player I prefer to be pretty easygoing with loot. I feel items that especially benefit one PC or another should go to them, and the rest of us can draw funds from the communal loot to keep things roughly balanced. We should also spend communal funds on things that will benefit us all, such as a healing wand.
What follows is a list of valuable (ie, worth 2 gp or more a pound) items which we can carry with us, but no one has recorded on their character sheet. If you want something, say so and put it on your sheet. Otherwise, it's in a sack until we need it or sell it.
Communal Loot:
Silk Veil of One Thing Left: A window
16 longswords
17 longbows
greatsword
trident
shortsword
masterwork longsword
bottle of fine whiskey worth 25 gp
masterwork lute worth 100 gp
“The Travels of Titus the Mendicant” by Artus Vellor worth 120 gp
52 books worth 156 gp total
5 noble outfits worth 375 gp total
alchemist's kit worth 200 gp
scroll of magic missile
scroll of hideous laughter
scroll of invisibility
wizard’s college class ring worth 250 gp
ioun torch
13 bottles of rotgut whiskey worth 65 GP total
silver holy symbol of Mitra worth 25 gp
Mitran holy book worth 5 gp
Two decks of playing cards (one regular, one marked)
finely made pipe worth 5 gp
shag tobacco worth 2 gp
...and 1282 GP which is counting the contents of the small coin pouch with 1d6 gold in miscellaneous coinage.: 1d6 ⇒ 5

As a GM, I leave all management of loot to the players. Once I list it, I couldn't care less about it.
GM Therenger
Damn, for a prison that is a s#++load of loot. That's like, more than the entire Carrion Crown AP.

I formally apologize for Rendylyn's arrogance.
I'm not using Kid to express GM thoughts, if that's a concern. Please don't change, Rendylyn is awesome.
Treesa Lore
Apologize? but that's the way she is?
Please add the warden's spell book Treesa is carrying. She can't gain spells from it unless we get a wizard to scribe scrolls and I 'feed' them to my familiar.
I scanned the feed but didn't see the spell list?
Treesa has the scroll of magic missile.
Posh has the other two.
Until we all have darkvision I think we should keep the ioun torch. I'll claim it if nobody else wants to.
Treesa Lore
LOL! He is stronger but my arms are longer! I'll use my evil eye hex to give him -2 to his strength check....

LOL! The one Pathfinder AP I've GM'd from start to finish is Carrion Crown--wrote a lot about it on these boards as my primary alias. There were definitely parts where my players were behind on WBL. Then they found the Raven's Head, and suddenly one player had roughly half the party's wealth.
That said, the expected Wealth by Level for level 2 characters is 1,000 gp each, so we're comfortably behind the curve.
Treesa Lore
I think they write the APs light on treasure so the GMs can add whatever they feel like adding....
GM Therenger
Unless anyone has anything they want to do before arriving at the manor, that will be the next event. I'll give you a few hours and then write that post.
Treesa Lore
Sounds good!

Hi Folks! Thanks for the invite, I'll sort Rayse's profile out tomorrow :)

Hello everyone!
GM Therenger has kindly asked me to join the way of the wicked. Who can say no to that?
I'll be your resident inquisitor of Asmodeus, trying to be very helpful. My character is ready, except for maybe a few things:
I noticed that Kid Vicious' sheet features EitR house rules, but I didn't find that in the Recruitment thread. Are we running with such rules? How about Background skills?
Since I run with a list of known spells instead of prepared, I'd like to coordinate spells with our other caster in the group. I couldn't find Rendylyn's list of prepared spells in her sheet. So, for now I am running with a generic list, but I could switch Divine Favor for Bless or Shield of Faith if that helps.
I need to update my background, it still considers that Vormog was jailed at its end. If I need some context about where the group is and what's going on, please let me know. Unless you prefer to put me there and slowly give me information as if I don't know how I got there, that works too!
Rendylyn the Red Waif
Welcome Vormog! Rendylyn's prepared spells are at the end of the Mechanics block of her character sheet, but right now she's nearly exhausted her slots. Because she has only one Domain, Fire, you don't need to worry about choosing spells that overlap with hers. Instead, pick what you like and she'll work around your fixed selection. The only exceptions are the cantrips Create Water and Guidance, which Rendylyn takes for roleplay reasons.
You might consider switching out Detect Magic, since two of our players with Spellcraft can take it.

Yes to EitR, as indicated here. And also from the same post, No specifically to Background skills but 2 extra Skill Points/level which can be used on any skill.
We're not doing mythic and Mitra is back in in place of the Trinity. I don't know FairyGM's rationale for that switch but the AP is refers to Mitra almost exclusively and I'll run it like it's written.
Welcome to the game, both of you! I'll be writing your intros soon, hopefully today. We have one player out of pocket and we'll need him active shortly so I will slow things down a bit as we bring everyone together. Fyi, you're in the manor house atm but not yet part of this dinner scene.

Thanks, I'll update my character soon.
My baby had a fever today, so tomorrow she stays home and my wife and I take turns taking care of her. My posting may be compromised.
Rayse
"and I'll run it like it's written."
Rhat does make things a bit easier :)
GM Therenger
Alright, everyone is together. Rayse and Vormog Lough, feel free to make your first posts in Gameplay at any time. I leave it to everyone to peruse profiles and craft your posts using the physical descriptions therein.

Updated my profile. Added a light crossbow with ammo, changed a few known cantrips and included power attack in the weapons math.
Rendylyn the Red Waif
If you want a devilish Time patron for Treesa, Mahathallah would make sense. She's got fate and prophecy as areas of interest, and in 2nd edition grants the Time domain.
Rayse
I've not given Rayse any gear, is there any available? If so what is there a gp limit?
Rayse
Thanks, done.
GM Therenger
You're probably all eager to meet the Master, but I don't want to do that without Posh. Good rp happening; please keep it going.
Treesa Lore
Understood. Reading Posh's post above it looks like he'll be out until the 19th.
GM Therenger
Re: the prison
Rayse and Vormog were there three days before the rest of you. Then they were retrieved to be escorted to their final destination, the salt mines. All of this happened immediately prior to the rest of the group's arrival at Branderscar. A snafu with the scheduling is the reason for the difference.
Roleplay it any way you like.
Rayse
How is it we never saw you at the prison
Was that a question for Rayce?
Treesa Lore
Pretty sure the question was to both 'new guys'. Vormog gave a good answer.
