This is a Warhammer 40K story set on the world of Skyfall, where 5,000 years ago demons and angels warred in the heavens and broke the sky. Now pieces of that war rain down upon the land and you are the Scavanger teams sent to reclaim those pieces of lost technology that might survive, from an area called the Skybreak.
This is your life and it's not an easy one, the Skybreak takes as much as it gives but it gave you hope of better times.

This is why I had you ruled by a Genestealer cult, so you'd have no pre-existing loyalties and you'd be forced to knowingly make the choice.
Though there will be a couple of junctions where you can switch sides if you want

During the Horus Heresy most Ogryn on the side of the rebels were lied to by the officers giving them orders telling them they were still fighting for the Emperor. Easier to fool than convert... thats pretty old lore though.

I'm fine with either. Both are fun and have their merits. Davien would be cautions, specially since whatever this was happened to need a sacrifice of a high ranking official from the guys that more than likely just saved our asses.
though, if one is to follow chaos, I've always found it better to be giving the orders, rather than receiving them, if ones long term concerns are a matter of import... if you catch my inkling. With chaos, the phrase, go big or go home fits in my own opinion.

From running Black Crusade in the early days you often have to earn the favour of the gods and reputation by working for more powerful champions as mercenaries... though being chaos sometimes mercenaries that aren't entirely trustworthy.
