I like it DH, proceed with the cinematics :-)
Updates tomorrow or Saturday sorry hectic week!

Morana Soto |

I got hurt at work and the medicine that the doctor gave me has made me really foggy. I still get to work which is good for my bills. But if need be bot me cause I have no idea how functional I will be.
I can manage to type a little at the moment to respond, the brain fog of the meds is really strong. Typing is slow going. I am totally cool with you taking artistic liberties :) I will make sure this is the first place I jump back into in that case. I should be better tomorrow but I felt mentioning it was worth while. And he is in physical form I think. Cause the fighting and all.

Morana Soto |

Understood. Also I now know people who say that besides me!

Morana Soto |

So sorry to here that. Take time if you feel you need it.

Storyteller Shadow |

Posted this on my status thread but here it is again for those of you who don't follow it:
Magnus the Great Dane died at 5:04 on Sunday June 24th in the sunshine of his own backyard of congestive heart failure. 6 years - 7 months - 3 days too damn young. He left behind one sad puppy brother, one eternally cheerful little sister [who informed me that he was in dog heaven with Shady the Black Lab (who I had as a boy and teen) EXCEPT when we are driving, when we are driving they are chasing after us], and one very sad doggy Daddy - he will be greatly missed.
I will be updating once more either this Friday evening or Saturday evening, barring my life falling the f+%* apart again.
Hopefully, I can catch a break and life will be somewhat normal for a while and my posting rate will be better and our lives all full of joy from gaming.

Nathanial Torken |

My condolences. Take your time, we'll be here for you when you come back.
I am celebrating my 7 year anniversary with my girlfriend and may be somewhat unavailable for the weekend, please DMPC as needed.

the Shining Host |

I passed out for a few hours this afternoon after having one last moment of silence for my beloved boy.
I will update this game tomorrow.
Sorry for the delay folks.

Soren Marsailles |

Really sorry to hear about your dog, that's never an easy thing to deal with. If you need more time, I don't think any of us are going to complain.

Storyteller Shadow |

OK. I am back on track today, been trying to catch up on a lot of things like work and sleep and battling a lot of things like my ex and depression. I've left this weekend empty as I needed a break so I am sitting in the sunshine of my backyard posting, not quite the same as it was when my Elderboy was alive but I am getting used to it. My young pup has a lot of wonderful qualities but high energy isn't one of them! I did bring him to a restaurant with outside seating last night so that was fun that and just hitting the wall at 9:15 prevented any updates last night.

Storyteller Shadow |

OK, I've finally got the numbers worked out for the Siege of the Keep. I will have a LONG post up later tonight, going to take a break for a bit to think my posts over.

Storyteller Shadow |

Ugh the f&$%ing day and evening got away from me once again. I have zero chores/errands to do tomorrow post 9 am so I WILL update this game tomorrow, the good news is that I have at least laid the groundwork to do so today.

the Shining Host |

OK back with some new developments/complications!
I take it Nate is still holding back with (now NPC) Loth in the woods?

Nathanial Torken |

Yeah. If Aurex gets into a bad situation I want to be able to summon him to safety, not another fight.

Nathanial Torken |

HAHA, COME AND FIGHT ME FOUL BEAST!!!
Nah. *burns more s%#+ down*
Some of the greatest strengths of dragons, liches, and other massively powerful beings is that while their stats are powerful their utility used correctly can be oppressive.

the Shining Host |

With Aurex effectively keeping the bulk of the Soldiers remaining at bay, I will shift the action solely to the Tower.
---
When will the group set off the flares? There are probably few enough soldiers in residence that now would be the time...
Also, I am setting up for a final battle very soon with the group and some surprise defenders of the Tower. The group is currently higher level than the AP necessarily calls for so even down two PCs I think it is a winnable though tough battle especially with the Lamashtans as fodder.
Then we will FINALLY be done with Book I.

the Shining Host |

Just to be clear, the party is going to follow the Soldier to try and find the Magister?

the Shining Host |

I passed out last night. I will update tonight after work if not at work (assuming tome alots for that).

the Shining Host |

Kid up late and I am beat, I have tomorrow off, will update then. We will be going into a battle right away just an FYI.

