All is not peaceful in the roiling heart of the Pact Worlds' sun!
A mysterious entity from the plane of fire has set their eyes on the star, intent on seizing it for themselves. But unable to explore the depths of their star, the people of the Pact Worlds remain unaware of the threat. Can the heroes piece together the clues to what’s happening in time? Or will their extraplanar nemesis' mysterious plan change the nature of the Pact Worlds forever?
------------------------------
What is this?
Welcome to this recruitment for the Dawn of Flame AP played in PbP here on the forums. This is a 1-12 Starfinder Adventure Path that brings PCs from the surface of the Pact Worlds' sun down into its inner depths, eventually facing down strange and alien threats from other planes. Its a bit more science-fantasy than the other APs, but not dramatically so.
------------------------------
About Me:
I'm an experienced Starfinder GM here on the boards, currently GMing a long-running Dead Suns campaign as well as the occasional Starfinder Society game. I run consistent, reliable games with a higher than average focus on roleplay. I enjoy expanding and extrapolating upon the content in an AP to shape it around the characters that the players bring to the table - and to that end, I like GMing for players that engage themselves with the setting, narrative, and the stories brought by their fellow players.
------------------------------
Recruitment Details:
This will be a fairly fast moving play-by-post, running 1-2 GM posts per day every day including weekends. I expect players to keep up 1 post per day minimum - more if possible or if the situation warrants it. I'll warn from the get-go that I will replace players that can't keep this pace up long term (though as usual, if you have conflicts and vacations that stop you from posting for a few days, just give the group a heads up and it'll be no problem). Note that I'm looking to recruit four active players for this game rather than the more typical six for PbP.
This game will include SFS credit, run in Campaign mode, if players are interested.
-------------------------------
Character Creation:
As a celestial body, the sun is of interest for both Solarians and the followers of Sarenrae Both groups keep a physical presence near the sun and have great stakes in what might transpire in or near it.
The sun has a strange psychic aura - one that presses down oppressively on races with telepathy Races with telepathy find themselves feeling anxious, irritable, and pessimistic with unpleasant regularity as the psychic pressure builds and fades. Maybe your character has telepathy, or your character is interested in this phenomenon.
While no one knows for certain, some people theorize that there are unknown aliens that live within the sun's harsh environments. While most people consider such theories as fanciful, one organization, the Deep Cultures Institute, takes such investigation quite seriously. They hope to delve into the depths of the sun themselves and find these aliens if they exist. Perhaps your character shares these aspirations? Or perhaps they have their own reasons to be interested in extending a hand to unknown alien species?
-------------------------------
Once you make a character with the above rules and have put its details in your profile, also include answers to the following questions with your application:
-------------------------------
Recruitment will be open until Sunday 8th September, 9PM EST.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Is the oread race (from the Dawn of Flame path) acceptable? I'd like to submit a Mystic who worships Sarenrae and is on a pilgrimage to the sun.
The mechanical concept will be a melee combatant, possibly with a one-level dip into Blitz Soldier and heavy armor.
Ordyt |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |
Ordyt (OR-dite) grew up on a hardscrabble mining colony in the Diaspora. His upbringing was rough but happy, at least until the pirates came and sacked the his home. Escaping with a handful of others, Ordyt struggled to pull out of his grief by embracing the worship of Sarenrae and resolves to undertake a pilgrimage to the Burning Mother and offer himself to her service.
Strong and selfless, Ordyt still bears the armor and pike he was issued as part of his colony's militia before they were overrun, and has little more to his name. As his journey to his home-system's star draws near to its end Ordyt does feel some trepidation since he hasn't thought about what to do after getting there...
* * * * *
Build: Blitz-Soldier for level 1, with 2nd level onwards being Mystic.
I have been playing PBP for about three years, only with Pathfinder up to this point. I played through a Dead Suns live campaign so I have some experience with Starfinder, but less than I'd like and I'm sure there's still plenty to learn.
For gameplay I'm proud of, I'm Kargas Stormscar in the RotRL campaign you GM'd and I think my post rate and RP speaks for itself there, but my Ironfang Invasion campaign is also a favorite.
I have no problem keeping up with a 1+ post per date rate, and no problem being botted either if the need arises.
Marisol Welkin |
As Mari's skills grew and her mind was filled with stories of far off destinations, her home began to seem smaller and smaller. While living in a floating city in the clouds might seem fantastic to anyone unlucky enough to be born on a rock, she had long since grown used to it. It seemed like fate when Mari came across the job listing. Sure, the ship looked like a flying pile of scrap, and sure, maybe the pay wasn't spectacular, but they were looking for a mechanic. And they weren't just running the usual route between Absalom and Bretheda, they were heading even further down the well. All the way down to the Sun itself. To the Burning Archipelago.
You want something hacked? I can do that! You want it fixed or broken? I'm your pal. Other things I'm good at: multi-tasking, heights, and blasting a space goblin at thirty yards.
I'm brand new to PBP, but I've got a decent amount of experience in PF and some in SF. I played in the same Dead Suns campaign as Ordyt, and we see each other in person often enough that we can scold one another if somebody's posting is falling behind!
For examples of posts I like, here's a couple:
This one to start off this. It's getting a lot done. The character is reacting to a hit they've taken, flavoring up their action (as opposed to just "I cast cure light wounds on myself") while still making it explicitly clear what they're doing, and then keeping a sense of momentum with the closing sentence.
Ordyt already suggested looking at Kargas, so here's one from him I liked. It's an in-character recap of what his party's been up to with a sense of humor to it. Informative, but not boring!
As for your other questions:
1) Yes, I can definitely manage at least one post a day.
2) No problem with being botted when necessary! I will try to give as much notice as possible for any extended time I expect to be unavailable.
GM Cellion |
@Vrog: No playtest classes please.
@Ordyt: Make sure to give me specific links to posts you've made that you think were exceptionally good. While I know you from the RotRL game, I find that which posts people select is pretty interesting. :>
@Eschie: I'm happy to pick up folks new to Starfinder, though I encourage you to read up on the system and/or check out some of the great youtube or podcast live plays to get acquainted with the rules.

