SCHOOL: Spells: 3: scroll of comprehend languages; lesser healing potion

NOTE: Fernardo possesses the Bespell Weapon and Recognize Spell feats.

Bespell Weapon:
Frequency once per turn: Requirements Your most recent action was to cast a non-cantrip spell. You siphon the residual energy from the last spell you cast into one weapon you’re wielding. Until the end of your turn, the weapon deals an extra 1d6 damage of a type depending on the school of the spell you just cast.
Abjuration: force damage
Conjuration or Transmutation: the same type as the weapon
Divination, Enchantment, or Illusion: mental damage
Evocation: a type the spell dealt, or force damage if the spell didn’t deal damage
Necromancy: negative damage

Recognize Spell:
Prerequisites: trained in Arcana, Nature, Occultism, or Religion Trigger: A creature within line of sight casts a spell that you don’t have prepared or in your spell repertoire, or a trap or similar object casts such a spell. You must be aware of the casting.
If you are trained in the appropriate skill for the spell’s tradition and it’s a common spell of 2nd level or lower, you automatically identify it (you still roll to attempt to get a critical success, but can’t get a worse result than success). The highest level of spell you automatically identify increases to 4 if you’re an expert, 6 if you’re a master, and 10 if you’re legendary. The GM rolls a secret Arcana, Nature, Occultism, or Religion check, whichever corresponds to the tradition of the spell being cast. If you’re not trained in the skill, you can’t get a result better than failure.
Critical Success You correctly recognize the spell and gain a +1 circumstance bonus to your saving throw or your AC against it.
Success You correctly recognize the spell.
Failure You fail to recognize the spell.
Critical Failure You misidentify the spell as another spell entirely, of the GM’s choice.

I suppose that I should have included a couple of extra special things that Gregol can do:

Illusion Sense:
When you come within 10 feet of an illusion that can be disbelieved, the GM rolls a secret check for you to disbelieve it, even if you didn’t spend an action to Interact with the illusion.

Sensate Gnome:
You gain a special sense: imprecise scent with a range of 30 feet. This means you can use your sense of smell to determine the exact location of a creature (as explained on page 465). The GM will usually double the range if you’re downwind from the creature or halve the range if you’re upwind.

In addition, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to Perception checks whenever you’re trying to locate an undetected creature that is within the range of your scent.

Scent (imprecise):
Scent involves sensing creatures or objects by smell, and is usually a vague sense. The range is listed in the ability, and it functions only if the creature or object being detected emits an aroma (for instance, incorporeal creatures usually do not exude an aroma).

If a creature emits a heavy aroma or is upwind, the GM can double or even triple the range of scent abilities used to detect that creature, and the GM can reduce the range if a creature is downwind.

Can I get some help with the boons? ... 1 faction boon, 1 advanced boon and 3 general?

Pregens don't have boons. Boons are things that come from adventures your character has played in the past, or things that you have purchased for your character with Fame points.

Valeros L3 wrote:
Am I getting it right you have 3 school points for items.

Pregens don't have schools, but they get the school items. Basically, pick two items from this list:

Holy water, lesser bomb, lesser antidote, lesser antiplague, minor healing potion, Lesser healing potion, potion of water breathing

I suggest two lesser healing potions.

Valeros L3 wrote:
overwhelming

I'll be honest - I kind of agree. It's a lot of work for at best minor improvements to the playing experience. I suggest putting in minimal effort.

For your two items, two healing potions of the highest level you can afford will always be a decent choice. Everyone loves healing.

When you start accumulating boons, there are slots, but you'll have fewer boons than slots for a while. Almost everything is a General boon, and the Advanced slot can be used to hold a General boon. You get a free Faction Champion boon when you start (the one your character is "in") so just use that for your Faction boon, and you'll probably play 5-6 adventures before you get 4 boons, and then another 3-4 before you have to make an actual choice about which boon is better. By that time, you'll be pretty acquainted with the system.

99% of the reward is playing Pathfinder, 1% is from all the Pathfinder Society stuff. But if you're not careful, 90% or even 80% of the work you put in ends up being Pathfinder with 10-20% of the work doing all the weird Society stuff like boons, and it's a pretty bad effort/reward ratio.

I found out the hard way that the scroll staff functions as a scroll. You cast from it like a scroll and you have to scribe the spell like a scroll...ie: during your downtime. I had purchased mine with the hope of casting Feather Fall from it as a reaction, but you can't. Mine has Levitate currently scribed. After this I will be 6L and will replace it with a Staff of Evocation.

If that's the case, then fine. Seeing as it's a free scroll, I don't see why it couldn't have been scribed onto the staff, but if it's not, then it's not.

My only request is that one of two things happen (preferably both):

1. You're very clear about where you're moving from and moving to.

2. After someone moves you, post a message saying you've been moved.

Otherwise, a direction like "move me 15' southeast" could accidentally get done twice. :)

We're approaching the end of the scenario (if you can't tell, I've begun filling out Chronicles).

Are any of you interested in continuing with another quest? I'm probably going to offer Quest #5 (Dragon who Stole Evoking Day) or Quest #8 (Shadows of the Black Sovereign).

I've played both on VTT. Q5 was very fun, Q8 was meh when I played it but primarily because my Internet connection was so poor that I had a real hard time understanding everyone (one of the reasons I want to run it is because I'm still not 100% sure what happened).

I haven't purchased either scenario, but if there's at least 3 of you from this quest that can agree on one of those two, I'll do that one and do open recruitment for the remaining seats.
