Father Emil |
Emil retreats from their view, tugging on Wren's cloak to encourage her to follow.
Then, he calls out, "Harpies can enchant you with the cry, so stop up your ears or protect yourself with magic!"
He gestures for others to come close. "Gather round. I'll cast a spell to protect you somewhat from the charm of their song."
When everyone gets close, he casts communal Protection from Evil.
Thael Silverstep |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
While the others negotiate with the harpies, Thael takes the key from the captain's belt and frees the gnome.
"Of course you can go free," he says. "Or join us and we will get you to safety. I'm Thael Silverstep, and we are all refugees, as well. Who are you, and what can you tell us of what has been happening here?" he asks.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Nice idea, Wren. I like the idea of the trade, though perhaps the diplo roll wasn't great.
Grenwold Houtvester |
When Gren and Ringo subdue the leader, he sighs, and moves quickly to tie up the man. Once finished, he looks up, and nods at those negotiating with the harpies, though he does notice the gnome as well.
Yay diplomacy whenever possible!
aid wren diplomacy!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Grenwold re-mounts Ringo with the unconscious leader strapped to the back of the deer, and sidles up to where Wren is negotiating. "He speaks truly, you have as much right to be here as any - we merely wish to return this land to as it was before the invasion - a task made easier if we have all our allies on our side. I expect those people have information we will need in this task."
Caspan Saal |
Caspan grunts and gets close to Emil for the spell. He lets the others do the talking, clenching his fists for when he inevitably has to pull their bacon out of the frying pan and throw it into the fire.
Father Emil |
Emil whispers to the group after the attempts at diplomacy. "These buzzards are evil an' likely to honor any deal only as long as they feel it's ta their advantage. We should take 'em down as soon as our allies'r safe."
