The growling in his stomach rouses Zomeraand Lotheed from the pleasant hallucination induced by the pages of the book resting in his hands. He marks the page with a slip of parchment, and rises from the well-stuffed armchair.

"Thank you, Master Haladan," he says, handing the book to the proprieter. "I was rather enjoying that gnomish legend. If you can possibly hold that book for me, I will likely purchase it within the fortnight. I understand, of course, if you cannot. Business is business, after all."

He nods to the man as he takes his leave, and makes his way through the streets of Sandpoint to his other haunt, the Rusty Dragon.

As he enters the common room, his eyes find Ameiko Kaijitsu. Since his first visit to the Rusty Dragon, the woman fascinated him; not so much in a romantic way, but by her very spirit. She was beautiful, yes, but more so, she was intelligent and competent. He recalled how his approach was deftly, firmly, and politely rebuffed. It was only then that he realized she took him to be propositioning her. In retrospect, it was little wonder, as she moved about the room, deflecting the groping hands of several drunken patrons.

"Good afternoon, Mistress Kaijitsu," he says to the proprietress, giving a respectful, formal, half-bow to her. He moves to an empty table and takes a seat, waiting patiently for one of the servers to take his drink request.

Sandpoint is so much more peaceful than Magnimar, he thought to himself, unconsciously running a finger across the amulet around his neck. I don't regret a single day away from the Yards. In fact, I should have come here sooner. Such sweet serenity!

Xiakon was around town known as a strange, yet talented tengu. Ever since the Jinxfeather clan moved in the once crow raised swordsmaster took to his people. There leader the Shigenjo Kiaku Crowfriend. Along with Hyuku the swordsmaster, Yuzu the Bold, and Kimiku the Cook all played a part in raising him. This is where he learned the teaching of his ancestors and the blessed teaching of Hei Feng the Thunderer.

Xiaxon came into town. he had some bread in which he was feeding the Crow on his shoulder. it was a strange sight to most visitors' but to those who knew the rogue found this whole situation normal. In fact his birdlike replies to the crows bird chitter. another one flew over spoke and he gave it a piece of bread. This murder remembered him and knew him to be a larger version of them.

As he wandered the street, he listened to all the chatter around him. In doing so he would internalize it and add the voices and words to his own library. Eventually he made his way to the Rusty Dragon. Their he was out of bread and spoke to the crow who left him.

The Tengu stepped into the Tavern and opened his beak. when he did the creepy voice almost as if a strange carcophcany of voices trying to speak at once. "hello, Kaijitsu, I seek the fried fish"

Yeah, I'm gonna back out. Recruitment is taking too long, and I prefer submitting links based on past RPing examples from other characters I've ran that aren't just here on Paizo.

Very well then. I wish you luck elsewhere. And thank you for at least applying a character for recruitment-it means a lot, even if you backed out for your own reasons.

Furnok's eyes cracked open and he sighed as he awoke early in the morning. Lying in his small hut, Furnok got out of bed and shuffled off to the privy before scratching together a morning meal of bread and cheese.

Getting dressed, Furnok thought about the day, he'd go see if he could get any mistakes at the bakery for his later meal and then head down near the cliffs. The rats had been scurrying upwards since some yahoo hadn't properly dumped and axing a bunch of them would get him some coppers and goodwill.

Slinging his scythe over his shoulder, Furnok whistled to his small terrier and ambled off. He'd also check the docks to see if there was anything to haul, maybe help any old folk lug their garbage to the cliffs since many couldn't handle the trek. Could see if the herbilist needed a lookout for when they went gathering, dern goblins were everywhere.

Liberty's Edge

From a previous version of Brand:

"Say Allandir, you seem to be a pretty knowledgeable fellow. Any idea who those guys are?" Brand asks not quietly gesturing at the mercs with a turkey leg.

