DM Trawets |

Leothar shuts the door.
I thought you went around the corner with the others Ian. If you stayed out where you are on the map your daylight runs north south in the corridor and into the hall to the east. You get a little spread at the north and south ends but not enough to see the other door. Remember daylight doesn't light up deeper darkness. They only cancel each other out.

Leothar |

"Help me spike the doors!"
I have no idea how this might be accomplished mechanically, what physical resources we have available, or what actions I need to take this round.

Dadna Cloudbreaker |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 - 8 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 8 = 3
Dadna barely summoned the strength to open her eyes, let alone to actively join the search. If they were to accomplish this then it would be best to not rely on her.

Enos Flamebrother |

Enos will give some thought to the nearby rooms that they've based through and whether there was anything usable for hammer and spikes or a wedge. He has some bowyer tools, would that include a saw if he can find a wooden item that could be broken down?

DM Trawets |

Enos Flamebrother |

Enos says, "Hold the door, maybe there's something in these quarters."
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35

Enos Flamebrother |

Enos rifles through the desk, also, before going to the other quarters, as well.

Leothar |

Leothar will drop his shield (move) and draw his Waraxe (move).
If nobody finds something better, then next round he will try to wedge the axe blade under the door as a full-round action.
"They can't hear us talking out here because of the Silence in there. That's something."

Enos Flamebrother |

Enos comes out, having apparently found nothing in either room.
"It looks like all I've got are wooden furniture that could be broken. Should I try to lock the other door? Or do we just post a watch on each door? I'm guessing his magic has nearly expired."

Dadna Cloudbreaker |

Nope. She is slumped against the wall. 8 negative levels are not something one laughs at

Ardriel Zinro |

Ardriel sighed in irritation. "I don't see anything else that can hold the door shut. I could channel some magic and cause one of the doors to hold in place. It will only last for about 10 minutes, though. One moment."
Ardriel will spend a Mythic Point to use Wild Arcana and cast Hold Portal on one of the doors. It will have a 10 minute duration. I'm assuming we're waiting for the Summon to expire and then going in.

DM Trawets |

Ardriel looks down the hallway past Ian and uses some of his mythic power to hold the door shut.
From the other doorway Leothar and Ardriel see first one demon and then the other step out into the hallway. The first one points a finger at Leothar and a sickly ray hits him draining the life out of him and then all is dark around the demons.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 Levels: 1d4 ⇒ 4
To try and get a handle on the lighting I have drawn the edges of the light darkness spells from their current points. The areas with the moon are darkvision only. The area with the sun is daylight. As Ian moves the daylight will move with him causing the areas to change.

Dadna Cloudbreaker |

Move action gets me right next to Leothar. Can I use Inspired Spell to cast this?
"Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Targets one weapon/level, no two of which can be more than 20 ft. apart
Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw Fort negates (harmless, object); Spell Resistance yes (harmless, object)
DESCRIPTION
Each weapon this spell affects each shines with pale light that dimly illuminates a 5-foot square. These weapons also ignore the DR of evil creatures that have DR 5 or lower, as long as the damage reduction is not DR/epic."
Mythic point to cast the spell. If I read the spell right, it causes illumination 5ft in front of us, which should allow Leothar to actually attack this round.
[ooc]If that isn't allowed, then I'll cast mythic bless
"The +1 morale bonus applies on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, and all saving throws. Once during the spell’s duration, an affected creature can roll an attack roll or saving throw twice and take the higher result. The target must decide to use this ability before the first roll is attempted."
----------------------
Forcing herself to her feet, Dadna moved forward. She would rather die than fall back, as to do so would be anathema to everything she stood for as a paladin. Calling on her goddess, she fervently prayed for her blessings.

