Skyfall- An Only war story

This is a Warhammer 40K story set on the world of Skyfall, where 5,000 years ago demons and angels warred in the heavens and broke the sky. Now pieces of that war rain down upon the land and you are the Scavanger teams sent to reclaim those pieces of lost technology that might survive, from an area called the Skybreak.

This is your life and it's not an easy one, the Skybreak takes as much as it gives but it gave you hope of better times.

At least it did, until they came

Well none of us have those and they are specialist skills so we can't check untrained.

A quick search of gameplay and discussion shows you haven't mentioned them before so prior to this point I don't think any of us would have even considered them as being a thing.

At least with it being the salvage depot guy thats something.

...killing nobles because some random person handed you a note is also unwise. At least it being someone with some level of authority even if not in our chain of command makes it slightly more credible.


I assumed at least one of you got common lore (Imperial guard) at character creation (which would have changed to common Lore (Scavangers))
Still it's something that you as rookies wouldn't know about.
Also just a quick reminder the Lightening Lances are the number one ranked squad (Your currently 96th, just under Hammers of the Lewd but above Boulderscars)

I didn't use the Scavenger bonus for any of my rolls to avoid things like that but what's done is done.

If you mean the other PC's than no roll needed.
If your rallying support from the NPC's than make a command roll to make them mobilize in time (and believe you in the first place)


As you all have command I'll take everyone rolling the command skill to count as an assist to the person who gets the best roll.
You can try this every round as right your operating in intervals of 5 seconds

As for everyone else the rules on snapping out of it are
"Where specified on Table 9–5: Shock that a character may “snap out of it,” he can make a Willpower Test in his next Turn.
Your far enough away away that you can try to snap out of it but the penalties affect your willpower test but the way most of your are worded it looks like that only applies after you snap out of it


Also from the errata:
"“If a
character fails a Fear Test by 3 or more Degrees of Failure, he
also gains 1d5 Insanity Points.
"

Duncan would not of thought to mount the ant, just running full tilt into the breach. Just let me know if he survives long enough to get into combat range with his targets.


Are you sure?
You move 18m per round and it'll take you about 5 rounds to get into combat range
Your mount moves 36m per round. It'll take that 2-3 rounds to get into combat range (less if you gallop)


Also your Ants have the loyal trait so they follow you everywhere like a lost puppy.

Mechanically it would make sense, but could you honestly see the big lug climbing up on his ant without being reminded to.


@Duncan that fair but remember that he has just seen everyone blow past him. Orgyrens generally respond well to demonstration

But, round two at 18+18=36. Their move stand still or run away should be 0+36=36 or less. So, not exactly blew past. But, yes, as soon as they get up there he would see them and imitate the action.


Movement maths for Ant
Ag bonus is 5*2 (quadroped) *6(run)*2(sprint)=120
Tldr I made those Ants fast

You can start mounted if you want and immediately move 120m toward the enemy

Jak I swear all of these dodge against your attacks aren't on purpose.
On the bright side you still have your lance


@Davien your flame breathe only has a range of 60m and your currently 145 away


oh. I thought the 5m was how close I was. apologies. Move action (half) to get in range then I suppose if the ole anty is fast enough


That's only an extra 5m. A full move is 10 (or 15 if you sprint), charge is 30m and a run is 60m (120m if you sprint)
