Well, I was honestly hitting the point were I was needing to cut back on my games anyway. Glad to hear that its the baby taking up your time though. All the best GM, everyone, I'll see you around sometime.

The book contained a bound and slumbering daemon of ice/winter. The spiders were trying to hide it as they instinctively knew it to be evil (as they are hibernate animals). A "hero" stole it from the local library, stopping strange occurrences there, and went off to have his adventures. Unfortunately he didn't get very far, and was swarmed by spiders who killed him and took the book. On return of the book to the library the daemon would reawaken slowly begin to break free and battle with the daemons of the 3 other elemental/seasonal daemons bound to books there.
I hoped this would give the party a second way to prove their use to the town, acting as ghostbusters against the daemons.

Everyone tells me it gets easier when my daughter gets to 6 weeks old, so maybe, but I can't guarentee anything. Also I just ruined the secret!
I was using this game to figure out the background material of a RL game, so to an extent what you did will live on.
