When you say "Standard PFS Table" do you mean core? Or no?
If not, I have a Warpriest that would be interested.
Hearing the notice being posted, Febida takes a look. "Not normally one for sea travel, but the experience will be worth it!"
She grabs a quill and signs her name.
"Hey newbie!" She shouts over at the human she was drinking with. "Why don't you sign up? Get some work under your belt!"

A short and (relatively speaking) young dwarf with hair the color of sandstone walks up to the newest member of the Society.
"Welcome to the Lodge, my friend! Please, take a seat! I just got back from my own adventure, so I've got some free time."
Febida carries over a couple of large mugs of ale, sitting at a table with her new friend.
Saba looks slightly relieved that the first person to approach was female, even if it is a dwarf. Guys can be trouble, and they make her nervous. "Your kindness is pleasing, Febida," she says quietly.
They both and watch the blonde crier enter, yell, and post his notice. "Where is the ship heading, do you know?" Sahba asks her new friend. "So long as does not return to Qadira, I may heed the call. I am still not comfortable with ships, though." They catch fire too easily.
As an aside, what's the difference between Standard and Core? Does it refer to the supplements available, or something else?

A spry, strong-looking man with an unreadable age quietly walks up to the sheet and puts his name down.
This guy has mostly played only Season 2 modules. I figure I'll keep up the pattern.

That was my question. Core games only use the Core Rulebook for items, feats, and classes. I believe a Standard game would simply be regular rules for a PFS game, but I'm not sure, hence the question.
"Well just don't look over the side too long and you'll be fine. I prefer my feet on solid ground anyway."
The quill still in her hand Febida looks over to the man that just signed his name. "Hey big guy. Name's Febida. What's your name? We're gonna be goin on this journey together, why not get to know each other? I'll get the drinks." Febida looks up at Sahba. "You in? I think we'll be good company on this venture."

What time will this game be starting, Chadius?
Basically as soon as I get 6 people. Announce a game on this thread and it fills up quickly. I'll wait another day to day and a half.
When you say "Standard PFS Table" do you mean core? Or no?
Not core (is there a name for that?) Eventually I'll start doing Standard and Core versions, but a baby GM needs baby steps.
"Where is the ship heading, do you know?" "So long as does not return to Qadira, I may heed the call. I am still not comfortable with ships, though."
"Uhh...." the blonde human strokes his hair, and reads through the summons more. "Expect to make stops in Ostenso, Corentyn, Kintargo, and Magnimar before reaching the final destinations of the Mordant Spire and Riddleport."
Most of the adventure will take place on the ship on the way to the Mordant Spire.

'Normal' or 'standard' PFS is just that.
Core is not normal or standard, it is the minority play style, so if/when you run Core you would announce it as such.

Like I said, these fill up fast!
The man comes back, prodded by a soldier.
"You want me to stay here until it's full? Fine, jeez."
"So um,"
- Kelsier Palance
- Febida Stonehair
- Gillian Jones
- Rolando Pascal
- Sahba Mandyra
- wilm tsalion
"Can you guys head over to the port? Prepare to sail immediately."

Question: Can you take 10 on your day job check, or am I mistaken?
Pathfinder Society Field Guide (p. 3) "You cannot take 10 or 20 on a Day Job check."
However,
Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play (p. 21) "You may take 10 on a Day Job check, but you may not take 20 nor can you aid another."
... The latter of these two is more recent, actively (?) updated by Paizo, and freely distributed, so I would think it is controlling.

So I'm running a scenario that is just about done and I have a character who left shortly after the game started (with no word, unfortunately).
Since he did not participate in at least half of the scenario, he will be receiving no credit. Do I still type his PFS number in and just award him 0 PP, or do I not even put him in as a player?
I assume he doesn't get a chronicle sheet either.

![]() |

Personally, I try not to, but it also depends a bit on their attitude, reasoning, and just how much they actually did play.
If it was basically the briefing, and they really didn't seem like a jerk, I'd probably not even report them at all, as I don't really see a reason to screw the player out of the opportunity to play that scenario. Especially if they had some sort of real life issue. Being that they didn't tell you, who can say.
This sort of thing doesn't really happen in a normal Face-to-Face game or even really much in other Online Play, so it's kind of more unique to PbP games, which really are not too terribly covered in the general PFS Guide. I have personally had this happen a few times. The only time I never got any word back was actually from the DM, who literally just left everyone hanging mid way through after a character death and the party all hanging. I myself had to buy the scenario and issue out chronicles and get the game reported as we had done enough for it to at least count.
So I know what I would do, and I know what the Guide says to do, but really kind of leave it to your better judgment. Did they really even play at all? Where they brand new to PFS and/or PbP? Have you gotten any word from the player? You can click on their character and check out if they are otherwise posting, which might be an indicator on if they are maybe having some real life issues that are preventing them from posting or warning you. If you are still not sure, you can also have a private chat with one of the VO's who might be able to give more advice.

Important to note that there are sections of the U.S. that have gotten *hammered* with weather a lot the past month or so, so it may be related to that, too.

![]() |

True. I'm pretty close to it right now, but thus far have not lost power or service. Others have, and I know not too long ago there was a massive flood not too far away.
I just meant though that the only info we have is from the DM somewhat vague question. He or she probably knows more, so the specific circumstances we are unaware of, may play a factor.

GM Bauers |

Well, he participated in about 1.5 encounters. 11 posts, including his introductory "my name is" post.
I don't know, I suppose it's borderline, almost have of the scenario. I hadn't considered weather as a factor, though I did see this happened in one of his other PFS games as well, looking at his aliases. Tough call. I just want to be fair to the other players who are risking their lives/potentially using their resources to earn their credit, you know?

![]() |

Certainly. Something you could do is refrain from reporting them for a little bit, seeing if maybe they respond. If in a week or so there is still no word, (and you feel like they where there long enough to count), you can still add them in at that point. Or you could maybe do the reverse and report them as having played, then remove them if you get word that changes your mind.

A swarthy Varisian man enters the common room of the Flaxseed Lodge, looking about for a place to flop down. He's large, well-muscled, and bears the scars and twisted nose of a warrior, and bears a deep scowl upon his face. He drops onto a nearby chair with an audible sigh. "Three years," he mutters to himself. "I had peace, quiet, and a taste of freedom for three years. And now it's all gone, even before I've undergone my Confirmation. One day I'll figure out which god's porridge one of my ancestors pissed in to earn this sort of luck." He leans back and pulls a hat over his eyes, trying to get a bit of rest amidst the other Pathfinders.
Just tossing my name in here, Nikolai would like to get a run of The Confirmation in.

I got you covered, Nikolai.

Two young women turn to look at Nikolai. Their presence at a table together might be remarkable in places other than a Pathfinder Society lodge; the one a pale-skinned, red-haired beauty, the other a rough-looking half-Orc. They study him quietly for a moment, then return to their conversation.
I have two characters that would love to run through the Confirmation. Or any evergreen.

Just note that I need a PFS number if you haven't already registered the characters.

Ok, that was close between Valjoen and Kazzak. Because Valjoen is in my other game (You're up in Slave Ships of Absalom, by the way ;-) ) and Kazzak was my alternate for that game, I'm going to give Kazzak the 6th spot. Hope there's no hurt feelings, Valjoen. I might run it again soon, and it's a scenario that gets run a lot.
Please report to the Discussion Thread

Kazzak
Please finalize everything you need to be PFS legal. We will get started now as there is a bit of RP in this scenario, but we won't leave the Pig's Paunch until everyone's profiles are ready.
