I am working up a warlock right now. It looks like this is going to be a fun class.
However, I do wonder, do we have to have a chronicle by July 20 to keep our vigilante legal to play, or will we have longer since they are extending the playtest another month after that, just with not as much designer back and forth with the players?

A short man with enters the bar, looking somewhat giddy. "Oh I can't believe it! Did I miss the caller? I was supposed to see if I could have my confirmation done....." Turning about, and looking into the room, Orlesk tries to find the caller for his confirmation.
Stat block made, and now just waiting for me to get home.

Dont listen to the naysayers. Unless you have pounce or something similar, Vital Strike is totally worth it for melee combatants with weapons with good damage dice.
It may be a "consolation prize" for full atracking, but it can be very hard to full attack in melee at high levels against tactically savvy enemies.

![]() |

The avenger vigilante (at level 12 mind you) gets a pounce like ability. You get to full attack after a charge, but you take a -4 AC. I figured since it comes in last level for Society play, I'd give the Vital Strike chain a whirl, since I've never used it before. Most of my melee builds are Dex based skill characters. I don't think I've run a pure Str. martial since early 3.5.

Maybe I'm just a Debbie Downer, but I'm underimpressed by the Vigilante class. Cool concept, but it kinda falls flat in practice. The Avenger is really just a fighter who trades his bonus feats (or a barbarian who trades his rage) for social skills, the Stalker is a crappy rogue, the Warlock is an arcane trickster without sneak attack (or a bard without performance), and the Zealot is an inquisitor without bane.

![]() |

Yeah, I like the concept, but I see a lot of areas for improvement already. I will playtest it, report my feedback, and hopefully the end result will come out a lot more along the lines of what it [should be. I see a lot of abilities that contradict each other, and some that just don't make sense.
The casters lose all spell progression above first level if in social guise, for instance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm always quick to point out that the only thing that matters is "will you have fun playing this character?" If that answer is yes, go for it. And I think this has a lot of fun roleplaying potential. But I kinda feel like it's a concept you could apply to just about any class, and still be more effective.

The develpoers said during the Occult playtest that starting with that playtest, they decided it was better to err on the side of making the playtest versions underpowered and buffing them later than the other way around. Far fewer people complain about buffs than nerfs.
I imagine they did the same thing with the vigilante.

"Ok, Pathfinders!" the local Venture-Captain hops up on his stool and pulls out a pair of spectacles. Donning his glasses, he looks down at a clipboard and says, "I've got a new pair of missions coming up!"
"First, I'll need some newer recruits. Several years ago, rebellion in the seaside town of Pezzack resulted in a Chelish blockade to slowly starve the rioters into submission. Since then few have entered or left, trapping the increasingly desperate citizens with little with which to repair their broken homes and eke out a living. Now the Society has learned that an important informant still lives in the ruined town, and we need some agents who must smuggle themselves into Pezzack, navigate the devastated urban landscape, and extract the contact—all without igniting a new rebellion and inviting Cheliax’s unfettered wrath. Come see me for details!"
I'll be running 06-22 Out of Anarchy for levels 1-5 when it is released on Wednesday. You can sign up on my spreadsheet and if there are more than six sign-ups I will roll a lottery on Wednesday to see who gets in.
"Ok, next I'll need some more experienced agents. The occasional unexplained disappearance is common enough in Ustalav, yet a rash of unexplained abductions has led to fearful speculation on the verge of panic in the streets. Hoping to improve the Pathfinder Society’s reputation in Ustalav, Venture-Captain Basia Kalistoff has offered our services in putting an end to this crime wave. Come sign up if you think you can take this mission on!"
I'll be running 06-23 The Darkest Abduction for levels 7-11 when it is released on Wednesday. You can sign up on my spreadsheet and if there are more than six sign-ups I will roll a lottery on Wednesday to see who gets in.
Thanks everyone and good luck!

Would someone mind terribly signing me up for both?
My wife's Mac isn't liking the Google sheets today for some reason.
Please put Wulfren (Gunslinger 3) in for Out of Anarchy and Lars (Battle Herald 7) in for Darkest Abduction.
Thanks!

I can't edit it either, (PC and Windows).
Would like into The Darkest Abduction, (wondering if it's a follow up to The Darkest Vengeance).

Starting a Dragon's Demand Module. This is a bit longer than a normal scenario so keep that in mind please.

DM DoctorEvil |

Having played several games from this site, I hope to give back a little bit by offering a few scenarios to start, perhaps running two at at time.
The first is 01-33 Assault on the Kingdom of the Impossible (Tier 1-5) and will start as soon as the game fills.
A few weeks later, I'd like to start 01-35 The Voice in the Void (tier 1-7).
The sign up sheet for both games is posted at top.

@ TJ Wolfe, Valjoen_KC, Torondor, & Shalin: Done, done, done, and done. :)

If you are looking for someone to head to Ulstav, I think the spirits are directing me there. They got all excited when you mentioned Basia, I wonder what happened to get them all up in a tizzy. Now where did I put that bird?

Added, but I should point out both games have 13 players already registered.

DM DoctorEvil |

DM DoctorEvil, I'd like to sign up for the Voice of the Void scenario, but the sheet seems to be locked to editing. I have a few possible characters of level 2-4. Thanks!
I can't edit the sheet either. I am not sure if it's the way it was set up by EF on this page. Until it gets editable, I will take the list by post, and make the changes on my base form.
Once we get the technical issues worked out, it will there to add to.

Will the following check in below.
- Pathetic Wretch
- Steven Evil
- Shadow Khan
- Jon A
- Ginganinja
- Gerald

Thank you, sir!
No worries. This is one of the reasons I'm a bit reticent to use Sign Up sheets for games. On one hand, they do make it a bit easier, but it also excludes it seems a lot of people from being able to sign up.

EndlessForms |

Sorry, everyone! The link to my sheet at the top should work but the links in my post are read-only for some reason. Probably because I have been stuck on mobile this weekend and stupid apple doesn't like google sheets.

2 people marked this as a favorite. |

They actually just released a google app for ios that allows you to alter the spreadsheets. It is called Google Sheets I believe.

Cool. Will see if it lets you alter Google Drawing Maps with a touch screen.

I Downloaded and tested it out. Does in fact allow you to edit sheets, but doesn't seem to help with Drawings. :) and :(
But thanks for pointing it out. I wouldn't have noticed this at all.