Soren Marsailles |

Personally, I say we fight here. We can reinforce the Lamashtans, and Soren has the Angel Slayer trait so she's pretty well adapted for taking out the celestials. If we can kill them, I'm guessing other than the magister they're the most dangerous thing in the tower and we'll have the Lamashtans to help slay the magister. If I pump enough resources into killing the celestials I can probably kill one a round between Judgments, Bane, Rapid Shot, and my grit abilities; if not, they'll still likely be weak enough that we collectively can finish them off.
After that, we can get everything ready for Sakarrot before finding the magister. If we kill everyone here he won't know we're not who we say we are, so we could even launch a surprise attack using the Lamashtans as bait by pretending we've captured them and then killing them all.

Grumble Jack |

I disagree.
If we let the celestials slaughter the lamashtans then we don't have to deal with them later.
Also, if the magister shows up in the middle of this fight, that could be real bad for us.
I think strategically, the best thing to do is keep going, maintain our cover, let the lamashtans soften up the celestials while we go kill the magister, and then come back and kill the celestials afterward.
That said, if the group decides to fight here, Grumble isn't going to complain.

Alice Duvotour |

I'm back from my vacation, and straight into a heatwave. Dont expect too much of me.
As far as tactical desicions go, I have no opinion really. Altough Alice would most likely go for the magister. Steal his toys...

Morana Soto |

As one who is not amazing in combat yet Morana will vote for the option that will be less likely to get her killed. There is no way to promise that we will kill everyone and if even one gets away we could blow our cover but leaving the celestial to potentially heal up before we deal with them again could be a problem.
I'm gonna suggest an evil and dumb thing. We could split up along with some of the lamashtans. PBP is great for splitting the party and not losing time like a live game. Though I am rather sleep deprived and the caffeine is hitting my system so I feel a little crazy.

the Shining Host |

Seems like the consensus (though only slightly) is to find the Magister.
Tonight, I shall post, sorry for the delays. Every week finds some new weird s!$# in my life to deal with...

Soren Marsailles |

Hey guys, I'm having... some very serious problems with my personal life at the moment that I'm still trying to figure out. It's just been a mess and every time I think I know what's going on I seem to go deeper down the rabbit hole.
My point is, sorry if my posting falls off. If you need me and I'm not posting, bot me. If we're in combat, Soren prioritizes the most powerful enemy unless one of the party is in danger from a more immediate threat, in which case she'll shoot at them. If a target seems low she'll use Up Close and Deadly for a grit point if it seems likely she'll get it back from killing them. She'll pass on using Judgments for right now but would like to use Bane if the magister stays alive past a few rounds.
I should be okay to post, it's just everything has really, well, gone to s&!~. While I try to pick up the pieces I don't want to hold you guys up.

Nathanial Torken |

I hope things get better for you Soren. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need to.

Soren Marsailles |

Thanks, guys. The short version is my girlfriend of five years and I have split up, but it's... a lot more complicated than that. She's not sure what she wants and I'm not sure what she wants and the whole thing has become sort of a cluster f#@* that I'm trying to figure out so regardless of how it ends up playing out I can try to get my life on track with or without her. A lot of my future plans involved a plus one, and while it's possible we'll be together again when the dust settles, I need to at least be prepared for the possibility that we won't and I'll need to go it alone for a while from here on out.
I appreciate the offer to talk, though. I'm just trying to deal with what seems to be the very confused and constantly changing mind of someone whom I still love a great deal, and I don't have a lot of energy to do much else.

Morana Soto |

Again if you need to talk or just vent say something and I will echo what the others are saying. I hope it gets better.

Read the Rational Male by Rollo Tommassi. It's worth your time my friend.
No worries I'll bot you in the meantime.
Back from vacation on Monday but I have to draft a contract that day so my vacation is getting cut short by that hurdle. Hopefully I can update Monday, if not Tuesday.

the Shining Host |

Win here, you win the Keep, lose here and well, we'll see if Nate and Aurex can rescue those who are not killed :-)

Nathanial Torken |

Yes at this point Nate is heading in, let me know when he is able to get there :)

Soren Marsailles |

I forgot I actually had this spell, but as soon as possible I'd like Soren to cast Silence with the goal of catching the magister in its area of effect. If I remember correctly you only get the Will save if it targets you directly? If not and he gets one regardless, just slap him with Silence and hope he fails so he can't cast anything with verbal components.
Also, I completely forgot I had Rapid Shot. Since I'm against Touch AC on what I presume to be a wizard, please have Soren use that every time she attacks for maximum damage output.