"Our charter? Why I'm going to kill those that need to be killed. Then hopefully find me a good lass to marry, settle down on a good plot, and have lots of children. My mother will join us and put to song all the deeds of her son and his merry band while my children listen raptly." Brand says to Maegar with a broad grin.

Are untrained checks ok for these? Doesn't matter.
Know Local untrained: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7
Know Nobility untrained: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7

And...

Brand walks in with a big smile on his face. Having left his spear with his horse in the stable he is still a daunting figure with furs and leather over scale mail, a large hunting knife by his side, and a pair of bladed fingerless gloves tucked into his belt. He follows the attendant to the table and after Varn introduces himself Brand shakes the man's hand vigorously. "I'm Brand, just Brand, it's good to meet you sir." Then he tips his head to the ladies present, "Ladies, you are all looking lovely this evening." Then turning to the gnome he asks, "Good evening to you master gnome. Might I ask why the eccentric hair color?" After a response good or ill, Brand takes his seat.

When the noble and the armed woman walk out on Brand takes notice. After they introduce themselves as their hosts, Brand stands shoving his chair backward and roars, "A salute to the Swordlord and the Mayor! Blood and steel I say, blood and steel!" Then, after a short round of applause he reseats himself, picking up the chair.

"Ahh, the food." Brand takes servings befitting his size which is significant. Then once his mug is full he raises it to those at the table, "To a night of revelry and a future of song."

In response to Daxiana, "Politics? That's looking too deep into it. It's an opportunity to gain our own piece of land and use our muscles to acquire it. Can't ask for more than that."

Lily Tandor hovered over her workbench, her black, pitiless eyes gleaming with focus. In one hand, she carefully held a delicate glass vial containing a shimmering liquid that seemed to pulse with an inner light. Her sharp nails, though trimmed, lightly tapped the vial as she examined it closely.

“Just a touch more essence of nightshade,” she murmured to herself, reaching for a small jar filled with dried, dark purple leaves. She measured out a precise amount, her movements graceful and deliberate, and sprinkled the leaves into a bubbling cauldron on the bench.

As the leaves dissolved, the mixture within the cauldron shifted in color, darkening from a soft lavender to a deep, midnight blue. Lily’s lips curled into a smile, her pointed teeth just visible.

“Perfect,” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the soft hiss of the cauldron. “Now for the final step.”

With a steady hand, she uncorked the vial of shimmering liquid and poured a single drop into the cauldron. The reaction was immediate—tiny sparks of light danced across the surface of the liquid, and the scent of fresh rain filled the room.

Alright, Wyssal's background has been added to her profile.

Wyssal RP Sample:

Wyssal hurries along the street on her way to The Way North. She's holding a pole that rests on her shoulder, with a thick burlap bag tied on the end. She keeps looking back at the bag to make sure it isn’t swinging or bouncing too much, slowing down a little if she thinks it is.

When she gets to the shop, she gently lays down the pole and bag before going up to the door and knocking; it’s getting on later toward evening so after shop hours. As she waits for the gnome inside to come answer her knock, Wyssal taps her foot impatiently, unable to be still due to her excitement. Finally after a second knock and long minutes, Veznutt Parooh slides the bolt aside and opens the door. Before the old gnome can say anything, Wyssal tells him ”I finally have it! We have to do the rest right now!” The grin on Wyssal’s face is so wide she looks almost maniacal. Her eyes are shining with accomplishment and anticipation. Veznutt grins back behind his great mustache and beard when he hears. He looks over Wyssal’s should and sees the bag, then he motions her around the side of the little building. ”Yes, yes! Of course, we do it right now. But go around to the back, I don’t want it inside obviously.”

Wyssal picks up the pole, this time holding it with both hands so the bag is out in front of her as she trots around the building to the back. Veznutt meets her there by coming out the back door. Viznutt and Wyssal stand beside each other and look out at the grassy area, several dozen yards long before it stops at a cliff dropping down to the sea. There are some bushes and a few trees, but the thing that both of them focus on is a small conical structure, about 3 feet high, of woven birch branches covered in dried mud to seal most of the gaps between the branches.