Leothar |

"Ian, move to me!"
Once he can see the demons (whether through Ian's movement or Dadna's spell or something else), Leothar will drop his axe, 2-hand Radiance, 5' step and full attack the wounded demon (which is his Smite target), then use Fleet Charge for an extra attack. Fleet Charge doesn't ignore AOOs, so they can take those after the attack is resolved, but Leothar isn't too worried about their melee attacks. Just moving 5' north so remaining in melee.
Confirm?: 1d20 + 16 + 3 + 2 - 3 - 6 ⇒ (18) + 16 + 3 + 2 - 3 - 6 = 30
Crit Damage: 3d8 + 24 + 9 + 9 + 2d6 + 78 ⇒ (2, 7, 2) + 24 + 9 + 9 + (5, 5) + 78 = 141
With Mythic Power attack, Bonus damage is first doubled from 13 to 26, and then multiplied by the weapon's crit multiplier, which I think means a total of 78 damage here. It would be 52 for a x2 weapon, 78 for a x3 weapon).
Iterative: 1d20 + 11 + 3 + 2 - 3 - 6 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 3 + 2 - 3 - 6 = 9
Damage, Smite, Bull's Strength, Holy: 1d8 + 8 + 3 + 3 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 3 + 3 + (2, 1) + 13 = 36
Fleet Charge Attack, Smite, Bull's Strength, PA, 6 negative levels, Tier: 1d20 + 16 + 3 + 2 - 3 - 6 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 16 + 3 + 2 - 3 - 6 + 2 = 26
Damage, Smite, Bull's Strength, Holy: 1d8 + 8 + 3 + 3 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 3 + 3 + (6, 5) + 13 = 40
If he drops Orange, he will transfer his Smite to Blue.
+1 to hit and damage if Mythic Bless is in effect (for +3 damage on the crit).
Mythic Power down to 1.

Ian Passeri |
Hearing Leothar call out, Ian moves forwards towards his friend, calling on the armor of the pious and then his Holy shield.
Move 15 ft Swift: armor of the pious, Standard: holy shield
Armor of the Pious: AC 28 1/10 rds. swift action to increase the armor’s enhancement bonus to +2 for 10 rounds. For this duration, the armor also grants a +2 sacred bonus on saving throws. A paladin wearing armor of the pious can use her lay on hands ability one additional time per day; a mythic paladin wearing armor of the pious also gains one additional use of mythic power per day.
For all of you:
Mythic Focus: Whenever a mythic ally that is within 30 feet uses the surge ability, it rolls its bonus die twice and takes the higher result.
Holy Shield: + 3 1/8 rds All allies adjacent to the paladin gain a shield bonus equal to the sacred shield’s own shield bonus, including any increase from the shield’s enhancement bonus. This bonus does not stack with any existing shield bonuses. The paladin herself radiates light as a light spell while the shielding is active.

Enos Flamebrother |

I cannot make out on the map where the door is and thus my route to the scrum. Assuming I hear Leothar's shout if Ian can, Enos will move to join the party with all haste, drawing both kukris as he does. The original nabasu is his smite target, but his weapon bond is on the shortbow.

Ardriel Zinro |

Ardriel moved after Ian, able to see as he advanced and took a position behind the other. He then fired an arrow at the demon he had previously smote Orange was the original target of my Smite Evil, which lasts until I use Smite Evil again.
Alternative action: If Leothar has finished off Orange, I will use Smite Evil as a swift action on Blue, and ask that you resolve the attack against Blue.
Attack, Mythic PBS, Mythic Bless, Smite: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 4 = 27
Damage, Mythic PBS, Mythic Bless, Smite: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 + 1 + 9 = 19 +9 damage if this hits Blue after I smote him.

DM Trawets |

Leothar moves next to the demon and Radiance smashes into his head causing a grievous wound. He then brings Radiance up and completely shatters his head and the body falls to the floor.
Ardriel then moves down behind the group and smites the remaining demon and puts an arrow into him.
The remain demon looks shocked and flies back and up the stairs. That is an AoO from Leothar. He stares the party down and you feel yourselves getting stiff. Everyone please make a will save to avoid being held.
Round 15
Party Up
NB 28