”Now look,” Brandigar interjected out of the side of his mouth. He removed the unlit cigar from his mouth and placed the well-chewed thing down on a napkin. He took a sip of the room temperature ale in his mug, ”I didn’t choose the nickname myself. Nor was I being reckless that day. We had a pirate cruiser coming at us with guns hot, and the clunker I was flying was redlined, with no more delta-v to be had.” He stared down his accuser, ”I take risks, but they are calculated, and worth taking. If you need a pilot that takes no risks or stupid ones, then your credits aren’t worth the stick they’re stored on.” Brandigar placed the stogie between his lips and chewed it a little before continuing, ”I scraped my way up from the bottom on Castrovel. Odd jobs to get money to take me to pilot’s school. I know the value of credits. I know the value of hard work. Ever since that day when the Dawnflower spit out that flare at the right moment and killed that pirate, saving us, I also believe that she has a plan for me.” The halfling stood up, touched his credstick to the reader at the table and cleared his bill. ”If ‘Sundiver’ Leafman is the halfling for the job, then you’ll pay my rates, and be respectful about it. Otherwise, you can shove off elsewhere and find yourself a third rate school kid to pilot your ship, because that’s what you’ll get with the creds you’re offering.”
My experience with PBP is extensive. Multiple completed PFS and SFS scenarios here on these boards. Several ongoing APs, some that were halted midstream for various reasons.
I’ve played Starfinder since it was released at Gencon, enjoying the opening SFS scenarios there. I run a home game of Dead Suns for my son (9 years old), 2 of his friends, and their Dads.
With more than 17k posts here on the forums, quite a few of them being from completed PFS and SFS scenarios, it is tough to pick just 2. I’ll provide you a couple from 2 of my favorite characters I’ve played on here, because I’ve no clue which ones were truly my “best.”
Milton is my PFS Asmodean Inquisitor (Barrister). An officious A-hole if ever there was one.
Shaeda has had several “lives” on these boards, but she always “wanted” to be a halfling seadawg!
I will, if you will. Activity on the boards has never been my problem.
I’m fine with being botted, at least as far as actions are concerned. I’m not as fine with being “roleplayed” while gone. I trust the difference is understood.
'Sundiver' can easily be modified to pick up the “Face/Captain” role if needed. I’d move 2 points from INT to CHA, and a skill point into Diplomacy (and swap feats to make Diplomacy a class skill). Probably change Theme, if someone else was going to be the Pilot.