They look at each other and Viznutt says ”We’ll have to be fast with this, but not so fast we make a mistake. A mistake could be very costly.” Wyssal nods once, indicating she understands, and they walk toward it. While Wyssal waits with her pole and bag, Vesnutt fetches two small step-stools stored away close by, positioning one of each side to the structure. Both of them step up onto their respective stools, and Visnutt lifts the top of the cone away; it is a lid, built to fit firmly onto to structure’s base, much like the stopper in a perfume bottle. The gnome holds the lid close to the opening and at the ready while Wyssal take hold of a long piece of the twine tying the bag to the pole. She feeds the pole down into the structure until the bag comes to rest on the floor inside.

Viznutt and Wyssal look at each other, and both of them nod, showing their readiness. Wyssal takes a deep breath in and yanks on the twine. The knot holding the bag comes undone, and as soon as it does Wyssal starts pulling the pole and bag out, hand-over-hand, as fast as she can. A hollowed-out section of log rolls out of the bag, and a cloud of bees forms over it almost instantly, rising upward very quickly. The instant Wyssal has the pole and bag pulled clear, Visnutt slams the lid down on the hive. Now they can both exhale. They grin at each of again, this time in triumphant relief, and step down from their stools.
They walk back up to the shop, where Wyssal sits down on the grass while Visnutt fetches a bottle of beer from inside, which she splits between two mugs. He hands one of the mugs to Wyssal and joins her on the grass. They toast ”to autumn honey and wax!”, and drink. ”That went really well” Visnutt comments ”I’d bet not even two-dozen bees made made it out.” Wyssal agrees. ”Yes, only one sting.” She holds her forearm up to present a single red bump.

When the beer is gone, Wyssal stands up. Alright, I’ll be back before sunrise in the morning so we can open the door before the bees wake up. That will give them a whole night to start getting used to their new home.”

You will all be glad to hear that I am withdrawing my application. Less competition for the other applicants and hopefully slightly less pressure on the GM when it comes to making a choice.

Although I would love to play this AP, I don't actually have bandwidth for another game right now. Wishing everyone the best!

GM KoolKobold wrote:

Appreciate it. Nothing against you at all either by the way. Longer application windows can work at times depending on what's being advertised, but others will fill up on submissions extremely quick, such as this AP for sure. With big name APs or modules, you're more than likely gonna be able to fill a party within a week, 2 at the most. So ending a window earlier than anticipated honestly isn't a bad thing cause the longer you stretch it out, the less steam it'll gather overall, and then you risk choosing people who don't get back to you because they forget they even applied in the first place.

As far as the rp example goes, the reason why I prefer links is because that'll give you a better idea of an actual style, rather than just a single post or two that has no actual set scene. You can sit in your car all day and watch YouTube videos about it, but you're not gonna know how actually drives until you actually drive it. I've seen people who can write quality paragraphs in their own position, but the moment you put them with others, it just becomes a couple dialogue lines with a couple of description lines.

Just some food for thought later in the future!

I’m still planning to submit an application. Currently thinking about an oracle, but that could change.

Still working on my Monk as well.

Honestly with how many applications I already got, a part of me is considering closing the recruitment and letting everyone who dotted focus on getting their characters made.

Yeah... usually i keep recruitment open from 1.5 to 2 weeks, depending on submissions, just in case I get extraordinarily good ones.

(Also, can remove me from thr dot list... I'm already in the other campaign with you)

Had you removed from the list I made on Sheets, not sure why I kept you in there on the post.

I’ll make an announcement tomorrow on closing recruitments but still letting everyone who’s dotted have some time to finish their submissions.

So I got in under the wire? Great!

One vanilla fighter, strong sword and board for consideration.

I've never gotten past book one. Hoping for another chance.

So I fixed the personality section, I have updated that.