Leothar |

AOO, smite, Bull's Strength, Mythic Bless, 6 negative levels: 1d20 + 16 + 3 + 2 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (9) + 16 + 3 + 2 + 1 - 6 = 25
Damage, Smite, Bull's Strength, Mythic Bless, Holy: 1d8 + 8 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 3 + 3 + 1 + (1, 1) = 21
Apply whatever PA modifiers you deem appropriate.
Will, Mythic Bless, 6 negative levels: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 1 - 6 = 24
Leothar follows the demon and strikes it again.
It looks like 50' exactly even counting all the stairs as difficult terrain (which stairs are not always).
Again using Power Attack - apply whatever you deem appropriate.
Attack, smite, Bull's Strength, Mythic Bless, 6 negative levels: 1d20 + 16 + 3 + 2 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (11) + 16 + 3 + 2 + 1 - 6 = 27
Damage, Smite, Bull's Strength, Mythic Bless, Holy: 1d8 + 8 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 3 + 3 + 1 + (4, 2) = 28
Still have the Mythic Bless ability to use, as well as 1 remaining Mythic Power.

I don’t know if I made it back into the room last round.
Will save as I assume I was in the room: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 9 - 1 = 24
Do I have an turn yet? I didn’t count the Mythic Bless as I wasn’t in the room when it was cast.

Enos Flamebrother |

Thanks to whoever moved Enos' token on the map. From his current position, on my turn, he should be able to double move up to the demon including difficult terrain (I think). If that's the case, he will rush forward, kukris in hand.

Dadna Cloudbreaker |

Will: 1d20 + 13 + 2 - 8 ⇒ (11) + 13 + 2 - 8 = 18
Double move if passed

Dadna Cloudbreaker |

Mythic bless?

Ardriel Zinro |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Right! Mythic Bless!
Will, Mythic Bless reroll: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Fortunately, Dadna's spell fills him, and he breaks free of the hold. He pursues the demon, firing yet another arrow at it.
Attack, Mythic PBS, Mythic Bless, Smite: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 4 = 32
Damage, Mythic PBS, Mythic Bless, Smite: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 + 1 + 9 = 17

Dadna Cloudbreaker |

Frozen by demonic magic, all Dadna could do was stay trapped, a prisoner in her own body. It was fortunate that she had comrades to protect her while in such a helpless state.

Enos Flamebrother |

Enos likewise protects the paralyzed paladins, pacing and pausing to listen periodically for threats. He mutters to himself, obviously irritated about something.
Finally, he says, ”Well done, Leothar. Wish I had been of some use. I did not represent my goddess well.”

Ian Passeri |
Is the darkness still a factor?
Shaking off the sensation of being paralyzed Ian breaths a prayer of thanks to Iomedae. Gesturing towards the room the demons came out of, Ian begins to walk that direction. "Even though these two were trying to escape, we should not assume they did not leave any evil behind."
Keeping his sword and shield at the ready Ian heads into the abandoned room. F11a

Leothar |

"Neither Ian, nor Dadna, nor I are in any condition to face additional foes until these necromantic effects have been removed. We should see if the planetar can help, or the casters in the army.
We have reason to think there is still a succubus about, and such foes can also drain the life from us."

Dadna Cloudbreaker |

With a weary groan Dadna nodded. ”Right. To the planatar first. Our army has limited resources which others may need. Then we need to tell our forces what has occurred. We cannot allow ourselves to die here without the citadel being secured, lest the banner be lost again.”
Much of the fire in her voice was gone, replaced by insidious and creeping doubt. She did not have it in her to try and lift Enos’ spirits when she felt the same as he did. Still, she tried to steel herself to continue. Regardless of how hopeless the task ahead of them was, it fell on them to do it. Because if not then, then who else?

Enos Flamebrother |

Enos tries to overcompensate for his good fortune, trying to make sure no threats reach his allies unchallenged as they travel to the Sword of Valor and its protector. At the planetar’s remark, he scowls. Taking a deep breath to regain a respectful tone, he offers, ”We all survived. They did not. Are you able to aid my allies so that we can return to the fight? Have you detected where the remaining demons might be? I don’t know all you can do.”
Enos is going to refuse any aid unless the others are restored. He’s barely been touched.
