Same.

Rulean |

Working on the updates.
Are there spells that:
* Will purify water, like the fountain we found that was befowled
* Will take care of Sickened condition
Also would Cleanse Air help against xulguth for one battle?

Rulean |

Since it seems we are going to be pulled away from the circus, new characters could include other people than just those with the circus. I could easily see us picking up someone with the guards or recommended by the town guards. Plenty of other options that could easily work.
I don’t want to derail anyone’s ideas, just wanted to point out new characters probably do not need to fit the circus.

GM Blake |

I think I've got my new character built, except for equipment. How much gold/whatever - mindful that we've got ABP rules going - do we have to work with?
Ah, that's a question in ABP that I wasn't prepared for.
Let's say double Currency, so 250 gp for Level 7 to spend on mundane equipment and consumables. You do still technically have all the previous unclaimed treasure and whatever claimed treasure relinquished back--I'm sure Leaf would hand over the gloves to those still venturing into the dangerous wild.

Rulean is updated.
Replace Communal Healing with Warpriest’s Armor
Replace Selective Healing with Restorative Strike
Will need to replace my armor with Full Plate.
Will change around spells prepared a little still, but would like answers on these questions.

Cleanse air is a great find, happy to prep it. Leveled but picking couiple new 4th-level spells… should buy some gear too.

GM Blake |

Sorry, Rulean, I got distracted.
While I like the 1e lore that troglodyte stench is a psychic effect, that hasn't been codified in 2e. I'll rule that Cleanse Air can suppress the xulgath stench within the area. Keep in mind that xulgath stench extends 30 ft out from the xulgath.
Restoration (2nd rank) reduces a condition's value by 2.
Sound Body (2nd rank) allows you to counteract an effect inflicting several physical negative conditions including sickened.
Long story short, there's a ritual that you need to perform to cleanse the pool. It's hidden under the layers of gore that need to be washed away. The clue was in a spoiler for Ephie.
I don't know of a spell that would cleanse water of that volume.
I'll bring you back into the action tomorrow with the cleaning of the walls in the pool room.

Ephraim Critchlow |

I'll get a post in over my lunch break and pass on the ritual info too.
Feeling weirdly uninspired by L4 spells… maybe heighten invis and a blast blast spell.

Cinder Swarm looks interesting but suffers from doing fire damage. Seems to me that if we are going against demons and such, need to keep their resistances in mind.
Life Draining Roots is a little creepy but interesting.
Seal Fate looks like the type of thing Mr. Splinters would do.
Vampiric Maiden is one that my Summoner really likes. They usually reflavor it as Draconic jaws closing on the victim.

If hero points reset I may reroll that feel free to bot. I don't like failing at my master skill.

Tikomel |

Not entirely sure how to run Scrounger. Hoping that what I have posted makes sense. At least for building a weapon.
Now, the other thing is that the weapons fall apart too. Rules say 1d4 hours. I'm not entirely sure how to adapt that to a PbP setting or if it even needs adaptation. Since the GM rolls it, I'll leave it up to Blake to decide when it is no longer usable. Though getting some warning about it so that I can build a new one prior to adventuring further into unknown hostile territory with no weapon would be appreciated.
I'm also open to adjustments such as: weapon always breaks down right after a battle and needs to be replaced then. This archetype is mostly for fun and flavor. I think that no matter how it is run it won't be better in combat than just carrying around an actual weapon.

GM Blake |

Did I not make a Hero Point tracker for this campaign..? Must not have.
Yes. This is essentially--you were one room short of finishing the upper level--the next chapter.
All Hero Points reset to 1.
EDIT: I am considering your suggestion, Tikomel.

GM Blake |

Contractor chaos at my house. Apologies. I will get this combat rolling just as soon as I have enough time to put the parts together.

Tikomel |

I made a clerical error in your favor. FYI: you will not critically hit so easily.
This seems relevant.

Greenbrier |

Hey folks, finally checking in. First off, I want to apologize for dropping off the face of the Earth for the last several weeks. Everything basically snowballed - work/life busyness cut into the free time more than usual, then when I *had* the free time I'd either be tired/unable to focus on writing or had other things seeking my time, and so the longer I went without posting the harder it got to want to sit down and post even though I knew I needed to at least check in with folks if nothing else. I definitely have a better understanding of and sympathy for others who've ghosted games and then later returned to explain how things happened and they fell into a shame/embarrassment cycle mental block about the lack of posting.
It also doesn't help that there was and still is an undercurrent of me just not really feeling Pathfinder in general as of late. Even with 2e simplifying the game in a lot of ways that I actually appreciate and enjoy, it's felt like there's just so much to keep track of and every time I turn around there's another 3 or 4 classes coming out or another big setting book or it's already time for another brand new year of PFS and the usual metaplot to go with it. So I've been in a weird place where I've missed the *people* but not...really missing playing all that much. Which also made me feel guilty, even though I logically know it shouldn't.
All that said, my interest level in hobbies tends to wax and wane over time so my Pathfinder lull isn't likely to be permanent. It's taken me longer than I expected just to try and figure out what I wanted to say in this post but I know you guys have probably been botting/delaying Greenbrier in my absence. I'll try and get to get caught up myself tomorrow/later today (since it's 3am local time as I type this). After that, I'll try and figure out what I want to do when it comes to playing and our campaign together, if that's okay. Thanks again and I'm sorry for worrying everyone.

GM Blake |

I'm happy to hear that Lady Ladile is OK. :)
FYI. My internet line got cut. Trying to squeeze PbP in at work has been tricky.

Tikomel |

Commiserations to all.
For myself, I have been dealing with autistic burnout. So I haven't been upset at all about the bit of hiatus.

Rulean |

I will not have much time for PbP until June 25th. I am attending Origins Game Fair.
Hopefully GM Blake will get their internet access fixed before then.
If things start going again, please bot my character. I haven’t updated my botting for the Restorative Strike feat. I believe this will cause Rulean to use more two action attacks with the Pick combined with a one-action heal.

GM Blake |

It's the start of a new chapter, so everyone should have 1 hero point.
The recall knowledge is Religion DC 21 or Society/Occultism DC 25.

GM Blake |

I'll tell you, since I don't want us to get stuck here: this is one of the rooms where the lesson us "don't be greedy" (or come back later). There's a clue in the room description as to how the trap is deactivated.

Rulean |

I don't have Religion.
Can I interest you in Occultism or Thievery?
I don’t think you want my Untrained Aid in either of those. :)

Tikomel |

My thought is that Aid doesn't absolutely require the same skill to be used. As long as the skill used for Aid makes sense. GM call though.
But it may be a better idea to pay more attention to the in-world descriptions and try a different approach.

Rulean |

Preparing for GenCon so it is unlikely I will mess with the puzzle before August.
Probably has to do with the missing masks and the aspects of Aroden. Right now Rulean is fine with leaving it and going to the library later to look up the aspects. The player could get most of them, but the RK says Rulean really hasn’t paid that much attention to the dead god of humanity.

GM Blake |

I'm posting this to all of my tables: My apologies for my delays and/or minimal posting for the past few weeks. There has been an unusually burdensome conflux of time sensitive urgencies both at home and at work, some anticipated and some not. Things are beginning to finish up, but I expect it to take another week until I'm above water.

GM Blake |

I'm not dead yet, but things have been tough. I apologize for not keeping you all as updated as my games with Slack channels.