In-Character Writing Sample

Scera had just arrived in Sandpoint a few days ago and was still setting up what would be the storefront of her scriptorium. OK it wasn't, strictly speaking, her scriptorium as she was actually going to run it for Herb as an extension of his own business but by the gods she would be the one running it!

Finishing an entry in her financial book Scera closed it and made a gesture as she spoke a few words. The book closed and floated over to a nearby shelf behind the counter where it slid into place. The door to the shelf then closed and the lock clicked before a different book floated over to her from a nearby shelf. Had anyone else been there to see it they would have seen a floating hand of magic manipulating everything.

Scera reached up and took the book from the hand which then disappeared with a wave of her hand. Opening the book Scera began to read and found herself quite engrossed. The book was one she copied before leaving Magnimar, it wasn't her usual choice of material but rather something she had been curious about of late. While she would never admit to it what she had was a book of a rather...adult...nature. She'd reached a point of being quite curious about such things but did not want to admit to it, thus why the book's binding said it was something innocuous and extremely boring for those not interested in the subject.

Just as she was getting focused on what she was reading the back door to the shop opened and Scera, too engrossed in her book, was oblivious to this fact. There was one person she had given a key to the storefront to and that was her old friend Kiko, who resided here in Sandpoint. Kiko snuck in and, realizing that Scera was totally engrossed in her book, leaned over Scera's shoulder to read the book too.

After a short time, and an ever broadening grin on her face, Kiko finally said, "Wow! That is an interesting read you have there Scera!"

Scera, still not realizing Kiko was there, gave a scream of fright as she jumped out of her seat and nearly reached the roof. When she came down she had spun to face Kiko and stammered out, "K-k-k-kiko! How long have you been there?!"

"Long enough to see what you were reading Scera," she laughed naughtily as she continued, "If you ever want to practice any of that I would be happy to help you...or introduce you to someone." This offer, of course, led to Scera's face turning bright red and no end of teasing for quite some time thereafter.

Alright, while I’m hereby closing the recruitments, I am giving everyone who dotted a chance to finish up their characters. While I’m setting the deadline for August 22nd, if enough people finish their sheets fast enough I’ll make the deadline earlier.

@GM KoolKobold, I haven't been able to come up with a character concept for this game. And, if I'm being honest, I probably shouldn't start another 6-part AP. Hope you all have a blast though!

Dark Archive

I will go ahead and withdraw. I want to play this AP one day, but I am just not getting a good vibe with any of the builds and it looks like you have a good spread on the pool of applicants already.

Have a great game to those who get in!

In-character sample.

Just as I thought. Smugglers. Not one of the Riddleport gangs, at least not one that I recognize. From his concealed perch, Marcan watched the half-dozen crew of the boat unload a dozen or so small but apparently heavy boxes into a cave just above the waterline. Once they finished, and rowed back to their ship, Marcan slipped away, and headed back towards Sandpoint.

Later, in the back room of his shop, he pulled out a piece of parchment and a hunk of rough charcoal, and set to writing.
"Treasure in a cave is hid
Claim it for us, I do thee bid.
South of town, two miles and more
The cave sits low upon the shore.
Go fast, go swift, be brave and bold
And claim for us a lot of gold!
"
He read it back over, and nodded to himself. Should be good enough. Now I just need to get one of the goblins to "find" this... Whistling, he folded the note, and headed out towards the trash heap, hoping one of the less-bright goblins might be wandering around...

Basil looked up at the old sign outside Sandpoint, staring at the familiar face in the mirror attached to it.

Finely tanned skin, like old leather, and hair that could have benefited from a decent comb, but par for the course for someone who had been living wild the last few weeks, enjoying some solitude as he traversed the wilds of Varisia.

Still, despite all of that, there was something to be said for contact with others; no man was an island, after all.

I wonder how Rosemary has been?

It had been years since he had taken in that orphan, and whilst he would be the first to admit that he probably wasn't the best role model for a young girl trying to fit into urban society, that little girl had turned into a fine young woman, who seemed to be doing well enough for herself.