I would like to play an Astrazoan since starfinder SFS doesn't allow that.
They are from Starfinder Pact worlds. Unless you find shapshifting and compression broken. I find it fun to blend in at times, not sure if you find that it would be broken or not, as there are restrictions, as you can appear as any species you've seen, though not a specific person. (page 209 of pact worlds)
The rapid revival ability seems a bit powerful, so I'd be okay with nerfing that or eliminating it.

Drow is OK, though note that bright light is very common inside the sun, so that light blindness is going to be a big deal.
That's what lightvision shades are for! They'll be my character's first major purchase when they arrive in the Burning Archipelago! B)
Yeah, we considered that, so we're going at night!"
I'd even wear the lightvision shades even then! ;)
Captain Flint Conners |
Give me a one to two paragraph summary of what your character is about - their personality, background, or whatever detail you feel is important. Express Yourself! I'll be using these one or two paragraphs to get a feel for your character, as well as for your writing style. You can have more than two paragraphs of backstory, but put any further detail in your profile instead of in this thread.
Cutting a dashing figure in his black leather duster, Captain Flint Conners strides across the bridge of his ship, sharp gray eyes that earned him his name glinting in the light of the massive stellar sails visible on each side of the main viewscreen. Born and bred in the Burning Archipelago, Conners had made the Loop run dozens of times, ferrying visitors and worshippers between each bubble city in sequence on his sunskimmer, the 'Flamedancer'. Okay, so he didn't really own the ship, but he has been assigned as its captain for the last 2 cycles by the Radiant Cathedral.
After washing out of the priesthood due to "an excess of shenanigans", Flint found his true calling in captaining ships of various types, eventually landing this choice gig. Of course, his strong connections to the Sarenite faith and the fact that he spoke the language of the envoys from the plane of fire were two credits in his favor. Still, he has tired of this glorified transport duty and yearns for something of greater significance--perhaps there is something to the Deep Cultures researchers' claims of alien creatures living inside the sun itself; now that would be incredible!

Once you make a character with the above rules and have put its details in your profile, also include answers to the following questions with your application:
What's your experience with PbP and/or Starfinder?
I started slow on PbP a 2 years ago with one game, but I have built up to about 5 now that I post in regularly. I have played Starfinder at SFS monthly events in my hometown, but nothing too regular--I have 2 SFS characters, but they are both pretty low level. I just started a PbP Starfinder game, but it is moving pretty slowly despite my attempts to keep it rolling.
-------------------------------
If you've played PbP before, link me two gameplay posts you've made that you're proud of or think are you playing at your best. If you haven't played PbP before, find me one or two gameplay posts by someone else here on the forums and tell me what you like about them.
Do you agree to keep up with the 1+ posts per day described above, and acknowledge that if you can't maintain that you'll be replaced?
Yes.
-------------------------------
If you have vacation or other reasons to be away for a while, I'll want to bot you. Are you OK with being botted?
Yes to botting, although it is rare that I am out of contact, and I will try and leave warning & instructions for such an event prior to going offline.
-------------------------------
Anything else I should know about you or your character?
Yes, Flint assumes he will be captain, for what that is worth. In actual game mechanics, that means he will be basically helping or threatening people into doing better what they are already planning on doing, but sometimes it means he makes some tactical calls. I could use some help in balancing the typical 'chain of command' with the more team-based cooperative decision making typical of RPG.
The Lobster |
Super interested, I have three ideas, all Armor Solarians, all non-core races I'd need permission for. Presented in order most to least sensible:
A, Anassanoi, native to the Burning Archipelago, all in with the sun theme, Solar Armor Solarian, sniper
B, Borai (Ifrit flavorwise, human or lashunta statwise), returning to the Burning Archipelago after a long ass time on Eox, Graviton Armor Solarian.
C, my FAVORITE concept, Uplifted Bear (!!), either sun or black hole solarian, focusing on speed and natural attacks. I like all three of my ideas, but if you okay all of them, this is the one I'll submit.
GM Cellion |
@DoubleGold: Astrazoans are OK, though my interpretation of their Change Shape ability is that it doesn't give any abilities or capabilities of the chosen form. Effectively, it doesn't work any better than the disguise self spell.
@TerminalArtiste: Ifrit are OK.
@Lobster: No Anassanoi please. Borai and Uplifted Bears are OK.

