Hellknight Hill: The Lost Ring
Game Master
Joana
Hero Points: Highness * Jonagher ** Ragna * Darla *
Phntm888, Saleem Halabi, Diaz Ex Machina, ElbowtotheFace, thank you for the notice, and I wish you good gaming.
Recruitment is now closed.
Some of you may receive a PM from me asking questions about your character. If you don't, it doesn't mean you're not under consideration, only that I feel I have a handle on your PC and how they may fit into the party and narrative.
Good Luck everyone. That was a pretty crazy turnout.

Good luck to all.
Oh, and belated wave Rysky!
*WAVE*
Good luck everyone! There's LOTS of interesting characters to chose from.
I need to withdraw from the selection process. I've been chosen for one of the other campaigns. Best of luck to everyone!
Likewise, I'll be withdrawing as well. Sorry about the delay in updating you.
What is the estimated time that the group will be selected?
I'm not trying to be rude, but i'm going on a trip for a couple days so I would like to know if I made it it.
I will post those who have been selected within the next couple of hours; I am still agonizing over the last few spots.
You guys, this is so hard! :(
Yeah, I've been there. Sorry for making you make hard decisions. :/

Make the most interesting party you can Joana! I am sure no one will blame you if they don't get picked. A lot of really good characters were submitted.
Don't worry, we promise to hold it against you!;)
Have some fun with it. Everyone is excited about the new edition!

In addition to the number of submissions, this was a difficult recruitment for me because I have had the pleasure of gaming with many of you in the past and others of you I know and respect from just seeing around the boards. I decided early the only way to make it fair and not torment myself over who I was including or leaving out was to make my selection as blind as possible.
As such, I copy/pasted everyone's submission into a document without their name attached, read them all through, and sorted out the backstories that immediately made me want to GM for the character. Unfortunately, that still left me with far too many PCs to fit a table. So from there, I began trying to sort my short list into viable adventuring groups, by background, general alignment, and party composition.
At the end of the day, there are two Ways In to the adventure that I see, so I have decided to do the thing I always shake my head at other GMs about and say they don't know what they're getting into and run two tables. (Hey, I only have to make the maps once, right?) There are still PCs left out that I'm kicking myself that I didn't find a way to fit in.
First group:
Neil Spicer (Jonagher Witt, elf rogue, reputation seeker)
Dreaming Warforged (Abigail Garrett, human bard, returning descendant)
Crisischild (human fighter, dragon scholar)
F. Castor (Ren, human wizard, truth seeker)
Amaranthine Witch (Shaserai Stonecutter, elf cleric, haunting vision)
Second group:
Mark Sweetman (Gethric Orted, halfling rogue, local scion)
Iff (goblin cleric, haunting vision)
Steve Geddes (human fighter, Hellknight historian)
Ever_anon (Aronida, halfling ranger, emancipated)
Profession Smith 6 ranks (Darla Uskwold, human bard, local scion)
Group one will use the discussion thread attached to this recruitment; group two will use this discussion thread.
If anyone drops out, I will offer spots to PCs from this recruitment thread; however, I hope that you will all find a game for your concepts. There is another Age of Ashes campaign recruiting right now over here, and I wish you all the best of luck!
Bummer, I really wanted in on this one; Joana seems like a high caliber GM.
Enjoy the campaign, y'all!
