Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, so you have my sympathies. Thanks for the update and take all the time you need :)

A series of unplanned property emergencies preceding a busy work week and probably coupled with some form of seasonal affective disorder triggered by returning from much close to the equator and sunny to the dreary winter of the US midsouth plus the sleep deprivation enforced by my crazy darling children.

I've updated the macros page to Doug Hahn's 3.0.
I tried to copy them over for you since many of you updated the old form, and I can chip away at it, but it's almost guaranteed to be faster if you do it.
The advantage for me is that it allows you to add comments to the dice expressions (e.g., "Unmistakable Lore") and includes saving throws when I need to hurry your saves along.
The box "Send to GM" should be clicked for any skill you want me to roll for you automatically.
Ephie can explain any other features.
Oh, and I should note that the Lore section has a bunch of random lore names. Just write over them. :)
EDIT: I copied over Nabi's. I'm pretty sure they're old numbers/not reflective of Level 5.

I keep forgetting to inform you: Hero Points reset at the beginning of the Book.
I'm going to take another page out of Doug Hahn's book and reset your Hero Points each chapter.

GM Blake |

So is the doc in the campaign information correct, I have one hero point?
I believe so. Only Ephie and Nabi have spent one so far, right?

Ephraim Critchlow |

Yes. BTW I am prototyping a hero point spreadsheet in another campaign: Hero point tracker because I like Blake's idea of keeping it all in a separate doc.
I like having a note associated with where it was spent/awarded. Would be interested in feedback.
I also have a Hero Points tally at the bottom of each PC's profile.

Nabi Salekhet |

I got a question for my Champion, the PFS character I gave the chronicles to.
He uses a glaive, as he is a servant of Sheylin, which is a two handed weapon.
he's got "Shied block" feat, but he can't even use a buckler with his glaive, right?
Buckler:
You can Raise a Shield with your buckler as long as you have that hand free or are holding a light object that’s not a weapon in that hand.

Ephraim Critchlow |

That's correct.
My 2-h champ uses a Dusty Rose Prism Aeon Stone to get the shield cantrip/.

Rulean |

Circus Lore to Support an Argument on someone who hasn’t been supported would work.
Just need to roll a 12 or better in order to give a +1, only crit fail on a 1 or 2.
You could support either Ephraim or Song. Not sure which would be better, but the DCs for Lore tend to be slightly easier.
I don’t know what we need for a success, which is frustrating.

Song-of-Air |

You only need a 12 to support? Maybe I should have supported instead. I'm worried that my roll was too low.

GM Blake |

It's just standard DC for level modified if you happen to use a predetermined good or bad argument.

Rulean |

Assuming a level 5 task, that would be DC 20. Thanks!
Should have thought to look up the DC by level before this.
——-
So for this social interaction, we should look to support anything that is a 19, 29 or just below that with particularly strong roleplay or we think she would be inclined to accept.

GM Blake |

Not sure if Leaf-On-Wind can contribute any more to the discussion without making things worse.
You can also Sway Andera by using a Lore skill relevant to your argument. Circus Lore would certainly apply to a number of arguments. If you can't think of anything to say, you can just describe the gist of your argument and roll. :)

Leaf-On-Wind |

Are there any penalties for using a skill more than once?

Leaf-On-Wind |

Bret,
Thank you for taking on the bot there.
Had a *very* rough spot for the past near-week trying to think of *anything* could post, and failing.
Was going to post today with something weak but you did a far better job than I could have.

GM Blake |

I'll get a description of the valley up today for you to play off of, but in the meantime, the actionable data I need is how you and the circus will be handling day/night watching for the rumored beasts and thieves that may or may not exist.

Rulean |

I think three shifts of four hours each should do it. Two PCs and two NPCs on each shift.
We would likely start by trying to just cover the minimal area needed for our camp. After we’ve cleared some of the land we would expand.
Does this seem right to others? Please say something if you have a different idea.

Ephraim Critchlow |

Sounds good but do we need to cover 24 hours, or 12 hours?

Song-of-Air |

I feel like I just let the party down for not yelling that creepy doll is right, we need to negotiate for a better deal. If we're clearing land and eliminating monsters, we should get that lease for free.

Ephraim Critchlow |

Yeah Ephie isn't charismatic to negotiate, but it's not a big deal. This NPC has decent leverage because there's a competing circus in town and I doubt it would have made much noticeable difference.

Rulean |

I was covering 12 hours in order to get everyone 8 hours sleep. I think during the day everyone is awake so we can see what is out there and deal with it.

We will need some good will to counter whatever Mistress Dusklight does to sabotage our stay here. I figured it was close enough to a reasonable deal.

Yeah, my read was that someone may need to be on watch during the day as we'll essentially be working on a large job site doing manual labor and such.
Maybe we'll be ok not watching and just being in the vicinity while we work, not sure.

Rulean |

@GM Blake,
With our Circus and Song’s Bardic Lore, do we feel that we need a 24 hour watch and how many people would we want per watch?
@Everyone
If it does go to 24 hours, do we just want to use the same watches for the other 12 hours? When something happens we would still have two NPCs watching. I’m sort of assuming our Perception modifiers are better than the NPCs.

GM Blake |

You figure it would be impossible to guard the entire work force spread out across the small valley while they're working, but it will be much easier to hear a cry for help or spot trouble from a distance during the day.
Four people should be adequate for keep an eye on the perimeter of your wagons, pens, and tents until the big top is erected. And you do have enough NPCs to assign adequate surveillance during the day and night if you want to just let your PCs sleep.

You should have seen the crappy deal you get if Delamar wins the minigame.

GM Blake |

Let me know who will be where during which shifts. You don't need to pick the NPCs (you can if you want to, but you don't need to try to guess who would be good at doing what). Clearly, I'm just asking this for completely innocent reasons that will present no danger whatsoever. :)

Ephraim Critchlow |

Assuming we go with Rulean's plan Ephie will take the first shift at night.

Rulean |

I think we are using this plan.
I think three shifts of four hours each should do it. Two PCs and two NPCs on each shift.
So two PCs on each shift. Right now we are one PC per shift.

GM Blake |

Presumably, Clover and/or Nabi will wake the whole team to at least discuss rather than just the 3rd shift?

GM Blake |

The circus is in a sort of rock and a hard place. There's only one plot of land available for rent near the city in order to perform. The only other option is to disband since you can't afford sea travel for the entire circus yet and nowhere else on the island is going to be able to support you.

Bro, is there something I can do to help you find your groove? I realize that maybe I haven't given you enough sibling roleplay of late.