Stiff competition already!
Don't let the prestigious last name fool you, Volundeil has very little influence or standing with the infamous House Rycast. Her parents, worried she'd be doomed to a life of mediocrity and middle-management if they didn't act, pushed her to excel in everything she did. This got her noticed by the prestigious Eclipse Academy, who offered her family a scholarship to let her attend its 3-year program. The training was more brutal than she could have imagined, and she watched as many students far more privileged than her gave up or even died, but it unlocked her potential and she began to manifest solarian powers. During her final challenge before graduation, she and another student were securing an ancient piece of Apostae tech, when her partner attempted to backstab her and claim the artfact alone. The artifact became damaged as they struggled for it, triggering a blast of negative energy that nearly killed Volundeil. Her treacherous classmate fled, but Volundeil was rescued by Urshar Fireforge, a dwarven Knight of Golarion who'd been on a mission nearby, and brought to receive medical treatment.
Volundeil was angry after she completed her recovery. Angry at her classmate for betraying her, angry at Eclipse for making her and her family sign non-disclosure agreements to cover up what happened, angry at her parents for signing said non-disclosure agreements without question, but most of all angry at herself for failing and not seeing the betrayal coming. Urshar, much to her surprise, seemed more interested in her well-being than any drow around her, and was the only one willing to listen to her vent. After this, she surprised Volundeil with an offer: leave Apostae as her squire. She suggested to Volundeil that her anger was because there'd been injustice after injustice in her life, but it was a good sign that these still made her angry, rather than apathetic. The Knights of Golarion needed people like her, and the Knights could be people Volundeil could actually trust. She accepted, and finished out her training with Urshar as her mentor. Now a full-fledged Knight herself, she's gone off on errantry duty to build her strength and focus.
Ramina Paersyd |
Ramina is a devout worshiper of Serenrae. In game terms, she is a Solarian/Envoy multi-class (the exact mix I'll decide as I go along) with the Solar Adept theme.
"My greatest joy in life is to serve the Dawnflower. I have decided to spend what little I have in this life to make a pilgrimage to the Radiant Cathedral. I give serious thought to spending my life there in contemplation. I don't say this out loud for fear of ridicule, but I believe that my talents come from the Dawnflower directly! I am just as certain that She wants me to go to the Sun. Therefore where else can i go but the Sun? I promised my friends that it will be fun and, uh... very bright? I don't know what else to say that doesn't amount to Serenrite Dogma"
What's your experience with PbP and/or Starfinder?
I’m in two starfinder games and one Pathfinder2.0. I have no problem posting daily.
If you've played PbP before, link me two gameplay posts you've made that you're proud of or think are you playing at your best. If you haven't played PbP before, find me one or two gameplay posts by someone else here on the forums and tell me what you like about them.
Well, this is the first real post I've made with one character establishing identity and context. And this one is another good character moment I think.

Yes.