She turned out to be a surprisingly good singer. Not that I was much help there.

Basil's voice was generally raspy from lack of use, for he was not the sort of chap who would talk to himself, preferring to keep his senses sharp, and not attract unnecessary attention.

Still, he could not help letting his thoughts, at least, turn inward.

One of these days, I'll return to find that she has found a partner, and possibly even started a family. Time just seems to pass so quickly for the human-blooded!

Enmeshed in his thoughts, but with a noticeable spring in his step, Basil headed down the road to Sandpoint, eager to meet-up with old friends, and to enjoy the upcoming festival...

I’m already beginning to make selections, however, I just need those who dotted to submit some divine classes. There’s a couple in here that have some characters in the works, I’ll DM them tomorrow.

Silver Crusade

Currently working on my Cleric submission, should be up later today. Apologies, was on a weeklong vacation.

Silver Crusade

Made good progress today, I finished all the crunch and mechanics. I'll finish the background and backstory tomorrow. Thanks for your patience!

This is my/Trevor's submission for the divine full caster role. I think it contains all the requested elements in detail, only missing the writing sample at present. I have a few ideas for such scenes but writing entire scenes takes a lot of time, and I wanted to post what I already had first. I'll try and add the missing writing scene/sample tomorrow.

Rereading the character creation rules, the element of Mia's backstory of her mother resorting to substance abuse might not be PG-13/too dark. If that is an issue, it could be removed without much trouble. Instead, she just falls in with the wrong sort of friends in her teen years and ends up with the Sczarni that way.

Depends on the details. Like, specific details on the substance abuse probably won’t be allowed, but I’m not against a character struggling through something like that.

It's not the character, but her associated npc (mother). Regardless, that's good to hear. Then I'll just keep it as it is.

No problem. Will still give a few days at least before I choose all players, give the others some time to catch up. Now looking for a divine build.

RP Example:(One month before the festival.)
Veera hears the creak of the front door followed by footsteps and the shuffling of clothes. How was your day? She asks, not taking her eyes off the charcoal rubbings lying on the table.

Dreadful! Thanks to your parents. Sahlara, still halfway through taking off her coat, smacks a letter on the table forcing Veera to look up. Veera notices her parent's signature at the bottom. She laughs inwardly. They send her more letters than they send me.

Veera responds in a calm and monotone. To be fair, you chose to work at the Glassworks. You should have seen this coming. Veera turns back to her work, garnering a nasty look from her cousin.

I thought they were supposed to be the logical types. You know- like you. She exhaustedly gestures at Veera. How is my working there going to get them preferential treatment? Ugh! Sahlara plonked herself into the chair opposite Veera.

Veera shrugs. Hmmm... They're more merchants than scholars. They'll take almost any opportunity. They likely see no harm in trying... Besides giving you a headache.

Sahlara lets out a tired sigh. What about you? What are you up to?

Just taking one more look over these rubbings before I send them back to the professor.

Send them back...? Huh- yoooou're staying for the festival. Sahlara gives an excited grin. It's going to be great- wait, you said the professor was expecting you back next week.

Eh... He can manage without me for a few more weeks. Veera waves a hand in dismissal. I'm his favourite student and it's not like I'll cease studying.

Not likely needed at this point, but still going to officially bow out. Got the monk built, but not feeling the character. Think I will turn my focus to opening another table or two of my campaign.

Lots of good submissions on the list. Good luck to all and I don't envy GM KoolKobold the task of picking!

I’ll be spending the next couple days figuring out who to recruit. I have to say, all of the character submissions were great, and choosing will not be easy!

RP example: Sturdy, slightly unkempt man in his mid-twenties arrives at the edge of Sandpoint. The town is almost identical to the vision he saw couple weeks prior. His expression seems sad, while he looks at his wife.

I just can't stop wondering how my parents are doing in Nirmanthas. Fortunately neighbors promised to help them, but I would gladly have brought them with us.

