Upon reaching 4th level, and every four levels thereafter (8th, 12th, and so on), a fighter can choose to learn a new bonus feat in place of a bonus feat he has already learned. In effect, the fighter loses the bonus feat in exchange for the new one. The old feat cannot be one that was used as a prerequisite for another feat, prestige class, or other ability. A fighter can only change one feat at any given level and must choose whether or not to swap the feat at the time he gains a new bonus feat for the level.

Character History :
Two generations back my family moved with a group of foolish merchants to found a small village on the south side of the Fogscar Mountains. It was called Fogscar South and the idea was to trade with the goblins in the mountains. I'm sure most would call it stupid, but it was considered an untapped market. Everyone in the town had weapons and light or better armor depending on their background so the goblins could be repulsed if they decided to attack rather than barter. The idea lasted long enough to actually get buildings set up and families started before the real 'muscle' of the area moved in. There was no consideration given to negotiating and the attack started just after nightfall. While several dozen goblins could have done significant harm, the dozen or so giants with them destroyed everything.
My grandparents fought with the others until the giants were seen crushing houses with their huge weapons and it was obvious that the village was doomed. They grabbed their children and ran to the stables, throwing what little they carried into a wagon, hooking up horses and charging down the south road to Sandpoint. My aunt Adria was hit by a goblin's arrow as the wagon sped away. She died on the road.
My Grandparents worked hard to re-establish themselves at Sandpoint. They raised my father, Rupert to be a good merchant, but also to remember Fogscar South and the giants. While he wasn't a trained warrior he did learn to use sword and bow in case the giants ever attacked their new home. When his parents aged he took over the business. He met a local girl, Anita, married and started his own family. While they were relatively successful in their business, it wasn't so for their family. I was their only child....
I was born 26 years ago, and as an only child I was spoiled.... Well, I was protected. With my family's history I was taught about giants, learning early how to swing a sword and use a bow. As I grew I made friends with the local sheriff and others and learned more about fighting, wearing armor and using shields. I was far more interested in that than working with my parents' business. I was strong and could help with loading and unloading wagons. But it was boring. Being a little too sure of my fighting skills frequently got me into fights, usually with children that were bigger and older than me, or with several at once. Taking the expected beatings taught me hit fast and hard, and to run away if I was over-matched.
While my parents were disappointed with me, they did help when I decided to hire on to caravans around the area, guarding against goblin attacks and such.

You both heard a rumor that something bad happened at the Foxglove Manor, and that it’s been abandoned for a while up until recently. You don’t know the exact details, but what you do know is that farmers close to the manor refuse to step foot near it due to strange events.