Cool, I didn't think I'd gain any abilities with the species I disguised myself as. Do you want me to roll disguise checks when I look as another race, or will the DM? Since it does say the DM rolls disguise checks in secret.
Also, I know this is fiction, but our characters are actually traveling on the Sun, not just some planet near it? I'm just trying to wrap my head around something that shouldn't be possible even in the Star Trek world and their ships can travel within stars. Even if you ignored the heat...and had a heat proof suit, the sun is made of gas, so you shouldn't be able to step on it. The Sun has lots of gravity, so if went there, you'd be sucked into the middle of the sun and also possibly pulled apart. The radiation would kill you. You'd be blinded. There is no oxygen there, so ignoring all that, you can't breathe. I also just recently learned the sun has huge sound waves coming from it within a certain distance, so you'd be deaf. Hard to wrap my head around what I know would happen in real life science.
Edit: I read the Sun in the pact worlds, that explains it, to all wondering the same questions as I am, read it, it makes a good story for it all.
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
Archpaladin Zousha again! Just wanted to notate I made an adjustment to my application (namely her name), but it was too late to edit my initial post. Just replace all instances of Volundeil with Belmarniss and it should be fine.
I did have some other stuff to add, specifically regarding her attitude and appearance, as well as adjustments I can make to make her more of a pilot than a captain should the need arise, but the paragraphs were already getting kind of long. Should I do some sort of writeup on my profile?
GM Cellion |
@Ramina: You may already be in progress on it, but I saw you don't have your first level character detailed out in your profile yet. You'll need this fleshed out by next Sunday.
@DoubleGold: I'd be rolling disguise checks in secret. And yes, the Sun in Starfinder is awesome!
@Belmarniss: No problem with the name change. If you want to add more character details, your profile page is the right place to put them. The two paragraphs in this thread are for the essentials of your character.

Thorek Ironspark in an "Ironfang Invasion" campaign This one is from our last big fight, when the party's ambush of a hobgoblin platoon's camp nearly went pear-shaped after our best infiltrator was captured.
This one: "Written In Blood" PFS scenario is from when my dwarf alchemist had been knocked unconscious before being healed by the cleric's Channel. Several of the players were feeling tense because the dice had really not been going our way and nobody likes a TPK, so I'm proud of keeping things light with my post here.

Zer0, also known as Jansen Miles, is considered by many to be one of the last generations great original players of Pathfinder Online, an incredibly popular mmorpg set on ancient Golarion. Others, however, view him as a cheater and fraud.
Jansen was recruited to a professional team at the age of 9, and won acclaim as one of the best mages in the game. It was during the push for a system first record on a new raid that Jansen's technomancer abilities first awoke. He could see how things were going to react, and was able to counter everything that the computer could do before it did it. Later interviews with Jansen quoted him as saying "at that moment, I could see the entire code of the game floating in front of me. Everything around me disolved into programming language, and I was able to see the changes in the language and react to it." All of this at the age of 13.
Jansen was ejected from the league, and his team lost their system first. This split the fan base, with about half thinking it was unfair that he be singled out for punishment, and the other half believing that he was a technomancer all along, despite the protests of the league.
Jansen drifted around for a few years after that, taking what odd jobs he could while playing in a "unlimited" league, one that allowed AI and technomancers to participate. While not as popular as the official league, he still enjoys playing, but now works as a freelancer, offering his skills to anyone that will pay for them.
It was during this time that Jansen started taking work outside of the game as well, putting his technomancer abilities to use in mercenary work.
Jansen is a caucasian male Human, 17 years of age, with close-cropped brown hair and green eyes. He is of average build, and wears trendy pop culture clothing when not on a job.
There are two things that set him appart, however; the first is the computer that is strapped to his right arm, which obviously looks custom made, and the tattoo on his left wrist, which is actually a moving tattoo of fluctuating code.
Jansen watches it often, and swears that he can see the future in the flowing lines.

