I put the wand of summon monster 2 and the +1 returning dart on my sheet.

Other than that, it looks like others in the group could probably use the other items better than me.

Caspan could use:
* 3 Potion of Bull's Strength (honestly probably the best buff for me, since my belt boosts my Con; this goes purely to what Caspan does)
* Potions of CMW (probably smart to divvy those up among everyone, especially those who have no other way to heal. That said, I already have three cure potions and probably only need only one more at most, since I'd only stop to take them in combat in the most desperate of situations).
* Other potions. Fly might be useful since that's something I could potentially down in a pinch if we're going up against a flying enemy. Others feel like they'd do better being held by others though we can always share.
* +1 hand axe (I have a mundane one as my backup weapon. I could upgrade it, though again, it's a backup. I have a +1 shortsword, so not critical)
* light crossbow +1. (I could take it; I have a heavy one as my ranged weapon. Again, I don't expect to use that much so might be more valuable to sell)
* I have five alchemist's fires already. I assume I'd only use them against swarms.
* Ring of minor energy resistance (acid) could be useful, but that holds true for everyone, I think.
* Cloak of resistance +1 (I seem to have accounted for one of these in my saves, but it's not written in my gear, so ... I'm not sure if I had one already or not! I feel like I did and just didn't write it in my gear)
* Amulet of Natural Armor +2 (definitely would be a help)
* Amulet of Mighty fists +1 (?) (but this would probably be a bigger help; stupid limit on slotted items!)

--

So, I think the amulet of mighty fists is an obvious choice for me, and the rest is ??. The potions of bull's strength make sense for any melee combatant.

--

And thanks for doing that, Emil!

Portrait Male Human Cleric of Erastil 8 | hp: 53/53 | Init +2 |AC 22 Touch 13 FF 20 CMD 20| F: +8 R: +5 W: +10 | Perc +5 | Channels: 4/6 SWA: 11/11 BA: 8/8 | Pila: 45/45

I put a question mark after the +1 on the amulet of mighty fists, because the AP does not indicate what the bonus is. It might be possible to figure it out by looking at the bonus to hit in the dragon's stat block, but that's something perhaps the GM could figure out or just decide.

It's always good to have a magic weapon for those creatures with DR/Magic. Emil can craft one for around 1000 gp for +1 or 4000 gp for +2. He can craft +1 armor for 500 gp, +2 for 2000 gp. He can use a spell to convert mundane weapons and armor, 75 gp for armor, 175 gp for weapons.

I'd claim whatever you think you can use. If more than one PC wants to claim the same item then negotiations can ensue.

I noticed Jillian has a +1 Falchion, which is probably the one listed here, unless she got it very early in the adventures.

Suggestions:

Potions and Scrolls:
As Caspan noted, the potions of Bull Strength will benefit him, but anyone who fights with a melee weapon, like Jillian, might want at least one. Emil can prepare and cast it so he doesn't need it.

Jillian has the fewest hp of the front line fighters, so I'd suggest she takes the two potions of Bear's Endurance. Emil can prepare this spell as well, so doesn't need them.

Since we have 6 potions of CMW, I'd suggest each person get one, just to pad the supplies.

The potion of invisibility should probably go to Selde, since she is the stealthiest. Or give it to Wren to use when she is mainly providing support buffs.

I'd give the potion of Sanctuary to Wren as well, since she usually does not want to get into melees anyway. Ditto for the potion of hide from animals. Emil is more likely to try to control an animal than hide.

I'd suggest Jillian and Caspan each take a potion of fly, since they can use them to pursue flying creatures and attack with melee weapons that generally do more damage for them.

Thael should obviously get the fireball wand and the scroll of invisibility.

If anyone doesn't yet have a magic weapon, the oil of magic weapon should go to him/her. But I think we all have magic weapons, so these can probably be converted to gold.

armor:

Caspan might consider taking the +1 chain shirt. It is better than his present armor except that it doesn't have spikes. But Emil could add spikes and even enchant them to be magic with a +1 bonus for 1000 gp.

Jillian already has +1 breastplate, so nothing we have would improve on that.

Selde should take the +1 leather, since she only has non-enchanted leather armor at present.

Emil could add to a +1 enhancement bonus for 500 gp.

weapons:

Anyone who has hair that is at least 2 feet long, should take the Korrigan Club. See the description for details.

