I've lost my connection to this game, I think - I'm not really sure what Eirikur should be doing or what's going on in game, and combined with the real world newborn and lack of ... time, energy, sleep, etc.... My posts have suffered. I don't want to call it quits, but I'm also not sure how to get Eirikur going again (and keep up a good posting rate IRL)


I'm open to suggestions -- I think I am doing a pretty decent job representing what the setting is like based on my perusal of the source material, which is basically weird stuff, and more weird stuff.

Just a heads up everyone, there's a cypher system sale if anyone's interested Humble Bundle. I'm going to pick up this stuff and might use some of the material for alternative dimensions connected to the Ninth World. NPCs and characters might arrive from one or more of these dimensions in play, and there might be opportunities to journey to some of them if that's a huge interest, though I'm intending to stay in the Ninth World for the most part.


Also I had a useful discussion with the Infinite Fool's player by PM -- I think I've been a little to reticent with lore and setting details. I'm going to run the description for this game a little differently than others.

Because the setting is so weird, I'm going to drop a lot of information that is for player information, but is not character knowledge, in my descriptions of persons, places, and things, so you have a better idea what's going on and what's possible. I just filled in some of those kinds of details in my last couple of posts.

For this game, just separate character vs. player knowledge in a more self-conscious way, with the understanding you as the player are getting a lot more information in my posts than your character does.

That's pretty cool Sebecloki and thanks for doing that. If I could make a suggestion, perhaps put player knowledge stuff in the discussion tab, so that stuff our characters know stays in the gameplay tab?

I concur with adding the bulk or all of the player knowledge in the discussion thread. Otherwise, gameplay posts will get buried.


I think we made need another separate area then -- I think it will get lost and confused if it's mixed in with the discussion thread.

I also don't myself want to go hunting for stuff in the discussion thread that I might want to refer to later, and don't have any sense of where it might be because it's not attached to the story.

I think the options are:

Have a google docs file that everyone can look at OR

I'll put this information in spoilers in the gameplay thread.

If we do the first option, I will expect everyone to keep up with the googledocs and actually review it as we go along.

Just to check in -- I'm planning tying in the lore of the amnesiacs to the story of the Tides of Numenera: Torment game, specifically connecting them to the lore about the 'Changing God'.

I have no idea what the lore is. Therefore, great!!

Pulling my OOC aside from the gameplay post (which I'm still putting together), Seb, I have indeed seen the new imagery, and I thank you for it. I will note that for some reason I can only see the upper left quadrant of the image; all the rest gets blanked out after the first fraction of a second, but I have no idea why. :P


It's probably because it's a large image and your browser isn't configured for it -- I can see it perfectly, and it loads in 3 seconds, but I've had issues before that different players are using different computers and browsers. I can't possibly accommodate every technological set up, so I'll post it as a pdf as well in the gameplay thread.

I'm thinking of making my own DM PC for this to fill out the party. I assume no one minds.

Right now I'm thinking about a strength rogue sap master that's a big character like a half-orc or half-ogre who is also simultaneously unexpectedly really sneaky.

I'm also imagining an animal companion who will be a boar-like creature -- probably some kind of megafauna that's a bloodrager/prophet of war.

Instead of an amnesiac, he's going to be a native of the Ninth World.

How does that sound? Does anyone have ideas for party roles if you think we have a big gap somewhere?
