Hey DM, Tess just hit 5th level and is free, so she'd be my choice on my character here, if that's cool with the group.

Before we really hit the first encounter I just wanted to check if the group is ok playing this with 5 PCs. I could probably grab a 6th if wanted.

Here is where things fall into a gray area. As a player, I would be willing to have Omrax armor up (or at least cloak and helm) like the fallen man rather than use invisibility. Leaving the potions for his allies, especially with 2 small and 2 female comrades, and Haris being more steathly anyway.

Yet, is a disguise considered acting dishonorably when used to pursue greater evil on its own domain? I have seen and have accepted to play it both ways depending on the GM.

Omrax will not knowingly risk his honor but at the same time is bound to rescue the innocent in need. He does not know if the Paracountess is evil but is assuming not. Although Omrax has never met her.

Quote:
Additionally, a paladin's code requires that she respect legitimate authority, act with honor (not lying, not cheating, not using poison, and so forth), help those in need (provided they do not use the help for evil or chaotic ends), and punish those who harm or threaten innocents.

Here is my take:

Deceiving someone is not the same as lying, particularly when it comes to life and death situations. If you've ever taken sword fighting or fencing you would quickly learn that most tactics involve deception. The same could be said for battles with armies.

Following that logic concealing your identity or wearing a disguise is not lying. If you actively say you are someone other than yourself, then that is a problem, but staying silent or letting another person believe incorrectly is not the same thing.

In this situation here you are not acting against the local authority. Boneclaw is the supreme authority and he gave you his permission to free the paracountess. Heraphis has ursurped that authority for some reason and was acting illegitimately.

Omrax will place his armor and helm in his haversack and don the dead man's gear (unless the two platemail look similar enough to keep his on or if time is of the essence.) He will also consume an antitoxin before adding the helmet to complete his outfit with the man's sword belt and blades.

Ok, we are done. I've already reported the scenario, but need a little more information from each player for the Chronicle.

This scenario offers the following boon on the chronicle:

The Paracountess’s Debt - In thanks for freeing her from her infernal prison within Citadel Vraid, Paracountess Zarta Dralneen of Cheliax offers you any single item you wish for, paid for out of her personal wealth rather than Chelish or faction resources. Choose one item worth up to 1,500 gp that you receive for free. This item is not restricted by your current Fame score, but must otherwise be an item you could purchase. If the chosen item is worth less than the listed value, any difference is lost.

DM, Tess will take an Aegis of Recovery, 1500 gp, if that is acceptable.
