I'm going to be on short notice until Monday. I have a con this weekend (CONTRAflow in New Orleans) and I'm prepping for it now. So if I am holding things up, please go ahead and bot me, and I'll be back in action next week, though I will try to check in as often as possible. If you are in the area or attending, I'm running three Savage Worlds scenarios: a science-fiction romp titled Moon at the Edge of Oblivion, a weird west session called Night of the Grizz, and a sneak peek at the upcoming Deadlands: Dark Ages called Sins of the Father.

I can't think of another way out, if the genie has fulfilled his terms of the contract. Feeling extra-stupid today. I guess we pay him.

I'll be out at an IT conference and unable to post all next week.

I am making my bi-annual trek to Disney World starting November 29 and going through December 8. If I am in your game, please bot me as needed. If you are in my game, sit tight, and we'll pick up on my return. I should be able to post pretty regularly right up until leaving, however.

Are we discussing what each of us want individually, or looking for a party gift? (Agree that I am not sure what is available in this setting. I do have the Al Qadim guide, which I will have to peruse, but does anyone have a link to a general AD&D guide with general treasure by price or something? I have one for Pathfinder like that, and I can definitely search, but not sure of a resource for Paritosh offhand.)
What does the party most need?

Well, one has to take into consideration what he has, he probably has magical scrolls mostly priestly kinds but might have some arcane. Mathematical devices, compasses, stuff of that nature. This AD&D2e so magic items are not as easy to get your hands on like in Pathfinder. Or... something else...

Here is the description:
Ledger of Reclaimed Measure
Wondrous Item (Relic of Zann)
This brass-bound ledger appears to contain etched geometric proofs, ratios, and notations in a precise dwarven hand. Its pages resemble thin sheets of stone yet flex like parchment. When opened with deliberate intent, faint grid-lines shimmer briefly in the air, suggesting that the world itself has been rendered measurable.
The Ledger embodies the Zakharan Zann ideal that order is inherent to reality and may be perceived by disciplined minds. It functions only for a creature acting with patience and purpose; hurried or reckless handling causes the writing to blur into meaningless marks for 1 turn.
Orderly Fortune
When the Ledger is carried openly and the party acts according to a declared plan (marching order, prepared strategy, or organized retreat), all members gain a +1 bonus to saving throws vs. non-magical hazards (falls, exposure, mundane traps, etc.). This benefit is lost immediately if the group descends into panic, betrayal, or obvious disorder, and cannot be regained until the party spends at least one uninterrupted turn reorganizing.
Measure of the Journey
Once per day, a priest or adherent to Zann may study the Ledger for one turn before travel. The Priest gets for the next 12 hours(adherent only 6):
The party cannot become lost by natural terrain
Travel pace is treated as one category better for purposes of fatigue
Water and rations last 50% longer due to careful allocation
Magical effects that obscure direction function normally; the Ledger governs logistics, not divination.
Proof Against Contradiction
Once per day, the reader may compare a spoken claim or written statement against the Ledger’s principles. The user learns whether the statement is logically inconsistent with known facts. This reveals contradictions, not intent; a cleverly phrased lie that is internally consistent will not register.
Equation of Battle
If consulted for one full round before combat begins, the Ledger grants tactical clarity. For the first three rounds of that combat, the party gains either:
+1 to Armor Class, or
–1 to enemy attack rolls
The choice must be declared before initiative is rolled. This effect ends immediately if the formation breaks or the Ledger is dropped.
Limitations
The Ledger ceases functioning for 24 hours if used in furtherance of deliberate treachery, needless destruction, or deception of innocents. During this time its pages appear blank stone.

So, did anyone have a to do list that you guys wanted to accomplish before we move on to the next thing.
Good question. The mission list that I had saved in my profile is below. ... is this up to date, or do we have other loose threads to take care of now?
From what I have, we could clear out the undead, or help Siti take over some of Yodfah's business. ... Don't we already have an appointment to talk to someone where we could take Oasim? (Not sure.)
**Take Qasim (Glass Man) back to Muluk (find Amakim's descendant) [we are here, but I think we need to take him to the ruler] (Muluk)
**Take the healing water to cure the Grand Caliph in Huzuz (we also have a second waterskin full that we could sell)
**Resolve the Yodfah situation.
--Subtask 1: Help Siti (Doppelganger) has seen Yodfah already, but not sure that quest is complete (Yodfah is probably with Brotherhood of the True Flame in the Weeping Desert) ...and Siti might be able to help us undermine Yodfah here by posing as him? Maybe we can take over his businesses?
--Subtask 2: Kill/Neutralize Yodfah (and the brotherhood of the True Flame) for poisoning and kidnapping the son from the House of Hanif. (Please correct me if my name-memory is shoddy here.) ... we already owed him/them from killing our friend and leaving us to be eaten by zombies, but we weren't strong enough to face them... maybe we are now?]
--Subtask 3: Deal with the undead beneath the tombs where Yodfah/Brotherhood of Flame tried to kill us. Kind of a separate thing, but related... we need to clean out that threat to Muluk even though we weren't previously strong enough.
Other NPCs:
**Rashid -- honor bound to the party for a year and a day; He is in Muluk minding our ship.
**Silverthroat -- with the party's caravan. He is the one that led us in to find the healing water.

Well, let's get some really high-end clothes if we haven't. Don't want to offend the Calipha. I think that is what we were planning on doing before this side-quest. Get decked out and find out when we are meeting the Calipha (with Qasim).

Well dressed desert bumpkin is better than poorly dressed desert bumpkin. :) Let's do it. :)

I accidentally broke my glasses and haven't a spare set. If I am slow, please be forgiving. I hope to have them replaced within a week or two.

As much as it pains me, I am going to have to exit this game. My workload has increased, and I have to cut back on my online gaming. Please do not take this as a reflection on GMEdwin's GMing, nor any of the players. I have greatly enjoyed adventuring with all of you. Good luck!