Caspan expressed interest in the +1 handaxe and the +1 crossbow, and Wren took the +1 dart.

I think the +1 falchion is already possessed by Jillian, so that was probably claimed earlier but not marked on the loot sheet.

I think everyone who fires a longbow already had a composite bow. But if anyone fancies increasing their strength above 15, might want to claim the +3 Strength Composite bow for that eventuality.

The whip and the bastard sword are exotic weapons so probably no advantage to using either unless someone wants to take the feat to gain proficiency down the road.

Alchemical Supplies:
Everyone should take 1 or 2 alchemist's Fire. They are always useful vs. trolls and swarms. Currently, Wren and Thael have 1 each, Caspan has 5. So we have 13 altogether, enough for 2 each, plus one extra.

The unguent's of timelessness mainly give objects made of organic matter a +1 on saves when threatened with damage, so maybe Thael would want one for his spellbook. Maybe could be added to scrolls or composite bows.

Troll oil gives you 1 hour where you automatically stabilize if you go negative but don't die outright. It also gives a chance to end bleed effects. So front line fighters consider taking one or more.

Other Magic Items:
Someone should take the ring of minor energy resistance (acid). If you have a ring slot available, consider claiming it.

If anyone does not have a cloak of resistance +1, you have your pick of color and style. Thael has the feat to craft wondrous items, so for 1500, a +1 cloak of resistance can be upgraded to +2.

I'd say either Emil or Jillian takes the belt of incredible dexterity +2. Each has Dex 14 presently and each fires a longbow at times.

Of those who don't already have the headband slot filled, I'd say Jillian is the best person to use the headband of Alluring Charisma +2. Charisma affects a number of paladin abilities.

Anyone who had a wrist slot available should take the lidless charm bracelet. I might argue Emil should have it, since he has the spells to reverse the effects of many gaze effects. But if someone else fancies it, someone should have it.

I'd suggest the amulet of natural armor goes to either Jillian or Selde, as Emil can get the effect with barkskin spell and Caspan already has an amulet if he takes the amulet of mighty fists. Selde has the lower AC currently but Jillian is on the front line more.

The Beast-Bond Brand could be used by anyone with a familiar who wants to be able to cast touch spells on the beast at a distance. Selde's and Emil's animal companions are more often in battle, so I'd suggest it go to one of them.

The Druid's Vestment logically should go to the druid if she has nothing in her slot for the body. It gives an extra use of the wild shape ability per day.

The Polymorphic pouch is effectively a small bag of holding, but it has an advantage for someone with wild shape or similar shape shifting abilities, as the pouch's contents remain attached and available.

I'd suggest the figurine of wondrous power goes to either Wren or Thael, as it can be used as a mount or as a fighter. Selde already has a mount, Emil can summon one (Flame Steed).

Thanks Emil for all the bookkeeping.

I’ll take the figurine of wondrous power, another alchemist’s Fire, a potion of CMW, the potion of sanctuary, and the potion of hide from animals. That should do me nicely.

Sounds good. My one question is if Jillian is really coming back. I know Dak posted Jan. 7 that he was getting back into the swing of things, but I haven't seen anymore posts from him since then.

I'll let others weigh in before saying definitively what I'm taking, but Emil's breakdown seems good to me otherwise.

Selde has a masterwork spidersilk armor that I'd love to enchant to a +1. I'd also like to add Corrosive to her bow, adding bits of the dragon to the bow as fluff.

Nur is almost always going to be serving as a mount for Selde so the beast bond brand won't me much use. The Druid's vestment is also useless for Selde as she doesn't have wild shape.

Selde will often have Barkskin up so the amulet is probably better for Jillian. Though if Jillian ends up not coming back the amulet frees up a spell slot for Selde.

Thael upgrading everyone's cloak of resistance is probably a good idea. We are getting to the level were that are some real nasty effects.

If Selde takes the amulet, she could cast barkskin on Caspan. :)

Definitely worth upgrading everyone's cloak of resistance if we have the money. (Which will be decided in part by what we get rid of.)

I haven't heard from him or seen him in any other games since that post, I'm not sure. We'll just keep moving along in the meanwhile.

Did we end up with a division of loot and some time to craft? We may want to before we go to Blooder's Bend.

