Skyfall- An Only war story (Completed) (Inactive)

Game Master Solar27

Map of current fight
This is a Warhammer 40K story set on the world of Skyfall, where 5,000 years ago demons and angels warred in the heavens and broke the sky. Now pieces of that war rain down upon the land and you are the Scavanger teams sent to reclaim those pieces of lost technology that might survive, from an area called the Skybreak.

This is your life and it's not an easy one, the Skybreak takes as much as it gives but it gave you hope of better times.

At least it did, until they came

You could try smuggling weapons in or convincing them to let you keep some.
Or just giving them to your comrades witj orders to come and help you if they're voxed, the csmp isn't massive and Ants are really fast so they'd get to you pretty quick
With Jaks mechadendrites you could try faking a deactivation etc

Also you still have your mounts

Would it be possible to disable it in such a way that my technical knock talent would reactivate the servo-arm?

Ogryn

Can't deactivate an ogryn.

You can, but it takes a lot of ammunition and it is devilishly hard to reactivate them once they finally turn off....

Jak Sunnajak wrote:

Lets's say a -20 tech-use for that with failure being that it takes at least a full action. 3 or more failures means it take 5 minute work to reactive it

I can live with that.

For hiding stuff I'll give you a +20 if it's small and you have a reasonable plan for hiding it

Apologies for delay. This week has been tricky for me getting to update pbp.

A heads up. I'll be at a con for most of today and playing D&D for most of tomorrow.

Can everyone tell me how many insanity points you have so far?

The day when he woke up from surgery after having his MIU implanted. When he achieved the first complete union with a machine spirit his flesh body wept tears of joy, even as his augmented mind dismissed the emotions as unecessary.

Did Dominastrum give us any authority to make binding agreements?
Did he give anything else to use as leverage?

4 insanity (a lot more corruption haha)

He offered sanctuary in the ship

Ogryn

Notch was happiest when he found his first working cogitator in the wastes.

I'm thinking for Krevlor it was him finishing training as a medic. I have an idea that there was an accident when he was young and an older sibling was badly injured but no one in the area knew what to do. They almost died but when the medics showed up they saved their life. I think it would have made a big impression on him.

Stare Deeply into the Abyss (a 40k Campaign)

Hi everyone,
I'm going to be delaying the posting of my next comment to let Davien post, if he has the free time, as he's got info that might be relevant to the current plot thread.
Though there is an argument for staying quiet about this information for reasons that he alone understands

In that case, it might be worth PMing Davien if you haven't already.

I'm fine with waiting in any case.

@Davien I'm going to need a charm roll or something to sell that line to the General

Haha. To be fair, all he does know is he was melded into the rune carved thing... how excatly that happened he only has a hunch :p.

Medic. FP: 0/1, Wounds 9/9. TB: 3. Armour: 4.

Right I'm currently in the process of moving so go nuts on botting. Compounding that paizo wont let me log in on my phone so I can't even do quick posts when out and about currently.

If you don't have any preferred terrain you'll just be fighting this in a forest with lots of trees

Is it possible for us to grab cover while the opposition are in a clearing?

I'm willing to allow any kind of set up but it'll need a navigate surface roll to find the right spot

With a 2 I'll just let you describe the terrain

All of the Steel Seekers behind nice thick trees or rock for cover to begin with, just next to an open clearing where the muties are passing through.

Can you describe the grenade traps for me? Do you want one big one or lots of them?
Also where will they be? In front of you for when/if they charge, behind in case they retreat, guarding your flanks etc...

And what range do you want to engage

Medic. FP: 0/1, Wounds 9/9. TB: 3. Armour: 4.

Could have them between us and the people we are ambushing in case they charge... will need to be very clear with Dunc to let them come to us.

That reminds me. How are you planning on hiding Duncan for this ambush.
I mean he can in theory pass a stealth test but...

Ogryn

Dunc know. Dey put Dunc unda blanki in da trench an cover wit leafs. Dis how do in tranin. Dunc dug hole good!!!

Val stay in trench. Keep Dunc compa... campa... make Dunc stay shhh.

I'd let you make a survival test based of either agility or int to make that work but you'd be losing your surprise attack

I'll start the ambush tomorrow night. If anyone has anymore suggestions please post them but then.
Engagement range will be 100m unless someone says otherwise

I think between us and the enemy is best. I am not sure about how many grenades I received, I know I have one from Jak and six from Krevlor. I don't know how many Notch, Davien, and Duncan had to contribute. If there is enough I would like to group them in bundles of two or three, but regardless we will spread them out to cover the approaches to our concealed positions.

Notch would have had his standard gear worth of grenades.

That position sounds good.

Davien likewise would only have his standard gear, however I do recall Davien getting the group 2 Claymores? (it was an explosive) that I don't think we have made use of to this point, I'll check back for it.

EDIT: it was one demolition charge, and we also still have a las cutter sitting around. FWIW.

Medic. FP: 0/1, Wounds 9/9. TB: 3. Armour: 4.

Krevlor is going to be shooting his grenade launcher... badly, so they might not realise its traps straight away as it wont be the only source of big booms.

Male Human Tech-Priest Enginseer | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: (Body 6/Head 4/Arms 6/Legs 4) | Fate: 3/3 |

Jak is so very unstealthy....

@GM Skyfall - I took the make armor for mount option, but I do not remember if you mentioned what kind of armor it was...

I just imagine that on top of the generic mechanical noises jak makes, he also sounds like a loud printer haha.

Ducan, Jak and Krevlor your up

Ogryn

Sorry folks. Current crisis has caused the missus to work 16 hour days coordinating agency response and shared first-responder assets. I should have a response up tomorrow before work and the next round of restrictions are called.

It's fine. The worlds gone a little bit mad recently

Take care, Dunc, and that goes for all.

Ogryn

Dunc does not get to act in surprise round because he had done the hidden blanket thing.

I have to admire the irony of Krevlor shouting for the Emperor while killing those loyal to the Emperor (at least from this planets perspective)