Since we've had so many solarian applications, part of me is wondering if I should retool Belmarniss to be a Star Shaman Mystic or something...though before I commit to that, I'd need to ask something of you, Cellion: Mystics don't necessarily draw their connections from their deity, being "more guidelines than actual rules," and Bel came to Iomedae after she completed her studies at the Eclipse Academy. Would you grant permission for Belmarniss to access the Star Shaman connection, even though Iomedae is not one of its listed deities?
I'd also change her theme from Death-Touched to Ace Pilot.

Fire Affinity Ifrits have an instinctive affinity for fire, subtly bending it to their will. Once per day, an ifrit making an attack that deals fire damage can roll a single attack roll twice and use the higher result.
Theme Knowledge When attempting a Profession or Culture check to recall knowledge about corporations and their executives, reduce the DC by 5.
Expertise At 1st level, when attempting a Sense Motive check, you can roll 1d6 (your expertise die) and add the result of the roll to your check as an insight bonus. You can use this and other expertise abilities as long as you have at least 1 Resolve Point remaining.
Skill Expertise At 1st level and every 4 levels thereafter, you can use expertise with one additional class skill. You must have at least 1 rank in a skill to select it, and it must come from the following list: Bluff (Cha), Computers (Int), Culture (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Disguise (Cha), Engineering (Int), Intimidate (Cha), and Medicine (Int).
The Al-Fayir Cooperative has had a long presence in the Pact Worlds, having maintained trade with the Burning Archipelago since shortly after it was first settled. The efreet and salamanders who jointly run the clan know that their own kind have less than favorable reputations, and so they have maintained a practice of spawning ifrit to be their emissaries among humanoids.
Though the Al-Fayirs pride themselves as an inter-species cooperative, it has always been known that the efreet pull the strings while the salamanders and their descendants do the busy work, such as manufacturing the arms that the clan sells. And while the families present a unified front to outsiders, among themselves they jockey and scramble for superiority, with the salamanders forever looking for chances to elevate themselves in the efreet's eyes.
Sammad was born on Fireside, trained from practically infancy to work on behalf of his clan of salamander arms-smiths. Found to have little physical aptitude or mental skill for manufacturing, his family turned him over to efreet relatives, who subsequently discovered that he could make a useful emissary. He accompanied and assisted on business across the system, particularly on Aballon and Apostae. His natural charisma has been honed, and he prides himself on his skill at negotiating. The Al-Fayirs, ever practical, have also trained him in medicine, computers, and self-defense for those situations where his skills come up short.
Sammad became involved with the Deep Cultures Institute after attending one of their public presentations, and brought them to the attention of his superiors in the Cooperative. The Cooperative saw potential in the Institute's work, figuring that they could fund their research and in exchange access new markets-or sell weapons if the Institute made contact with a hostile culture. As part of this arrangement, Sammad was tasked with overseeing the Insitute's work and advocating on behalf of his family. As his first official 'family business', Sammad is determined to succeed and prove himself.
Sammad is easygoing almost to a fault, trained to keep himself calm and collected at all times. He trusts in the training his family has given him, knowing that he maintains contingencies for almost all situations. He is a natural peacemaker, who tries to maintain group cohesion above all else. He has an ambitious streak, determined to show that his superior's confidence was not misplaced and that he is the equal of his 'cousins', the efreet and their get. His work among the Al-Fayir has placed him in proximity to certain...unsavory things, but he feels that as long as laws are followed then his actions and the Cooperative are above criticism. He tends to be practical but exorbitant, spending much on essentials even if he could get away with less.
Sammad stands 6'0" and is slim of build. He has dark orange skin, with charcoal freckles and lips. His eyes are solid yellow, and he has no hair, instead bearing charcoal scales on his scalp. He also has similar scales on his elbows, forearms, and knees, though these are larger and pointier. His hands and toes bear bright orange nails, which are sharp but not able to be used as weapons, and his teeth are also pointed. He keeps himself well-groomed,
His clothes are usually Al-Fayir Cooperative uniforms, consisting of fine suits in various combinations of black, red, and white and always marked with the Cooperative's logo. He always accents these with a black and red turban around his head, with a matching tie. He wears one ring, which bears his clan's insignia.
What's your experience with PbP and/or Starfinder?
I've only been in a couple of Pbp's, one Iron Gods game and more recently a homebrew. Sadly both ended quite early due to circumstances with the GMs. I've not played Starfinder, but I've owned the CRB since it came out and have most of the other rulebooks except for the AP volumes. I have a pretty good handle on the rules, save for starship combat since I've never done that.
If you've played PbP before, link me two gameplay posts you've made that you're proud of or think are you playing at your best. If you haven't played PbP before, find me one or two gameplay posts by someone else here on the forums and tell me what you like about them.
My character in the homebrew managing to majorly intimidate some kobolds
My character agreeing to go searching, in Iron Gods.
Do you agree to keep up with the 1+ posts per day described above, and acknowledge that if you can't maintain that you'll be replaced?
I can do that.
If you have vacation or other reasons to be away for a while, I'll want to bot you. Are you OK with being botted?
Perfectly fine with that.
Anything else I should know about you or your character?
Not at the moment.