Portrait Male Human Cleric of Erastil 8 | hp: 53/53 | Init +2 |AC 22 Touch 13 FF 20 CMD 20| F: +8 R: +5 W: +10 | Perc +5 | Channels: 4/6 SWA: 11/11 BA: 8/8 | Pila: 45/45

I think things are happening before we have any time to create magic items.

GM: will we need to role play traveling to a city where we can sell our excess gear? We could return to the cave and wait for the contact with the underdark to sell what we have. Or can we take it as read that we did that and returned to the fort with some time for some magic item creation?

DD | II | TG1

As of yet, you have no time to travel to a city to sell your gear.

You may make a trip to the caverns, but remember the merchant only comes every so often so it will likely not be an immediate change of gear.

From what I remember, there is a city at some point in this book.

Portrait Male Human Cleric of Erastil 8 | hp: 53/53 | Init +2 |AC 22 Touch 13 FF 20 CMD 20| F: +8 R: +5 W: +10 | Perc +5 | Channels: 4/6 SWA: 11/11 BA: 8/8 | Pila: 45/45

Sounds like we won't be able to sell much then. I doubt we will want to schlep bundles of weapons and armor through enemy territory just to sell later.

Might the rangers who make their way to join the fort be able to purchase some of the weapons and armor and other useful adventuring gear to give us some cash for magic item creation? We wouldn't want to seem greedy, but we can put the gold to good use in taking the fight to the hobgoblins and they can't spend their gold on much else.

If so let us know how much we can get from them.

Portrait Male Human Cleric of Erastil 8 | hp: 53/53 | Init +2 |AC 22 Touch 13 FF 20 CMD 20| F: +8 R: +5 W: +10 | Perc +5 | Channels: 4/6 SWA: 11/11 BA: 8/8 | Pila: 45/45

In case Jillian does not return, Emil will at least temporarily take the belt of incredible dexterity and the Lidless charm bracelet.

Emil will also take the beast bond brand and the polymorphic pouch.

I'm putting together a new spreadsheet with the salable gear broken into categories. It might be appropriate to make up a new loot spreadsheet for gear found in the new AP book.

Actually, I've got that completed. I can share it if anyone wants to see it. This excludes all the items which have use to the group and will be kept in the party (even if not everyone has posted about that yet). The amounts given are the amount that would be obtained if the item were sold at the usual rate of 50% of new, except for the art and jewelry items.

Magic (excluding weapons and armor): 11,150
Armor: 6,517
Weapons: (assuming no one takes the Korrigan club): 23.809
Misc. Gear: 242
Valuable art and trade goods: 2,480
Coins: 6,424

IF we could sell it all, it would result in 50,622.
Divided 5 ways, this would be 10,124 per PC.
Divided 6 ways, it would be 8437, per PC.

Portrait Male Human Cleric of Erastil 8 | hp: 53/53 | Init +2 |AC 22 Touch 13 FF 20 CMD 20| F: +8 R: +5 W: +10 | Perc +5 | Channels: 4/6 SWA: 11/11 BA: 8/8 | Pila: 45/45

Might we get a group of the rangers to transport these items (after letting the rangers take any gear they would like) to the cave and wait to sell it to the underdark and return with items that can be used in magic item creatio?

DD | II | TG1

Until Jillian returns, assume she isn't going to. I'd take whatever you need to outfit yourself for now.

The rangers and certainly organize routine trips to and from the cave to oversee the selling/purchasing of items while you are out adventuring.

I usually am able to post beforehand when I won't be available to post, but my last couple of days at work took every ounce of my mental energy. I'm just digging out today, and should be able to post by the end of the day.

However, I'm sure I'm holding things up, so feel free to bot me and I'll catch up by the end of the day.

Hey gang -

I've been going through a rather difficult time IRL and I'm just not able to make the time to be on the forums as much as I used to due to some competing priorities for my time. I'm not ready to give up on the game quite yet, but I need some time to try and work through some stressful issues.

I'd like to put the game on hold for a little while so I can try to make some headway on these things. I'll check back in in a couple of weeks and hopefully things are in a better place then. I'm not disappearing, you can always reach me on discord if you need to.

Thanks for patience.

Thanks for the update. Hope things work out. I'm happy to hang in and hope things can continue later. Two of the games in which I'm a player are on hold and another is nearing the end of the adventure, so I may look around for a game to join. If anyone knows of anything starting up, let me know. I'd be especially interested in a Starfinder game.
