Well that was fun working three straight late nights. Then of course with table top D&D I could not update last night. Finally now back on track...
Vaundour"The Gentleman"Gathlain |
I'm posting this on all of my games. I recently went to the doctor's, for the first time in over 10 years, and while I am relatively healthy, I am on a couple meds. One of the meds, unfortunately, does make me lethargic and not up to doing much of anything. If I don't post for a day or so, which I'm trying to do, you'll know why. Feel free to DMPC if needed.
Soren Marsailles |
I understand that feeling, although that's actually what my medicine is supposed to prevent (among other things). Still, hope you're doing well.
Also, I'll post in tomorrow, sorry for the bit of silence. I had a health scare (it was a false alarm, no worries) and then a hectic weekend, but suffice to say Soren will be ready and back in action after class tomorrow. Long story short Soren will head out with Balin to drum up the rumor mill, and I think I'll head out again (not necessarily in that order) with a different disguise both to learn some news clandestinely, as well as find either a brothel or somewhere I can gamble so I don't start taking penalties for my drawback.

So, the vile fiends at Myth-Weavers have lost all character sheet data saved after July of last year. I'm having to go through all of my character sheets and fix any problems I come across. I'm not sure how long this will take, so feel free to DMPC me until I can get everything fixed. So sorry about this.

Ah, that sucks...

Soren, Nate, Aurex, and "Sir Balin" are done for the day. Everyone else post in as to how you want to spend the second half of your day.
After that we can move on to the meeting with Grumble's spy.

The DM hopes this twist in the landscape of Aldencross is found to be enjoyable. :-)

Hi, I'm JDPhipps's girlfriend. He's in the hospital right now and has no access to a computer, but he will be out sometime tomorrow and can post then.
Oh jeez is he ok?
Thanks for letting us know!

Oh no, hope he's allright
Soren Marsailles |
Don't worry all, I'm alive and (mostly) well. To both be blunt and keep it short, I had some problems with my psychotropic medications and ended up admitting myself/being tricked into the psychiatric ward for a few days in order to both be stabilized and re-analyze my medication and dosages. I'm doing fine now and I'm back at home. I was gonna post in tonight but I've been trying to catch up since I got home and it's super late here, so I'm gonna crash and pop back in tomorrow.
Lothryin Harad |
Fear not, what say you about that idea. It certainly would not be hard to trick them into a meeting place where we could eliminate them quite easily. Then exposing them as worshipers of Lamashtu would make us seem legit and perhaps make the rest of our mission easier. It is just an idea however.
Morana Soto |
Very glad you are back Soren
Lothryin I like that idea!
Grumble Jack |
Asmodeus is one of the few evil gods who is prone to working well with others. I think we should at least talk to them, find out what they want and how we can use that for leverage, and see what they already know before we plan their deaths.
Our plans seem to align very well with Lamashtu's goals already. It would be a shame not to exploit that.
Soren Marsailles |
I agree, I think we'd be smart to try and make peace before anything else. We can always solve things the old-fashioned way if an alliance doesn't work out. Alternately, we can always betray them later and kill them in their sleep.
the Shining Host |
I'll give the group a bit more time to solidify a plan before I move along, after all, now YOU all are in the drivers seat as to how you want to proceed.
Alice Duvotour |

Kill them in their sleep and then blame everything on them. As they clearly were some of those evil cultists we were after.
Morana Soto |
I have no issue with trying to go peacefully then killing them only if need be. My first instinct was to play nice but having a back up plan is always a good idea.
the Shining Host |
I get the sense the team is going Team Up 1st and Kill Em All 2nd.
I'll check back in tomorrow where we'll have the final votes I think :-)
Soren Marsailles |
I see no reason to kill them at all if it doesn't become necessary. They might be chaotic evil, but Asmodeus has a habit of being able to cooperate with ideologically opposed people when it's for a common goal. Taking out Mitra, even if Lamashtu doesn't get any position of state reverence, is at worst a parallel move for them and at best a step upward. If they need to die it can be done, but if they continue to function as allies I say we keep them around.
Soren Marsailles |
I figured we'd go down as a group, but Soren or another of the Diplomacy-types in this party might want to approach first to set the tone, so to speak. If no one else volunteers I'll go, if someone else wants to then by all means, please take the lead.
Soren Marsailles |
I think it's the other way around, but I'm not sure. Vance is a local hero, makes sense to me that he'd be the leader. Perhaps I'm remembering incorrectly?
the Shining Host |

You misremembered but that is a minor point. The High Priest made his minion the Mayor so people would think he was NOT the High priest. See how effective it was! :-)
Grumble Jack |
GM, can I get a ruling about how Telepathy works in your game?
The Cacodaemonia rules specifically say Raaven can communicate with Grumble anywhere on the same plane, which makes me assume that obstructions aren't an issue.
What about normal, non-disease enhanced telepathy? Does it require line of sight, or is it good anywhere within range?

Anywhere within range.
Nathanial Torken |
I will be away on vacation and completely without internet until Thursday. Please DMPC as needed.
Morana Soto |
Sorry for the delay. I hurt myself at work and have not been feeling well. I have nothing to add but Morana would happily help Alice on that noble quest!
Vaundour"The Gentleman"Gathlain |
One thing that might help us, and that we're using in another campaign, is the Bonded Mind teamwork feat. It allows those with the feat to communicate non-verbally with others with the feat as per the message spell.
Morana Soto |
I could work that one into my list if others can. It is an awesome teamwork feat. People tend to ignore my suggestion for it though.
Morana Soto |
I really do not have anything to add. Sorry for the lack of posting.
Storyteller Shadow |

No problem, long as I know you are lurking :-)
Grumble Jack |
It's really been the Soren and Grumble show since we got here. I know that's how games go sometimes, certain characters take the lead for certain challenges. After this scene I plan on having Grumble take a back seat for a while so other characters get time in the spotlight.
Morana Soto |
I have no issue with it and that is how games tend to go. You are a very entertaining :D and it makes sense that the two of you are in the lead currently.
Alice Duvotour |
I GM a home campaign where the players need a lot of handholding. Not in a bad way, everyone needs to learn.
But its great to sit back for a moment and enjoy the story :)
When you need knowledges and intimidation I'm your girl. Alice otherwise isnt really the talky kind.
Morana Soto |
Morana will get talky but currently it feels right to have Soren and Grumble in the lead.
I too have the knowledge's and sense motive is important.
Vaundour"The Gentleman"Gathlain |
To be honest, I'm at a bit of a loss with my character. I love Vaundour, but I built him around being a face character, and it seems pretty much every body here can be a face. No offence as I love the character, but even the half-ogre is a face character. And really, with me giving up my trap skills and such, speaking is all Vaundour is really good fore at the moment. I don't really want to, but to just ask in case I change my mind, would you allow me to build another character? Not sure what I'll do, but probably not something three other people at min can do just as well.

Sure, you can build a character that perhaps is aligned with the Mother of Monsters. The danger is you would not be part of the Knot and as a result, the other characters could, slay yours :-)
I don't think that in this group anyone would slay you without cause but it's something to consider. At least in the short term.
