I think our current party is more than adequate.
Also Nate will actually be focusing more on ranged DPS the more we get into open combat. He will be taking a lot of archery feats.

the Shining Host |

Alright then' we'll roll with 6. If you ever want a 7th let me know and I'll Recruit.

Nathanial Torken |

Perhaps I'll do that, could be quite funny!
Also as far as Nate/Aurex's relationship, I heavily recommend reading the dragonrider class. I have it linked in Nate's header. There is a very particular relationship that exists between the two, but in this case it is more that Aurex is the one in charge.

Grumble Jack |

Go ahead, GM. I'm pretty liberal when it comes to ideas of character agency. If anyone needs to have Grumble do something in order to further the story or have a character moment, go for it. At this point I figure we all have a pretty good idea of who the characters are, so occasionally having other players describe grumble's thoughts or actions is fine with me.
The only place I draw the line is speech. I put a lot of thought into how and why grumble talks the way he does, so if you need grumble to say something specific to further a scene, gust give me the gist of it and I'll translate.

Morana Soto |

Sorry for the lack of posting. I finally got to be a GM again after a two month hiatus and my group wanted to do a two day thing since it was a three day weekend. Any my niece made me sick yesterday.
I agree that the current players are brilliant. Again I thank you all for letting me come along for the ride. Alice teaching Grumble to read is definitely in my top two of amazing things I have read on this board. In my heart though little can trump my first PbP since it was goblins and a musical.
I love the idea of the Waters of Lamashtu mixed with Delay Poison. That is rather brilliant to my sleepy self Is that what we want to go with? Because it is brilliant! Assuming it is an option.

Alice Duvotour |

Paizocon is freaking awesome but the hotel wifi sucks to high heaven.
I wont expect to decently post untill I get back home. Which will be friday. Then jet lag will hit

the Shining Host |

More of the Tower is revealed by your visit!
The green area is where the Great Hall resides.
The top level is what Soren is about to see.

Soren Marsailles |

I actually can't see it, I sent you an access request.
Also, assuming I'm getting a separate post... that's worrisome. I can't wait.

Storyteller Shadow |

The boards have been a mess since last Wednesday night. As a result I have fallen behind in all games. I'll get to this one within the next few nights if not tonight.

Morana Soto |

It was rage inducing. I look forward to when you get readjusted

the Shining Host |

Further updates Friday, I want that scene to sink in a bit even though only 1 PC was there to witness it.

Soren Marsailles |

I had a feeling he was corruptible, if not outright secretly evil. Especially when I saw the symbol of Asmodeus, but even just from talking to him my first time at the Tower. It just seemed a little... off. I'm definitely glad I'm not dead, though. I don't think I could manage him on my own, and I wasn't certain enough that I was going to try anything just yet. It was just enough of a hint that I suspected.

Heh. RAW he isn't actually but I thought I'd change some things up a bit... ;-)

You did a great job of foreshadowing it, then. I was honestly unsure until that happened, but like I said I had a sneaking suspicion. I was going to suggest we try to corrupt him instead of kill him, but it seems we've crossed that bridge long ago.

Morana Soto |

My email oh mighty Shining Host? Cause I have some good people to poison. Also what are we using to do this? There have been a few suggestions so far throughout the discussion thread.

I did not forget, next update I'll address that :-)

That was one tense moment... But I am worried now about Grumble. He said 'he'. Is mitra actually female? Otherwise we might have a boo boo over there...
I remember thinking so too, but Mitra is a male deity.

*sigh of relief*

the Shining Host |

Yeah, that was unexpected. Nice twist.
Soon enough it will become a bigger pain in the ass than if you just killed him so that much more fun... for me ;-)
Also, my next set of posts will put you all in a bit of a conundrum so expect yet more twists in the new few days as between tonight and tomorrow night I'll be updating all 24 of my games. (Assuming the boards comply). Whee!

24 games? I'm not even IN 24 games. I really don't know how you do it.

The way the boards and work have been lately, I've not been doing it very well...

Nathanial Torken |

I will be mostly unavailable this entire week. I am volunteering as a camp counselor and the only free time we get is a little bit in the late evening before we go to sleep. I may be able to slip in some small posts during that time, but I wouldn't count on much. Apologies for the short notice, and please DMPC me as needed.

No worries, thanks for the heads up. :-)

Storyteller Shadow |

Hopefully the boards are stable again (they have been this morning) and I can get out updates over the next two days.

the Shining Host |

Had to attend a graduation tonight. Updates here tomorrow.
Hope you are enjoying the twists I have dropped into the campaign as they continue to unfold ;-)

Storyteller Shadow |

Just an FYI I will be taking 2 DM board breaks in the month of July:
1. July 2 through July 4 and
2. July 8 through July 11.
During this time I will be working on plot for some of the Campaigns as well as updating Campaign Information tabs for all Campaigns.

Storyteller Shadow |

I still have an opening as noted below, anyone interested?
Recruitment is OPEN once again for Bloodlines - A V20 Vampire the Dark Ages Campaign - Clan Ventrue
You will start as Mortal.
All I need is a concept to start with.
This is a LONG running game, 10,000 posts. However, prior knowledge of the Chronicle is not necessary or quite frankly even desirable as you should not know anything of what has already taken place anyway.
For some reason no one seems to want to play Ventrue. Oi...

the Shining Host |

I have once been dubbed the worst Ventrue by my local vampire chronicle.
LOL

Alice Duvotour |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

I am however a good Gangrel.
Story time: we're out near the water treatment plant. As no one gets there after dark, as its smelly and noisy, and no one calls the cops because the darn kids are LARPing again.
The Ventrue, Torries and Tremere are doing things, and I'm bored. Gangrel dont get to make important decisions. Neither do the Brujah, but they brought a pack of cards.
So I start making noises, and everyone ignores me, because the Gangrel is making weird noises in field. Not important.
So a few minutes later they look up and I'm friends with six big cows.
(cows are very curious. IF you do weird things, they will come check that out).
Six grown cows are a small army. Gangrel powers!

Soren Marsailles |

Wow, has it been that long? Now that I think about it, I think my Kingmaker game hit that mark a month ago... pretty crazy to think about.

Yep I remember cause I started the game while on vacation in Jamaica and my wife kept complaining that I was posting on vacation ;-)

Morana Soto |

So before I post does Alice have a cover name? I do not remember

Alice Duvotour |

No. Alice chose not to have a cover name. She's been in anonimity so long on the boat that there is no reason she would be known by her real name. It would also cut down on the bluff, as Alice is a lousy bluffer.

Morana Soto |

Fair point though right now I am trapped on my phone which sucks for in game posts so I will post after my live game

Soren Marsailles |

For anyone potentially interested, I just learned that Mitra is loosely based off the Indo-Iranian god of the same name, which in turn inspired the cult of Mithraism in Rome, devoted to the god Mithras. The cult rapidly rose and subsequently fell, and was apparently a rival to early Christianity and some practices (such as Christmas) may be tied to it. I thought it was pretty interesting.

Yeah, that is a fascinating backstory, I looked into it years ago as part of a Vampire game. One of the main NPCs is named Mithras and claims to be the God that so many worshipped both in Mesopotamia and the Cult God in Rome.
Thanks for sharing!
I'll try and update tonight, having a slow start getting things rolling again from a DM perspective...
