Something seemed odd about this town, Mitra’s Fist. And the tavern they were in, The Overlord’s Inn, was certainly
a bit strange as well. [Everyone in the town seemed to stare at them as they walked through, and he had heard more
than one comment about how they didn’t get any visitors here anymore. He began to wonder if they had made a
mistake coming here, but what choice did they have after their guide had died from a scorpion’s bite and a sandstorm
had driven them into this mysterious mountain pass?

Think I'm leveled. I did go with Wizard for the +1 BAB (and additional attack).

Retained my 1d6 = 3 for HP.

Big boost to HP, as the transmuter's +1 Dex went to Con! 68 HP, now!

Rogue next time, for the +1d6 additional sneak damage.

I would suggest someones using those two rings of protection those armor upgrades would be sufficient for Rhaym. Note I am technically borrowing them if when this is over the group allows me to keep them as part of my share great.

There are 2 +1 warhammers and 2 +2 Heavy Steele shields, 1 has the lion of Mitra. Thoron should already have a +2 shield that belonged to Avvakris, so that would be 3 in the party. But somehow he is showing a old +1, so if he turns in the +1, add +2, still have the ones listed available.

Easily confused, my goblin brain.

So, +2 Ring of Protection for Fralk or no?

Does Sir Rhaym need it? Fralk doesn't need it, would take a +1 ring if the +2 is more useful elsewhere.

He just doesn't have any ring, so it was an easy grab.

Rhaym upgrading to a +2 Shield of the Lion of Mitra and +2 Full Plate is plenty for him in the protection front at this point so Fralk should take the +2 Ring

However if their is a +1 Ring available after everyone has taken what they can use Rhaym could don that as well for the time being.

Oh and yes Rhaym would definitely want to utilize a +1 Hammer in case we run into any more skeletons.

Personally I do not look at it as calling dibs per se at least not for Rhaym. He just considers it borrowing it until we have concluded things and sit down and officially divvy things out.

Ummm how many belts do we have that are not ID'd? You said several that could mean from 3-9 belts.

Is there not a way to identify if an item is cursed without accepting its curse?

Personally I never give out a truly cursed item, I give out items that if cursed are a mixed blessing. Where someone might be tempted to where the devise despite the curse. Or the curse is simply a device with an attitude such as cat boots that refuse to get wet and require constant grooming.

Aka giving out a totally worthless item is to me totally meaningless and does not add at all to the fun of the game for the players. So if the game is about fun then why do that?

I don't know, the occasional cursed item seems very appropriate in old school adventures to me. Going back a bit now but I remember for some of my tabletop games we were more afraid of the loot than most of the monsters.

No one said it would useless, think of the monks belt, just have to accept being your evil twin sometimes, maybe permanently.

The cat boots are funny, their is one game they all started with cat boots, and they are all unempathetic characters. Those boots would shake things up.

It's just I know if you found 1 cursed quirky item, when working to identify items, you can either throw caution to the wind and try it, finding the benefits and consequences after the fact or be smart and find out everything before trying it.

The belt detects as Strong Magic CL 18th, so it might be worth the risk.

Identify auras while using detect magic 15 + spell level
Identify properties of a magic item using detect magic 15 + item's caster level (so 43 Spellcraft)

Some items are legendary artifacts like the viper ring, that great sword might be a minor artifact, but without precautions, I don't feel its safe to find out.

Identify
This spell functions as detect magic, except that it gives you a +10 enhancement bonus on Spellcraft checks made to identify the properties and command words of magic items in your possession. This spell does not allow you to identify artifacts.

An attended object may attempt a Will save to resist this effect if its holder so desires. If the save succeeds, you learn nothing about the object except what you can discern by looking at it. An object that makes its save cannot be affected by any other analyze dweomer spells for 24 hours.

Analyze dweomer does not function when used on an artifact.

Okay based on what I have read, as a player, I am a bit confused.

I thought our ultimate goal is to destory the Black Tower so I do not see how finding and entering the White Tower would be a bad thing.

If the White Tower is protected it would mostly be protected from evil not good. Further one would think IMO that there might be answers to the question of how one finds and destroys the Black Tower. Or at least how to restore the White Tower which would also be a good thing I would think.

As to our ultimate goal, I do not see not entering the Black Tower (but I could be wrong) is going to allow us to destory it. Usually you have to destroy strong evil from the inside out where it is the weakest.

Okay I am aware that Rhaym has a Girdle of Giant Strength +6 which with a twist of a knob can make the wearer Large in Size however what I do not know is, was this acquired on our adventures?

I checked and the +2 chain shirt is not actually an upgrade for Jim, it results in the same AC so maybe somebody else would like it? Jim's on the lookout for more studded leather if we find any.
