Character Level: Wizard(Evoker)/5
PFS #: 55792-2001
Faction Boon Slotted: Grand Archive Champion

Conjuration or Transmutation: the same type as the weapon
Divination, Enchantment, or Illusion: mental damage
Evocation: a type the spell dealt, or force damage if the spell didn’t deal damage
Necromancy: negative damage
If you are trained in the appropriate skill for the spell’s tradition and it’s a common spell of 2nd level or lower, you automatically identify it (you still roll to attempt to get a critical success, but can’t get a worse result than success). The highest level of spell you automatically identify increases to 4 if you’re an expert, 6 if you’re a master, and 10 if you’re legendary. The GM rolls a secret Arcana, Nature, Occultism, or Religion check, whichever corresponds to the tradition of the spell being cast. If you’re not trained in the skill, you can’t get a result better than failure.
Critical Success You correctly recognize the spell and gain a +1 circumstance bonus to your saving throw or your AC against it.
Success You correctly recognize the spell.
Failure You fail to recognize the spell.
Critical Failure You misidentify the spell as another spell entirely, of the GM’s choice.
Gregol Silverbeard |
I suppose that I should have included a couple of extra special things that Gregol can do:
In addition, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to Perception checks whenever you’re trying to locate an undetected creature that is within the range of your scent.
If a creature emits a heavy aroma or is upwind, the GM can double or even triple the range of scent abilities used to detect that creature, and the GM can reduce the range if a creature is downwind.

Can I get some help with the boons? ... 1 faction boon, 1 advanced boon and 3 general?
Pregens don't have boons. Boons are things that come from adventures your character has played in the past, or things that you have purchased for your character with Fame points.
Am I getting it right you have 3 school points for items.
Pregens don't have schools, but they get the school items. Basically, pick two items from this list:
Holy water, lesser bomb, lesser antidote, lesser antiplague, minor healing potion, Lesser healing potion, potion of water breathing
I suggest two lesser healing potions.
overwhelming
I'll be honest - I kind of agree. It's a lot of work for at best minor improvements to the playing experience. I suggest putting in minimal effort.
For your two items, two healing potions of the highest level you can afford will always be a decent choice. Everyone loves healing.
When you start accumulating boons, there are slots, but you'll have fewer boons than slots for a while. Almost everything is a General boon, and the Advanced slot can be used to hold a General boon. You get a free Faction Champion boon when you start (the one your character is "in") so just use that for your Faction boon, and you'll probably play 5-6 adventures before you get 4 boons, and then another 3-4 before you have to make an actual choice about which boon is better. By that time, you'll be pretty acquainted with the system.
99% of the reward is playing Pathfinder, 1% is from all the Pathfinder Society stuff. But if you're not careful, 90% or even 80% of the work you put in ends up being Pathfinder with 10-20% of the work doing all the weird Society stuff like boons, and it's a pretty bad effort/reward ratio.

I found out the hard way that the scroll staff functions as a scroll. You cast from it like a scroll and you have to scribe the spell like a scroll...ie: during your downtime. I had purchased mine with the hope of casting Feather Fall from it as a reaction, but you can't. Mine has Levitate currently scribed. After this I will be 6L and will replace it with a Staff of Evocation.
Gregol Silverbeard |
If that's the case, then fine. Seeing as it's a free scroll, I don't see why it couldn't have been scribed onto the staff, but if it's not, then it's not.
Fernardo Mattero |
I forgot to mention I had to put my computer in the shop and will be restricted to tablet use until Friday the 31st. If someone would be kind enough to move me I would appreciate it.
GM Watery Soup |
My only request is that one of two things happen (preferably both):
1. You're very clear about where you're moving from and moving to.
2. After someone moves you, post a message saying you've been moved.
Otherwise, a direction like "move me 15' southeast" could accidentally get done twice. :)
Gregol Silverbeard |
Not sure why you only have me highlighted to go, GM Watery Soup. I literally posted right before you did. ;)
GM Watery Soup |
So you did ... not sure what happened there. I either missed an entire post or something funky. Apologies.
Fernardo Mattero |
From what I can see, it would appear that I do not have LoS with anyone except Green from my current position and the Gnome is completely hidden in the forest again. Am I correct?
GM Watery Soup |
The woods is difficult terrain, but they were only hidden before because they were actively hiding. You are able to target with spells.
Fernardo Mattero |
Stupid question time: do we tell you what we want to try and our modifer, and then you roll of do we roll so we can use our Hero Point.
On aside note, did anyone gain a second point after the battle? (Personally, I think Arlo went above and beyond.)
GM Watery Soup |
1. You can roll, and you can use your Hero Point if you want to reroll.
2. Yes - thank you for reminding me. I agree, Arlo's color spray was yuge, and he gets a second Hero Point.
Arlo of the Solemn Towers |
Thank you.
I was afraid it was a little too risky in retrospect. I suppose it did buy a few of our front liners an extra turn.
I'm sure that hero point will come in handy when we start rolling these skill checks.
GM Watery Soup |
Bdubs, can you give me the PFS number and faction for the character this credit would likely be applied to?
I can change it later, but I'll need a placeholder now to report the game.
GM Watery Soup |
We're approaching the end of the scenario (if you can't tell, I've begun filling out Chronicles).
Are any of you interested in continuing with another quest? I'm probably going to offer Quest #5 (Dragon who Stole Evoking Day) or Quest #8 (Shadows of the Black Sovereign).
I've played both on VTT. Q5 was very fun, Q8 was meh when I played it but primarily because my Internet connection was so poor that I had a real hard time understanding everyone (one of the reasons I want to run it is because I'm still not 100% sure what happened).
I haven't purchased either scenario, but if there's at least 3 of you from this quest that can agree on one of those two, I'll do that one and do open recruitment for the remaining seats.
Gregol Silverbeard |
With the pace we kept on this one, I think that I'd be down for another Quest. Really doesn't matter which one.
Teja Khellekdottir |
Normally I'd jump at this, but I am trying to back away from games this term as I'm pretty busy. But thanks very much for the offer.
GM Watery Soup |
That's all, folks!
Primary Objective: Recover the documents [X]
Amateur Adjuster Boon: 12 points [X]
Chronicles for everyone except Valeros can be found here.
Valeros, I will need a PFS number before I can complete your sheet, and I'll upload it inot the same folder.
Nina Jaribu |
Emira Nina Jaribu, of House Jaribuni, hears the tales of your exploits. She invites you to be guests of honor at a shipwreck-themed cotillion in Vidrian.
Performance: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
It is an extraordinary success.
GM Watery Soup |
For anyone who's rolling over into Q5, please post in this Gameplay.
Valeros L3 |
Missed a lot while off at work.
If credit can go to my 1st level character: # 2390809-2001 great.
Like previously stated this was my first PFS so im still learning.
As long as you're still okay showing me some of the ropes I'd hope in again.
GM Watery Soup |
Inactivating this campaign. PM me with anything else you need.