"Jayan, are you certain we will prosper in this small town? Even though war has torn Nirmanthas badly, our friends and family are still there and some are fighting against Molthune." the woman says with deep concern in her voice "Honey, I understand how difficult this is, but nerves can't take the constant raids. Here I concentrate on my hobby of exploring ancient ruins and supporting our family." the man answers wiping sweat from his face

First task is to socialize with locals who share my interest in history, then need to buy some adventuring stuff. Maybe need to hire a servant for Avdikna.

RP Example?

Larry arrives back at home a day earlier than expected, a full week before the planned festivities. He is surprised to see his mother home. He sets his heavy pack in the corner, considering removing his weapon belt but decides not. Just like his armor, it is comfortable....

"'Nita? Sorry, Mom? Why are you home? Dad might need help with inventory at the shop. I'm early cause all drivers are wanted here for the parties...."

"Well, truth be that everyone wants to be here, and any that don't have a home here wants to get a room before they're all sold out." He grins. "You haven't rented out my bed have you?"

Anita gathers some bread, meat and cheese and puts a plate together as she replies. "You know we wouldn't rent out your bed. We might add a cot and squeeze you in with another." She does her best to not grin with that obvious lie, waiting for the bluster.

"Ma! You wouldn't! Unless you've got another girl that you're wanting to fix me up with!?! But you know that won't work. All the local girls know me and know that I'm not ready to support a family yet. My work earns a decent pay, but I enjoy the open road too well. Unless she wants to join caravans with me.... Well, you might as well try and direct an elf lass." He waits until he catches her eye and winks his enjoyment for that comment. "Thanks for the food. We broke fast before dawn so we could get back early. Other than that I've had naught but water today. You'll have dinner at dusk as usual of course? I'll want a base before I join others for ale."

Anita nods and turns to leave. "Of course. Now I'll get to the shop to help Rupert with the inventory. You could stop by and join us there, since you've a free week...." She leaves with a grin, knowing that Larry will follow, whether he really wanted to or not.

Here's the missing writing sample for Mia. I'm going to change her non-parents NPC to Clive Ashcraft, her town watch patrol partner. I picture him as a friend with potential to be a love interest depending on how things go. I liked him more than Coby, the orphan she knew previously.

Writing Sample for Mia:

Mia sighed inwardly. Of her new tasks, the Confessional was the most problematic one - It most underlined her lack of experience as a priestess. Especially concerning Shelyn’s doctrine! But what could be expected, when the goddess had accepted her, a former street thief, barely two months ago into her servants? And with how Father Zanthus could only spare so much time for her instructions?

”So, in short, you cheated on your partner,” She summarized towards the closed curtain.

”Ah, well... yes, mother.” The person on the other side said.

”Meaning, you feel guilty and seek Shelyn’s forgiveness?”

”No, mother.”

She blinked. ”No? What do you mean; ‘no’?”

”Well... I really liked her and would like to do it again?”

”...Let me get this straight. You’re openly admitting to adultery yet ask the servant of a love Goddess – who is technically also a member of the town guard - permission to be a repeat offender?”

There was a shuffle on the other side. ”If that’s possible without getting cursed to eternal unhappiness?”

Mia stared, slowly turning to glance at her copy of the melodies of inner beauty . As a priestess of Shelyn, the doctrine said she was supposed to nurture new love. So why oh why didn’t it say anything about whether protecting established relationships came first or whether it was the other way around!?

Okay, Plan B: Sidestepping and probing questions. Lots and lots of probing questions – have people make their own conclusions. It didn't require much knowledge, and few things made you appear more knowledgeable or likeable then pushing them in the direction they had already chosen for themselves anyway.

She ignored the pang of loss - one of father's lessons.

”Okay. Then why did do you it?”

”I… wasn’t happy. I kept worked so very hard everyday, did everything she asked, but she kept showing less interest. She became more and more critical of me and didn’t make time for us like we used to.”

