Since most of us are sitting out this fight, we've got some time to go over the most recent loot:
two masterwork cold iron short swords
a gray-and-green cloak of elvenkind
a leather bandolier with loops for six potion flasks
+1 falchion that always feels warm to the touch.
The bandolier contains three potions of barkskin, two potions of cure moderate wounds, and an oil of magic weapon.
--
Selde wanted one of the cold iron short swords and Jillian the falchion (maybe).
I wouldn't hate the cloak, but don't want to be greedy. It's certainly not a must-have for me.
Barkskin probably should go to our frontliners, though that's a lot of this group.

Wren Chavali |

Yeah, all that gear seems like it should go to the front liners, IMHO.
You, Emil, Jillian and maybe Selde should basically take all of it. Even the potions are better in the front liners hands.

Emil can cast barkskin as one of his domain spells and of course he can cast CLW. Probably better for others to have the bandolier.
He doesn't have the proficiency to use a short sword.
The cloak gives +5 to stealth, so it should go to the PC with the lowest stealth. I think this is Jillian. If an individual is doing scouting, the cloak can go to that person to give the bonus.

Jillian Vrosk |

Just a heads up, will be away this weekend, potentially through Monday. Heading to Space Camp with my son for a cub scouts thing. Please bot me as necessary.

Father Emil |

My work situation will be demanding a little more time this week, adjusting to teaching classes remotely to allow classes to continue without the risk of spreading or catching the COVID-19 virus. In theory it should not take any more time than normal, but I expect I'll be in extra meetings and learning how to use the software features. I'll post when I can but it might be every other day.
I hope everyone else is able to stay safe.

Selde Cathron |

I'm working from home for the next few weeks some all good on my front.

Caspan Saal |

Woohoo!
Brawler, level 6
+1 BAB, all saves
+10 hp (+6 brawler, +3 Con, +1 FCB)

+skills: 5 ranks+2 background skills/level; +1 Acrobatics, Climb, Intimidate, Perception, Stealth, Appraise (b), Sleight of Hand (b)

Jillian Vrosk |

Yay 6! Only big change for Jillian is her LoH can now heal disease in addition to fatigue. One more level and Hunter becomes a bit more interesting as he morphs into an improved familiar!

Wren Chavali |

With the makeup of our party and our strong melee damage, I assume Haste would be the preferred spell for me to take at this level, correct?

Wren Chavali |

Wren is a helper. Whatever the group wants, she is happy to grab.
Other good options are Dispel Magic, Heroism, and Fly. I am assuming Haste is the best out of all of them at this time.

Woo! A bit of a slow level for me, but I'm moving into Arcane Savant since Thael is obsessed with magic items and figuring them out. No new spells though. :(

Father Emil |

I'll work on the leveling up tomorrow.
A quick check shows that BAB and all saves go up by 1. Otherwise, the only other change, beyond the usual hit points and skills, a 6th level cleric gets an additional 2nd and 3rd level spells per day.
There might be an advance in a domain ability.

Father Emil |

Emil is leveled up to 6th.
BAB and all saves: +1
hp: now 39
Special Defenses: Bramble Armor (Su)
At 6th level, you can cause a host of wooden thorns to burst from your skin as a free action. While bramble armor is in effect, any foe striking you with an unarmed strike or a melee weapon without reach takes 1d6 points of piercing damage + 1 point per two cleric levels you possess. You can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.
At 6th level this does 1d6 + 3 damage.
Wooden Fist (Plant domain ability) now does 1d3 + 5
Spells per day:
3rd level spells: 3 + Domain
2nd level spells: 4 + Domain
Skills: increased Craft (blacksmith), Craft (weapons), Knowledge (Nature), Knowledge (religion) by +1 each, Survival +3
Pila:
hp: now 39
BAB, all saves: +1
Special: Devotion: +4 morale bonus on Will saves against enchantment spells and effects.
Acrobatics: +1
Tricks: +1

Wren Chavali |

I say you keep it. Or whoever else voted to explore further should roll for it.
I voted to leave, so I wouldn’t have found it. It should be one of you alls.

Jillian Vrosk |

I would say whoever has the worst saves which looks like Thael.

Selde Cathron |

Yeah boosting low saves seems the best use for it.

![]() |

I can take it, I guess. Caspan's Will save is pretty low, though his other saves are good.
I guess my biggest issue is that I can craft it for myself for half the cost since it's a Wondrous Item, or in the alternative I can get a +2 on all my saves by enchanting my cloak for that cost.

Father Emil |

Sorry I didn't post all week. It's the end of the term, which means I can't put grading off to the weekend. Also had some extra meetings and training sessions around the situation with the virus and teaching classes remotely. Should get back to normal soon.

Caspan Saal |

Don't have time to check right now, but realized that I can in fact use martial flexibility right before we go in. Just need to figure out what feat is most useful.
(Don't hold up things for me. I can put it in my first combat post, at worst, or if there's something that we wouldn't know about, I can just not bother.)

Father Emil |

Emil has 1 alchemist's fire. How many do others have? It is a DC 20 Craft Alchemy roll to make more. Do we have portable alchemy equipment sufficient to craft in the wild?
There aren't any spells that Emil can cast in the Cleric spell list that do fire or acid damage except one called Trial of FIre and Acid. The spell is from the Monster Codex which comes from the section on trolls and lists the spells as used almost exclusively by trolls. But if it will help fight the trolls and the evil they represent, I'd hope Erastil would bestow knowledge of the spell on Emil in this instance. But I'll leave that to the GM to decide.
Emil has a few more fire arrows.
What other fire attacks do we have?

Selde Cathron |

Seldr has 3 produce flames and 1 flame blade prepared.

Caspan Saal |

I have five alchemist's fires. I'm happy to hand a few out to those who need them. I can try to do some damage with my fists.
That said, it looks like I've got no way to inflict fire or acid damage through my feats at this point.

Jillian Vrosk |

Yup, Jillian doesn't have any fire damage, but she can hack them up and then you guys can burn them with fire!

Father Emil |

Certain attack forms, typically fire and acid, cause a creature’s regeneration to stop functioning on the round following the attack. During this round, the creature does not heal any damage and can die normally.
I am curious if our GM interprets this
a) the regeneration doesn't function for the round after fire or acid damage is sustained, but the wounds caused while regeneration is not working will regenerate in later rounds when the regeneration is not suppressed.
or
b) the wounds suffered while regeneration is not functioning never heal.
I suspect it is the former, but could interpret the wording either way.

Everyone okay with this proposed distribution of the wands?
reduce animal (Selde)
magic weapon (Emil)
acid arrow, burning hands, stinking cloud (Thael)
Anyone else want one?

Father Emil |

I am okay with this. Emil has a magic weapon already (both ranged and melee), so he's not likely to need to use the wand. If anyone who can use it and who doesn't have a magic weapon wants the wand, feel free to take it. If someone who can't use the wand wants Emil to use it to make their weapon magic before a battle, remind Emil and he'll provide. The wand will only give a minute duration, so it's of limited use.
Next chance the group has to craft items, Emil will work on crafting more magic weapons and armor, for what it's worth. Doesn't look like that's going to happen the way we had hoped, as all forts so far have been rendered more or less useless as a base of operations.