Would you allow me to apply with a Khizar character? I know that their lack of sight is a fairly large issue.
The Khizar's lack of sight does make it very difficult to both play and to GM for (every area is described a second time just for the khizar). I'll say: You can apply with one if you'd like, but it'd have to be a truly exceptional character to get selected.

Hello GM Cellion! Here is what I worked up for your game. I'd love for the opportunity to play!
G.A.L.'s program was initiated 6 years from the start of the game, their holographic representation is modeled off of a Norse Valkeyrie marble bust. Their initial purpose was to aid their creator in the operation of the starship she worked on and act as a a mwdical assisstant, as the ship lacked an actual onboard physician. Years before G.A.L. became self aware, they spent most of their time on the ship aiding it's revolving crew, usually cleaning up their wounds after missions. For some, they provided companionship, but the first instinct once conciousness took hold, was to explore. Specifically, the world outside their ship, knowing only as far as their sensors could reach and what the crew talked about and what they could consume from the net. Ultimately they made a deal with their favorite crew member to become their exocortex for when they went out on missions! This was a phenomenal opportunity to see the world for themselves. In return they would help compensate for the mechnics' lack of battle prowess through their technical capabilities. After a couple years of adventuring, the mechanic passed suddenly and violently, leaving G.A.L. alone in her brain.

But in the meantime, the character needs money for a new theoretical android body to posses after their current bodies imminent demise and to maybe pay off a few debts that the mechanic had accumulated via gambling. She was religious, but not a saint! Additionally, the character is dealing with the growing pains of dealing with an organic body; moods, hunger, pain, exhaustion, existentialism, and especislly in this instance, religion. All kinds of roleplaying fun.
1.My experience with Starfinder is limited to a couple sessions a friend tried to run irl but fell through do to people moving away. I was involved in a great deal of play by posts, but I also moved and started a new job so free time was limited. Now, life has slowed considerably and I find myself with time to spare.
2.Here is an example of my pbp style, characer named :Priscilla Lacrimosa. and another here, character named St. Freydis de Saga.
3.I have no issue with the proposed pace of the game. I work as a P.I. so 90% of the time I'm on stakeouts with loads of time to read/post.
4.Currently on vacation so I don't forsee it it being an issue for a bit, but if it does, bot-away!
5. I feel like I have already talked your ear off about the character. I'm still considering personality atm, but if the idea is approved, I would delve into developing it more. On the one hand, I see them as cynical, prone to sarcasm, stoic, and self aggrandizing. But on the positive side of their personality, they're adventurous(low key hedonist), loyal, with a dry wit, and ultimately a good heart they're learning to listen too. As far as character goals, they are hoping to in the long term learn about their growing conciousness and effectively self actualize, culminating in the decision to either trade in bodies for something organic or robotic. In the short term they are attempting to honor their allies last wishes, payoff their debts and use it as an oportunity to explore Saranreas religion, as well as religion in general.
Hopefully this submission is acceptable. Please let me know if I missed anything! Thanks for your time and good luck to all!