”Poor sod. Was she ever really in to him at all? Sound like she plucked him like a feather at best. At worst, she's probably been cheating on him for a while too, but he’s too dumb to notice. Or maybe he isn’t and did this out of revenge, but doesn’t want to admit that - maybe even to himself.”

The half-elf shook her head. That was her assuming the worst in people. That line of thinking worked well if you had to fend for yourself. But maybe that was wrong. Sandpoint was a fairly small community and many people knew eachother. If that had been the case, someone near him or his family would have told him… right?

”It sounds like the feelings of love the two of you had for each other have waned. Perhaps it is time to go your separate ways? That way, you wouldn’t have to cheat. ”

A master's guide to pointing out the obvious - by Mia Vespertine. Get yours now at just ten gold a piece!

”There's no shame in being honest. Many relationships do not work out, after all.” She added.

The man on the other side of the curtain was silent for a while. ”I see. Thank you, Mother.”

And with that, he was gone.

Outside, her partner was waiting. Clive's s#%~-eating grin faded when she exited the temple. ”Something wrong, Freckles?”

”The full version?”

”Try me.”

”I am. And trust me, indulging in your company requires the patience of a saint.”

”Hey, problem solved! Who better to advise is lowly commoners than a saint?”

She gave him a playful punch, then sobered. ”I just... feel I'm not doing a good job being a priestess,” Mia admitted, staring over the town square from the Cathedral. ”I don't think I'm even remotely qualified to listen to people and give them advice on topics I barely know anything about myself. I just straight-up told a man to end his relationship, maybe even his marriage, based on a one-sided story with the barest amount of details. And he bought it. That sort of thing can drastically alter or ruin someone's life. I'm afraid people drastically overvalue my opinion as a priestess. That I apparently have a gift for channeling divine power doesn't mean I have the wisdom of a goddess.”

The senior, actual guardsman patted her on the shoulder. ”You know, and I mean this sincerely, that you're actually worrying about this stuff is progress.”

”That doesn't make it any better.”

”No, but then again, Elmar's girl hasn't exactly... well, been his girl for a while. He's probably better off without her and whatever remained of the relationship was doomed anyway. If I had to bet, he was only here for the formality of consulting the clergy. And the gods, of course,” he added apologetically.

”Wait. Are you telling me that you were listening in?”

He shrugged. ”I have eyes. Last one to leave before you. Doesn't take much to put two and two together.”

She stared at him.

”Okay, I might have gone in to briefly check if my beloved partner was all right in there. It was taking quite a while. I may or may not have overheard some things.” He shrugged.

”People talk. A lot . And I have to listen. Half the things, I wish I could forget right away.”

”And I know just the thing for that! Drinks at the Rusty Dragon. Let's say the first one is on me.”

The half-elf raised an eyebrow. ”Alcohol during the day? No, not just during the day, but during our shift? While I am here in penal servitude?”

He flashed another grin. ”It's called ‘inspection duty’. And we best get it done now, before the festival starts in earnest. Better make sure there isn't a nest of dragons of wyverns down there while we can, no?”

She couldn't help it – she laughed. ”Okay then. Lead the way, my oh so experienced one year senior.”

Should be announcing the selections by this weekend at the latest!

I have made my decisions and will post them tomorrow morning!

Hmm.... I would say good luck to all again, but I want that martial spot! Good luck to everybody else! LOL!!!

haha understandable, I take your luck cause I'm gonna need it for this wild card slot XD

Good luck everyone!

Good luck all!

I have to say that everyone's submissions were top notch, and it was difficult choosing just five. To those who were not selected, I send all the luck that you may be recruited to another campaign.

Will the following please report to the discussion thread to dot?

Darius Deverin, male aasimar paladin (virtuous bravado)
Wyssal Freiling, female halfling bard (sound striker/studious librarian)
Veera Yurandiel, female elf arcanist
Amita “Mia” Vespertine, half-elf cleric (herald caller) of Shelyn
Lawrence Hastings, human fighter

Congrats to those who made it.

