So I've reviewed both Dungeon Planet and the beta of Uncharted Worlds. I think both systems can accomplish that space opera/western feel, but I'm leaning towards Dungeon Planet because 1) it is fully compatible with all the DW classes out there, and 2) I know the rules inside and out. That said, I will steal the Factions and Debt mechanics from Uncharted Worlds.
So tentatively thinking it is set in a generic fantasy world fast forwarded to the age of intergalactic space travel. The PCs role in that universe would be decided in initial discussions.
So Emma, Dhice, Moosh, Hjalmar, and anyone else, if you would be interested in that I'll figure out how to get a game page set up.

Yes to a drider. Generally any class will work. The only caveat is that if you somehow manage to finagle a +4 or +5 to your main stat rolls, I may reel it in. This stems from a previous experience where a player was rolling +5 to attack...
Also, the monacle is actually a Monacle of Intraparty Discord.

I have a question about armor. If I have a move that gives you +2 Armor naturally, does that stack with worn armor? Does it stack with another move that gives +2 armor naturally as well?

Ah. Last game I played, the GM ruled that only armor effects that gave you the highest amount of armor counted - anything less was simply redundant, and did not stack. So, for example, if I had stone skin that gave me +1 armor, and was wearing plate which gave me +3, he ruled I only had +3, as armor did not stack.
Also, those Dungeon planet classes seem preatty Brutal. Engine of Pain by itself, with the right moves, can throw down 26 damage with an extreamly lucky roll! What can man do against such reckless hate? More importantly, how would regular DW classes evon compare to such a monstrosity

The Engine of Destruction seems to be a reskin of the fighter, which is apparently balanced enough, Grigor not withstanding :P. What can EoD do that Fighter can't?

Morley distracts Dhice with "work" and deftly takes his coins.
Tricks of the Trade: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 3) + 2 = 11

Mooshy, in case I don't manage to post before we move on (because I rarely do, yay timezones) I'll be using Lay on Hands on everyone who got hit by the Chaos Shard flames. It simply won't do to have that stuff lying around, so Emma will be (subconsciously) absorbing as much of it as she can.

Well, I have an idea for a replacement character if Bathilda ever buys the farm. I know that we are supposed to be different classes, but I think having a paladin that acts as a foil to Emma would be fun.
A sweet, innocent type that doesn't have a lot of experience with all the cruelty of this world. She's just trying to do her best to help how she can.
Naturally, she's also going to be rather gullible. :D

Am I the only one a bit wary of zombie plague being a thing? I mean sure, if we didnt have a team member who will routinely be making them I wouldnt mind so much, but hes barely even begun doing it and already Bathilda was looking at a potential death sentence. Just really irks me.

Or we could just all hide behind a barricade and snipe them. ;)
Honestly, I never really liked the Zombie plague thing anyway. not just in this game. I would like to know beforehand if something like that is going to come up if we use an ability because if our characters would know the risk, we can act accordingly.
That said, It's still the GM's call, but I'd prefer not to die via GM fiat.

Just not as fun when a downside to the class is a downside for everyone. I dont know about you but I dont much enjoy my characters dying because someone else forced a roll on me.

Yeah, if the result of a bite was instant death that would be too much. But I doubt Moosh would have made an instant death hard move. Probably something more like a debility coupled with a bad thing, such as if you die while infected you will rise against your friends.

Leatherbeard- Slayers in Warhammer are outcasts from normal dwarven culture. Basically they feel they've lost honor in some way - screwed up on the job, unlucky in love, etc. - and instead of committing suicide have decided to die fighting in glorious battle, against the worst enemies the world has to offer.
Initially they search out Trolls, then progress to Giants, Dragons and ultimately Demons in their search for glorious and honorable death. They are known to shun Armor (and even clothing), cover themselves in tattoos and dye their hair brilliant colors (most commonly orange) in order to attract attention on the battlefield and fulfill their death wish.
They're not really a religious order, though they do sometimes congregate together since they're seeking a similar fate, and think they're unworthy of hanging out with more honorable Dwarves.

I have to admit that I'm a little frustrated (maybe that's a strong word because I don't care THAT much) by the looting being WIS based. I don't quite understand how there's a narrative justification for high WIS characters being 3x more likely than me to find magical doodads.
If it was just coin I wouldn't care at all, but there's some fun magical stuff going out and 2d6+2 is going to hit 10+ WAY more often than straight 2d6.
Mooshy is there some rationale here that I'm missing?

Sorry for butting in but I have been a long time lurker/fan from one of Mooshy's other games. I agree that the rat rave is awesome and if Witchmother is half as good as Wolfmother it will be a shame to have to kill them. Go listen to Joker and the Thief by Wolfmother. (Back to silent lurker mode) thanks.

Yup, they are.
Heres a link to a well made Wiki about them.
Skaven are such a dark race, yet have some rather humours elements to them, like Ratling guns (basically a medieval mini gun), warp lightning cannons (exactly what it sounds like) and Doom Wheels (Basically a giant crushing implement that looks like an over-sized hamster wheel)
Quite frankly, I think its this underlying silliness below all the doom and gloom that lets me enjoy this game so much.
All that said, this isnt Warhammer, so its not like Mooshy cant depict them however he wants :)

No, hasn't been any discussion on it from Mooshy so far.
Just to clarify the numbers here: since the phat lootz are found at 10+, Dhice has a 16.7% chance of hitting that. Someone with Wis+2 has a 41.7% chance of hitting it. Later in the game, when that same character goes to Wis+3, they will have a 58.3% chance of finding cool stuff with every scavenge roll.
Even if the group agrees that some characters should be "better" at finding magical treasure than others, I question if we want the same characters finding the best stuff more than 50% of the time at higher levels.
