This post is to update everyone on a brief pause -- I'm in the midst of replacing my computer and moving thousands of files over to the new tower -- I have different pieces spread over my apartment, and I'm still waiting for the adapter cord I need for the monitor to come on Thursday.

I'm still working on getting the new computer set up -- this one has a hmdi port, which is a new technology for me. None of my monitors worked w/ it, so I bought an adapter, which came this evening, but apparently it's not the right kind of adapter. So I went ahead and got an hmdi monitor, which will be here Saturday, and then hopefully I can get everything moved over.

If you have a VGA monitor, you can get a VGA to HDMI adaptor from Amazon for like 7 bucks and then have two monitors ;)


Yeah I got one of those, and tried to hook it up, but it didn't work. Apparently, you need an 'active adapter' and this was a 'passive adapter', and then I did some more research, and apparently it's a challenge to find an adapter that will work with a specific set of equipment -- like you'll get bad visual transfer, or it will only work part of the time etc. I really want this up and running by the 17th when I start a new online class, so I decided to just buy a new monitor instead of ordering one adapter after the other and experimenting.


Also, Kiyoshi hasn't posted since mid July, so I'm not sure anyone but Oscar, Unfettered Prince, and Cal are still playing right now. Arc is in another game I'm running but hasn't posted in a while, but he has been playing for like 2 years with me in the other, so I think he'll pop back up. We may need to re-recruit coming up. Luckily, this is an easy game to have people come and go in.

I am still here, but it's basically been a conversation between Prince, Cal, and the ship captain. Nothing really to do/say at the moment and didn't want three people chiming in on the same convo. Cal and Prince have two different approaches to the same request; adding a third would just be redundant and probably confusing.


Ok folks, I'm done with my 85.7 hour insanity work week, and now I'm hoping to get back into this game. I have an awesome new computer w/ high level graphics capabilities I'm hoping to do some truly gob smacking maps on. I already downloaded a bunch of enormous Mars images to use for our potential excursion to Naharrai (i.e., Mars in the time of the Ninth World).

That's good news!


I want to try a combat out soonish. Can everyone take a look at this table and make sure that their characters meet the threshhold for the level 20 blue column (and make whatever adjustments are needed if not)? It's going to take a little doing to figure out effective monsters, but let's start with that bench mark and I'll pick some CR 20-25 monsters and see how it goes.

I'm mainly a support char, so I can't hit that damage, without considerable tweaking. I'll survive w/o a problem, even without my pets. Can someone else bring the bang?

Unfortunately, I have some bad news. I currently do not have access to my main account. I have opened a ticket to Paizo, but from the email I got back from them, it's not looking like I'll be able to access my account any time soon.

I would have posted sooner but I didn't even think about making an alt until now.

As it's not fair to everyone to make them wait, I'm going to withdraw from the game. If I get me account fixed and the game is still ongoing, I'll reach back out to see about joining.

Honestly, this isn't a strongly plot-driven game, so if you want to rejoin at some point, you're welcome to, and I can just update you on whatever random stuff happened since you last were present.

Have you considered copying and pasting your character sheet across to your alt account in the interim, Cal?

That's a definite no for me with regards to the blue row. I confess I wasn't really going for optimum combat stats. I'll have to do a bit of investigating and see if there are any relatively simple fixes.

@All: Bear in mind, that the table does intend that you include your common combat buffs.

The Prince is flexible and pretty hard to kill. Lots of immunities.

The anti-paladin side brings full bab and a bunch of buffs and debuffs.

He has a tonne of buffing magic in general.

His spear is pretty lethal and I expect him to do decently, at least when his buffs are up.

+23 to hit is before any buffing. But bear in mind, that either true strike or smite will give him a +20 bonus to hit.

His pre-buff Defense is 32 and below the red, but his lowest save is 3 above the blue ranking.

If it's a really tough enemy, he can support in a whole bunch of ways.

Weapon Combat Stats, before any buffing:

+1 luck bonus on all attack rolls. The critical threat range of each of a fortune-blessed creature’s attacks doubles. The doubling follows the standard rules for doubling critical ranges and does not stack with other doubling effects, such as keen edge or the Improved Critical feat.

Weapon Attunement +1 - Striking Death

Conditional modifiers, marked with an asterix *.

* As a swift action, once per minute, a fortune-blessed creature can apply a true strike effect to a single attack.

* In sunlight or within the radius of a daylight spell, each of the solaric creature’s speeds increases by +10 feet, and the solaric creature gains a +2 morale bonus on attack rolls, checks, and saves.

* So long as a free-willed follower of the suzerain is within sight and capable of witnessing its actions, the suzerain has a +4 morale bonus to AC, attacks, damage rolls, checks, and saves.

"Striking Death" - Large Glassteel Totem Spear +23 2d8+22 19-20/x3 20 ft. 12 lbs. Type piercing or slashing, 1d2 bleed damage

-2 attack for Mythic Power Attack. Damage: 2d8+49

When the wielder confirms a critical hit with this weapon, he can attempt an Intimidate check to demoralize the target as an immediate action with a circumstance bonus equal to his character level.

A creature damaged by a phase locking weapon is affected as though by the dimensional anchor spell for 1 round.

A heartseeker weapon ignores the miss chance for concealment against most living targets, though the attack must still target the proper square. This special ability does not apply against aberrations, oozes, plants, outsiders with the elemental subtype, or any creature specifically noted to lack a heart.

Based on my math, if we're up against CR 20 AC, then only your single strike has a good chance of hitting. Using that to figure your damage, you're in the orange category.
Especially if we may be three man-ing this, I will see if I can make changes to do some more damage.

EDIT: Actually, I forgot how well I made this character. Even if I can't bring the damage, I can bring enough effects to disable enemies outright. I think we should be fine, if I don't play him like a pacifist.

Kiyoshi's only real weakness when it comes to damage is anything without a STR score. My attacks are incorporeal (touch) attacks that target STR and then do the extra damage as negative energy damage. It would come out to 1d6 STR damage (+29 negative energy HP damage, if the STR damage works). The 5d6 Sneak attack and 1d6 force deal damage as long as the attack hits, even against something without a str score (barring other factors).

I've got other things I can do to help with anything I can't hit, but vs the stuff I can, with 12 attacks at +32 vs touch AC, that's a lot of potential damage.

Did we get the translation book over to Oscar? Can we go ahead and do that if we haven't?

Also, should I just assume everyone's down for the caravan to Lhauric? I'll just go ahead and update with the beginning of the trip in that case.

To clarify -- it's a way station to Qi -- I'm not going to prevent you from doing what was originally envisaged by Kyoshi. Lhauric has a tunnel to Mars on it, and I wanted to incorporate that setting as well, so I was hoping to to a stint there.

I think the consensus was that people had thought it stayed with the priest, but now it's retconnect that Aerik has it, (assuming DM permission) Is that alright?