Hey GM KoolKobold should you lose a current player to RL issues I would be more then willing to step in and fill the vacant role. PM me if you need a specific someone.

Hello everyone, our cleric has stepped away from the campaign right before the first battle happened, and we are looking for a replacement. The team is currently as follows:

-Darius Deverin (male aasimar paladin [virtuous bravado])
-Lawrence “Larry” Hastings (male human fighter)
-Tomodai “Tomo” (male elf arcanist)
-Wyssal Freeling (female halfling bard [sound striker/studious librarian])

I’ll close recruitment after 3-5 submissions then will talk with the team to figure out who to recruit.

Character Build Rules:
Point buy: 20. min 8, max 18 after modifiers. Max hp at 1st level, roll afterwards
Races: All core, plus aasimar, dhampir, tengu and tiefling. Alternate racial abilities are allowed, but no variant heritages for aasimar, dhampir and tiefling
NOTE: aasimars, dhampir and tiefling PCs have their appearance based on the other races, using the races age and height/weight modifiers, and allowing for Small aasimars, dhampir and tieflings.
Classes: All except the following: gunslinger, summoner (both versions), ninja/samurai, occult classes. cavaliers can be selected but only for Small races (due to RotRL being largely a dungeon crawling that limits the use of a large mount). If selecting monk or rogue, you must select unchained.
NOTE: For racial class archtypes, they can be selected for aasimar, dhampir and tiefling but ONLY if your character’s parentage race is the same race as the required race for the archtype (for example, the stonelord paladin archtype can be selected by aasimars, dhampirs and tieflings but only if their parentage race is dwarf)
Gold: Max for class at 1st level
Skills: Any class that has 2 ranks + Int per level instead have 4 ranks + Int per level. We will also be using Background Skills and Fractional Base Bonuses
Feats, Spells, Items: Can’t select any from Occult Adventures, or utilize psychic magic.
Traits: 3, with one being campaign. must be different types of traits. no drawbacks
Alignment: Any good preferred, but lawful neutral and true neutral can be allowed. No chaotic neutral or evil alignment
Using Elephant in the Room rules
No 3pp content for anything

Note about the GM: This will be my first PbP campaign I’ve run, and 2nd campaign I’ve run overall. If you are not fond of the idea of playing with a semi newbie GM that is completely fine.
What I expect:
-Posting at least once a day if you can help it. If for some reason you are going to be away for a time, let me know.
-No RPing in discussion, and let’s keep OOC talk out of gameplay as much as possible.
-Let’s cooperate, and if any issues arrise, let’s handle them as maturely and professionaly as possible.
-This game is all about fun!

Notes on RPing:
We will be largely RP focused, though we will have battles, obviously. To increase RP variety, I’m giving players the option to come up with one NPC-that NPC can be a family member, a childhood friend, a partner in your profession, or your character’s romantic partner. If you want a family, you can have two NPCs. These NPCs don’t need stats, as their existence is meant primarily for RP purposes.

Another thing I would like for your characters is that they’re from Sandpoint. Now this doesn’t necessarily mean they’re locals that stay-rather that they’re either born in Sandpoint, or have family in Sandpoint. This allows for flexibility if you want your character to have history in other parts of Varisia, or nearby kingdoms.
Keep any topics for backstories, personalities and RPing as PG-13. Let’s go under the rule of thumb that if it’s too much for a PG-13 movie, it might be too much for the campaign.

One more thing to note is that next week I will be away from the computer for a few weeks due to the holidays, but the campaign will still go on with me posting on mobile. Saying this in case this would be a potential dealbreaker.

I would like to resubmit Dargrin Greystone, dwarven cleric of Angradd.

I need to adjust some stuff ab out her but I have Dagny Lyght for submission

Spinning up a Cleric, will have him up by end of day.
