Don't you know:
(I know I had a dungeon master screen here somewhere)
(Who has my glow-in-the-dark twenty-sided?)
(Hey, I can't find my character sheet, where's my character-- Oh, there it is)
(That's my beer, you're going to have to roll a saving throw)
(It's here with the cheetos)
(If I catch somebody looking at my dungeon master screen, more than dice are going to roll)
(I know I gave it to somebody over here and I didn't get it back)
(You, roll for initiative)
(I can't roll)
(Eugh, now it's got yellow on it)
We were skulking through this dungeon, a mighty sorry lot
Old Galliard the fighter had been actin' like a sot
Our cleric had colitis; our torches all were wet (Uh oh)
But we had to find some treasure soon to get us out of debt (Alright, who had the damn lobster bisque?)
So Galliard and Sonja were itchin' for a fight (C'mere)
They both took the left fork, while we went to the right
And that is when we heard it: the sound of rollin' dice
We wondered why we had ignored these words of sage advice (Two words: diversified portfolio)
Don't you know you never split the party?
Clerics in the back keep those fighters hale and hearty
The wizard in the middle, where he can shed some light
And you never let that damn thief out of sight
So then we heard this bellow (Ow!) from back around the bend
We turned around to see if there was aid that we could lend
And suddenly the corridor was covered up with orcs
We fell back in a panic, feeling like a bunch of dorks (All of my dice are cubic zirconium)
The thief had pissed his leathers (no); our monk was turning blue
Our wizard got all flustered and he covered us with goo
The cleric swung his holy club, some orcish skulls to break
We tried to dodge his backswing as we pondered our mistake
Don't you know you never split the party?
Clerics in the back keep those fighters hale and hearty
The wizard in the middle, where he can shed some light
And you never let that damn thief out of sight
We finally found our fighters; they were hacking at a troll
They chopped off knees and elbows, but it kept on growing whole
Our wizard flung his fireball, his dice they did not fail
He torched that troll and left our fighters roasting in their mail (Barbeque)
The cleric had his hands full; apologies were said (I'm sorry)
We swore an oath we'd stick together just like we were wed (Yes, dear)
But then we found that sneaky thief had vanished in the gloom
We caught him stuffing pockets in the secret treasure room
Don't you know you never split the party?
Clerics in the back keep those fighters hale and hearty
The wizard in the middle, where he can shed some light
And you never let that damn thief out of sight
Don't you know you never split the party?
Clerics in the back keep those fighters hale and hearty
The wizard in the middle, where he can shed some light
And you never let that damn thief
You never let that damn thief
You never let that damn thief out of sight

Ratel Dier |

Name: Ratel AC: 24, Current ring: +1
+1 Halberd, +1 Heavy Steele Shield AC 27
After the lecture from George, Ratel left the + 1 halberd with the other gear, he's not taking anything from this loot.
I'm cool with us counting the loot wealth against him as if he took it, but he's leaving it for the NPC's to use.

"Slim" Jim |

I wasn't allowed mithril items. The +1 chain shirt would bump Jim up to medium encumbrance which is no good for a swashbuckler so he'll pass on the chain shirt.

"Slim" Jim |

Yes it's the weight, with 11 str Jim can carry up to 38 lbs as a light load. If he was to have a medium load, he'd be limited to +3 dex, also some swashbucker feats and class features like Dodging Panache don't work unless you have a light load.
He's got 16.5 lbs of other gear. Adding 20 lbs from studded leathers puts him at 36.5 lbs which is under 38lbs. A chain shirt is 5 lbs heavier at 25 lbs which is enough to put him over the edge to medium encumbrance.
If he was to find one, a mithril shirt would be 10 lbs which would be perfect but they may not be available.

"Slim" Jim |

Thanks Ratel. Actually I've realised a non-mithril chain shirt is not actually an upgrade even without the weight issue :) Studded leather allows +5 dex bonus but chain shirt has max +4 dex bonus.
Hopefully we'll find some +2 studded leather at some point.

Felix already is using a +1 mithral chain shirt. He doesn´t need a lesser one :-)
Felix, you are correct and it would be. Unfortunately you only paid 3800 GP for it and adding +1 would cost another 1000 GP which you did not have. I decided that as the time was late when you arrived, I would hand wave the requirement that it be magical and allow you to pay for it being magicked later. Roll play it that wherever you got it ripped you off. This was why we were offering you the +1 in the meantime. And yes, I had told others (specially Slim) they would not have mithral. So I could not give you both anyway and be fair. One non-magical version should not hurt the campaign but I acknowledge the inconsistency, something I usually try to avoid. I should have checked your character over carefully just like I did everyone else and I did not. My apologies to everyone. We were on the road and did not want to hold things up knowing whatever Felix had would not be unbalancing even if it was not completely RAW.
@Slim or someone probably Ciri can eventually upgrade it to +2 during down time.

I am confused the Mithral shirt costs 1100, nonmagical, and 2100 with +1 or do I miss some house rules?
But I have no problem with going nonmagical.

ok I'm changing my weapon to +2 heavy mace and upgrading to +2 ring of protection. Ciri mind putting the +1 warhammer and the +1 ring of protection in the party treasure? Unless someone else wants them.
Also, I've not heard back on how many ways to split the coins we've found. Can I get some feedback on that? I'd personally give all the silver and lower value coins to the sanctuary.

