if no one else is wanting it, I’d take the ring of resistance on fang for now

Eustice is able to heal everyone back up and while you guys are taking a short break in here and going through the loot. Eustice you notice that there is a spot in the middle section between the far two metal rods that there is a well hidden location of an indentation. You think an Ioun Stone would be able to fit in the location, you think the only reason you were able to locate it is because the power was on.

This is the way to the next location so I suggest to finish this floor first but that is of course totally up to you. So where did you want to go next? Also what are you doing with the 2 unconscious creatures in the room, they are highlighted with the yellow symbol.

atlan and fang have no need to keep them alive in most cases (unless someone has a specific reason that they call out), so they’re both willing to put down any unconscious foes after the fighting is over

Yeah kill'em. Eustice would distract Kelpy with examining the iuon stone shaped indentation while they're dispatched.

While Eustice is keeping the attention of Kelpy, Atlan and Fang go and finish off the unconscious creatures. Then you all gather your things and go towards the door and open it up. You see a corridor that turns to the left and leads to a door that is partially open. You can deduce that it will lead back up to where you were before. Ahead of you see a room to the right and what looks to be bars to the left.

"The last time I led the way, I was nearly killed by hidden foes. I'll let someone a bit more perceptive sally forth this time." Eustice says, looking expectantly at Fang.

Fang smiles and swims forward. Atlan moves up a bit too, both looking for signs of danger.

Fang perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26

Atlan perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20

Fang and Atlan move up and look around.

At one end of the corridor stands a statue depicting a hooded figure with four arms. Her armor and mask are sculpted to give her the appearance of a woman, but the spaces between the plates of armor reveal that her body consists of clockwork gears. One of her arms is extended, pointing an accusing finger at a statue at the opposite end of the hallway. The other statue, standing in a semi-circular alcove behind thick steel bars, depicts a stern woman with no mouth.

Fang you see a mask laying down on the ground by the statue behind the bars.

Once you are close enough to see the statues I will take a History or Religion check to know more.

Atlan and Fang move forward a little bit more. Fang looks down to the mask is it within arms reach?

religion and history are not either of their forte.

Rolling History and Religion for Eustice

History: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31

Religion: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

Fang looks at the mask and you can reach it but you will have to pry the bars apart to get it out.

With the statue in the far part of the room you recall that this figure represents Eyndea, one of Amaznen’s servitors. A powerful kolyarut inevitable inquisitor, Eyndea punished those who broke their oaths of secrecy or shared any secret information that would harm the church or the people of Azlant.

With the statue behind the bars you know that the mouthless woman as
Lissala, an evil deity of obedience, reward of service, and runes. You also know that in ancient Thassilon, she was better known in her more warlike form, resembling a human woman with a snake’s lower half, six feathered wings, and a Sihedron rune for a head. Historians studying Azlant know her best for her rivalry with Amaznen, but according to some stories, there was a time when the two were close allies. It is said that Amaznen stole her mouth so that she would learn to keep secrets safe. Modern historians largely dismiss these stories as apocryphal, but the presence of the statue in the cathedral and the tableau it forms with the statue of Eyndea may lend some credence to such tales.

You also see there are some things on the floor further into the corridor. The one closest to you looks to be a few vials.

The shark man gives a shot at bending the bars a bit to make a gap.

Str: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Fang is unable to bend the part and you feel like youbmight not have enough strength to do so.

”Mebbe we come back fer dis one. If nothin’ else we can break it open.”. Fang snaps his jaws at the offending mask before he turns and swims further down the Colorado’s, catching up with Atlan.

Fang you see something on the ground that looks like 2 vials.

Atlan you see something ahead of you that looks like jewels or something your not really sure from that distance.

Mary and Eustice start talking back and forth and with some ingenuity you are able to manipulate it enough to get the mask free. Now you look at it and it detects as magic.

Mary Kay idly strokes her silver mask as he peers at the new item.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34

Mary looks at the mask carefully and realizes it's a cursed item called Mask of Ugliness.

Mary Kay quickly throws it down, well drops it and watches it slowly sink to the floor.

"Foul. Best to destroy and use to fuel something productive."

Fang moves up to collect the two bottles and peek around the corner into the rooms

Fang finds 2 oils of Cure Serious Wounds.

Fang Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28

To the north Fang sees.

On a large dais occupying the central position in the room is a statue of a man sitting on a throne and holding a hammer in one hand and a closed book in the other, but the statue’s head is missing. Beside it stands another statue, and four others yet remain standing among the crumbled remains of other statues that litter the floor.

Then to the south

A statue of a warrior wrestling with a giant serpent stands on a two-foot-high pedestal in this columned hall. The serpent is coiled around the warrior and has locked its jaws around her upper body. The woman holds her sword high, ready to strike the serpent’s neck again. She has cut nearly all the way through, and only a thin piece of skin keeps the head attached to the long, sinuous body. Magical light radiates from the blade of the sword, illuminating the statue and the chamber. Jagged columns of coral stand among finely carved marble columns. The remains of the south wall lie in broken pieces, allowing full view of the ocean beyond.

Fang also sees 2 rather big sharks in the distance.

Yes I know that there are 4 on the map but from your location you only see Red and Green

Stuff and Thangs:

Green: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Red: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Blue: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Yellow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

Fang as you notice Red and Green, you think Red might have noticed you as well.

Fang gestures in the direction of the sharks.

will start to gather power in the doorway where I’m at. It says “Gathering power creates an extremely loud, visible display in a 20-foot radius centered on the kineticist, as the energy or matter swirls around them.”. Sound and underwater is weird, but we’ve been kinda fast and loose with it so far. Lol. But if nothing else, it’s a visual display and lots of motion around me, which should be very noticeable.
