With the battle raging around him, Paritosh steels himself and locks eyes with the nearest skeleton, its bones rattling ominously.
"You think you can intimidate me with your clattering?" he taunts, charging forward with renewed vigor, his khopesh gleaming in the dim light.
He lunges at the skeleton, but his strike goes wide, the blade slicing through empty air.
Khopesh Attack 1: 15 - 1d20 - 2 - 1 ⇒ 15 - (1) - 2 - 1 = 11
"By Najm, that was a poor swing!" he exclaims, frustration creeping into his voice.
Undeterred, Paritosh quickly adjusts his stance and prepares for another strike. "Let this one find its mark!" he shouts, swinging the khopesh again with determination.
Khopesh Attack 2: 15 - 1d20 - 2 - 1 ⇒ 15 - (12) - 2 - 1 = 0
Khopesh Damage 2: 2d4 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 4 + 2 = 10

Paritosh Jumbal |
In the heat of battle, Paritosh had swung his khopesh with all his might, but the blade slipped from his grasp, flew through the air and embedded itself into the side of the wagon with a thud.
"By the sands, not my khopesh!" he curses, frustration bubbling up within him. But instead of despair, a fierce resolve takes hold.
Spotting the last corpse threatening Frackit, Paritosh's eyes narrow. "I will not let you harm my friend!" he shouts, charging forward with fierce determination.
With a powerful sprint, he barrels into the skeleton, using his body weight to knock it off balance, hoping to protect the small gnome from its grasp.
"Get away from him, you foul creature!" Paritosh bellows, throwing himself into the fray, prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure Frackit’s safety. His heart races, and he knows that every moment counts in this desperate struggle.
I've no idea what you want me to roll, but here is a d20, and my THACO is a 16.

Attack (+1 Scimitar): 16 - 1d20 ⇒ 16 - (9) = 7
Damage (Slashing): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Frackit Alloyeye |
Frackit uses the sand to wipe clean his Axe blade and then puts away.
" Well that was fun. Anyone know last rights for these poor souls?" he asks looking at those around still u familiar here about such things.
Zairiah |
Zariah will check the bodies for anything useful and then tend to the horses. If no one else has checked by that point, she'll search the wagon.
Looking at the tracks she murmurs
Wonder where they came from, and whether it is something we should clean up, or stay away from.
Paritosh Jumbal |
"What is this?" he mutters, dread creeping into his voice as he steps closer. The sight of the stone sarcophagus, ancient and foreboding, sends a shiver down his spine. "A sarcophagus, sealed and now uncovered. This is ill fortune indeed!"
He instinctively steps back, a wary expression on his face as he surveys the burial linens strewn haphazardly around the scene. "By Najm, I have heard tales of what lies within such tombs. Spirits that refuse to rest, curses that haunt the living!"
Paritosh's heart races, the fear of the unknown gnawing at him. "These linens… they are not mere remnants. They speak of lives lost and stories untold. What horrors have we awakened?"
He glances back at his companions, seeking reassurance in their presence. "Let us tread carefully, friends. For whatever power resides within that stone coffin, I fear it may not take kindly to intruders."
Frackit Alloyeye |
'So wait are you telling me, that that coffin was holding something far worse than these things?'Frackit asks looking at the others.
"So these things were his work? Or what ever malevolence animated the thing in the first place." Frackit says as he taps his chin.
"Okay so do we know what's around here that it could hide in? Or head towards? I assume its semi intelligent"
Paritosh Jumbal |
Paritosh takes a step closer to the sarcophagus, his brow furrowed in thought as Frackit raises his concerns.
"You raise a fair point, Frackit," he replies, gesturing towards the stone coffin. "But if we consider the size of this sarcophagus, it is far too small to have housed all the undead we just faced."
He shakes his head, a look of worry crossing his features. "I fear that these zombies did not emerge from this one place. There must be another source, another hiding spot from which they came. Perhaps there are more coffins or graves hidden in the shadows around us."
Paritosh glances back at the sarcophagus, his voice lowering slightly. "And if this is just a single vessel, it may contain something even more dreadful within it—something that could awaken with a thirst for vengeance."
He takes a deep breath, steadying himself. "We cannot underestimate what might be lying in wait. We should prepare ourselves for anything that might spring forth from this resting place."
With a determined look, he adds, "Let us remain vigilant and investigate further. There are more questions to be answered before we proceed."
Zairiah |
I am going to continue to search the bodies and wagons. After that is done, we'll decide whether to follow or not. It sounds like people are in favor of following and stopping whatever it is, but first we make sure there are no hidden survivors and get what loot we can.
Zairiah |
Zairiah shows the documents to everyone.
A mummy... predating the Loregiver. She has one other possession that predates the Loregiver, and she thinks of the brass jambiya, taking it out of its sheath and holding it.
Strangely, there seems to be nothing else. Did the mummy turn the whole caravan into undead then? Would we risk the same fate going after it?
Are we in danger of missing our deadline in getting back to Muluk? If not, maybe we should try to kill it before it attacks another group?
Zairiah |
Well, we'll miss out on our bonus if we go after the mummy. Let's go to Muluk. We'll have to come back this way if we want to capture Yodfah and rescue the boy, so maybe we can deal with it if it causes more damage later?
What do you all think?
Frackit Alloyeye |
" See he is thinking about married life. Doesnt want to be banished to the work shed!!!" Frackit laughs as he then nods.
" Yes, I concur, head back do some research, i form the proper authorities and then bam we track the dissecated fellow down and make aure he is put to rest!" Frackit goes back to the bodies ans begins to speak over the bodies in gnome.
He speaks of the Crafters lament. The death of the raw, removing the dross, to be born anew as a beautiful piece in the Sparkling Wits forge. There they will be sent to thier other gods realm as a beautiful golden soul for the god to acxept with open arms.
Once done, he takes some gold and places it in the mouths of those he can and shuts thier mouths. When done, he will sprinkle sand over theme and returns.
" Anyone else who wants to preform last rites feel free I have done mine" He says with a heavy breath
Nura Hamdani |
Nura hides a scoff beneath a cough. In her eyes, we have already saved them from undeath, a fate worse than death itself.

Frackit Alloyeye |
Frackit looks on and goes to whoever is next on the watch. "Hey, are there any tribes of Elves around here who hunt, um...things" he says trying to put into words what he saw.
Would Frackit know what a Bull oryx is?
Frackit Alloyeye |
Frackit will point out the area he saw them in.
"Not sure what the deer was, but it seemed they wanted it bad enough" he says not sure what the deer are.
"I mean it was Deer like, Not really any deer I'm used too?' He says a bit confused.