Ratel Dier |

So we want to split the money up 9 ways? 7 for the party, 1 for a backup fund and 1 for the shrine?
I like your idea for a nine-way split, I think what you called the 'backup fund' is the best way to purchase CLW wands and such for the group so those expenses don't come out of the cleric's pocket.
My concern is that we're in this tiny town and I don't see any way to spend money before we actually leave here.
Also, I have a CLW wand to use for the group that either you or Iz should carry since Ratel won't have spells due to the archetype. I'll make sure I bring it up in game later.

Mitra's Fist has a GP limit of 100 GP so gold is only useful to the party for item creation and upgrading. With 300 years of raiding caravans I am sure there is plenty of raw materials around at the Trade Monopoly. So dividing gold isn't really much of a necessity until the module is completed as there is no place to spend it.

The party needs to make a decision in this regard. What is left in town are a few shopkeepers. Evil or no, they are the villages shopkeepers. If the party is going to try and take them prisoner or kill them they will not be around to run the shops.
True, even if Ratel detects evil, unless they attack him, or do something against the law where he has authority he won't do anything to them. Though he would tell the local authorities.

But to add Glammered to it is 2700 GP for a total of 4800 GP. Your 3100 is 1700 GP short. Without the funds to pay for the magic....
I just deducted 3800 and handwaved the requirement for now.

However, you just killed the local authorities. Who are going to tell, Rufo?

Yeah, I started thinking about that, it was more of a general attitude...
Fortunately since the princess claimed the town for her kingdom, she can appoint a new sheriff, I'm recommending Rufo.

Ciri Princess of Cintra |

If you don't use the proper caster level when creating it and it gains a inconsistency, it could still be magic but work part of the time, likely how cursed items happen, mistakes, the caster may put s extended magic vestment or aura or some such to cover up the mistake and a week later, the glitch starts again. Oops.
I also can suppress magic temporarily with spells and field to siphon off a few levels to adjust it's abilities adding more magic back to fix it later, turn it off to redo it with same magic.

Ciri mind putting the +1 warhammer and the +1 ring of protection in the party treasure? Unless someone else wants them.
I’ll take the ring if no one else needs/wants it
Also, I agree with Ruffo for Sheriff.
Edit: The cleric should have the wand of clw as I already have one

nu
A ring of protection will not stack with the ring you already have, both are deflection bonuses. One +1 Ring went to Slim and the other to Rufo. There is none still available.

you already have a +2 Ring of Deflection bonus with the lion ring, plus the other benefits of a constant protection from evil (+2 saves and immunity to enchantment spells), see spell.

OMG I had glamered with 1000gp not 2700. For 2700 I would never have bought it

I posted a spoiler that no one else is supposed to read so they are not supposed to be able to help you on this one. I will post it again. It was on Friday at 6:49PM CST -6GMT in a post from Father Cornelius.

Ratel Dier |

I was working on my list of named NPC's, and have a question from when we fought in the Inn earlier. I know there were seven or eight opponents,
You walk back into the inn. You do not see the woman. In the inn at the moment are 7 people: Beldar, the bartener, 3 guys at one table that look like fighters, at another table are 2 guys in scalemail with another guy with what appears to be a breast plate with the holy symbol of Ishtar emblazed upon it. You recall it well having seen it on Moran Infidel Bane.I know Ratel killed the 'guard' wearing Infidel bane's armor.
With that the guard at the bar drops his lt crossbow and the ranger drops her sword. They surrender. The other 4 lie bleeding unconscious.
It looks like four were unconscious and the girl ranger and one guard surrendered. So do we have six prisoners?
Like I said, I was keeping track of named NPC's: we have the bartender, the female ranger and named characters: Scarvonii the Dark, Han Filo, Gernstead the Grim, Melkor Stoneteeth. Are either of those four the bartender or the female ranger? I asked Rufo to name the prisoners in game, I trust he is a reliable narrator :)

brvheart |

Melkor Stoneteeth=bartender
Scarvonii the Dark=female ranger
You have their names, I am not going to have Rufo repeat them
five prisoners
the guard does not have a name. He is not a unique NPC

brvheart |

My HeroLab is all messed up so I cannot use it until LoneWolf can fix it.

Ratel Dier |

Look in the other rooms of the constabulary, I'm still at the inn
of course just pausing to verify wo was in the constabulary and who isn't

Ratel Dier |

Folks, for reasons that are my own, I'm stepping away from this one. Good luck and good gaming. Brv thanks for running the game, we players do appreciate it.

brvheart |

I have cleared the chat archive in Roll20. My apologies for a really bad weekend here.
I am having everyone rest with the prisoners in one of the rooms at the inn under guard.
This way I hope we can continue refreshed.

brvheart |

That gives us enough to get started with. Hopefully the other two will chime in soon:)

brvheart |

Six people should be more than enough to enter the tunnels (and George of course!) Just someone needs to open one of the trap doors and step through. Well, the water may not be fine but we are adventurers, right?
