This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

I had more or less intended it to have an effect on when you replied to the other one. Which happened later. After I said that...

Dami, I actually think that you see a lot of shyness and neuroses present in the students. And a lot of posturing to try and hide it. A similar dynamic to what often takes place on playgrounds....

Although, yeah, there's some genre issues there...superheroes and anime characters are usually more on the brash side...at least some of the time.

Capt, hey eastern Europe has no monopoly on either folk tales or fey. Draw your sources more widely. :)
My favorites actually come from areas further east than you're thinking of or further west. Russia, Japan, and Ireland. Not that I'm above using stuff from the brothers Grimm (or ideally the older and more highly disturbing versions). But in spite of reading the non-disneyfied Grimm's fairy tales as a young child, I was raised with more of the Irish folk traditions, so the Germanic ones don't resonate as well with me. I was taught to be afraid of different things that go bump in the night. ;P

It was the Ireland fey I was thinking of, the To-atna, in particular, see my family hail from Ireland. Story's of the old country. Also Scotland and the slkee. Points is I did not just mean the grims but more Older tails of fey than then, merchandising wagon canny fluff Hollywood vomits up.

:)

I know I personally enjoy having Vakkler figuratively rip those guys a new one. Most of these "badasses" are pretty darn unimpressive in a school founded by an epic cardcaster, a magic space gunslinger, and a freakin' dragon.

It is a challenge to keep Vakkler's core personality present beneath it all, though. He goes between being the Snape and the Worf, depending on who he's talking to.

Note: Amber and Opel have been expelled from their last four schools, they fully expect to be thrown out of this one as well, this is kind of their dads last hope at getting them an education worth a darn, ripping them is fine, their used it, in fact your just being like all the other teachers they have meet. Being the man and giving them a hard time for having a good time and enjoying jokes.

Given my love of all things fey, this makes me happy. ^.^

Spoiler:
In case it has slipped your mind or you weren't aware, using the dresden files fey as inspiration for the fluff for this campaign setting, with some minor changes (cut down from three queens per court to one and a princess).

I totally meant to say this before, n I clearly got distracted n forgot,

But the interaction between Carl n Hermes, where Carl was laughing his ass off n Hermes was all confused was some great RP.

Tybalt in particular deserves a big heap of credit, as I can imagine playing a more or less utterly emotionless robot must be hella difficult. Moreso, because I get the feeling(could be wrong) that IRL, Tybs is anything but emotionless.

Well played sirs, well played!!

I'm kind of trying to figure out what you're saying. Somehow he's going to suck the energy out of the nanites? I'm just not sure how this even works. I understand the sucking up magic and ki....but given the nanite cloud in the school if he actually did this he'd be constantly creating a dead spot which would get a much more concerned reaction from the staff I think. I was sort of going on the assumption that he was neutral in regards to tech. At this point he seems only a tiny step away from being undead. Maybe I'm just not understanding correctly.

Not out of.

If it tried to touch him, the required kinetic energy of it trying to move towards him would be more then usual, as some of that energy Is negated.

He isn't sucking up energy, he's neutralizing it, to my understanding.

Basically, really weak force field.

That, and his powers + jhonny having his tech skrew up when exposed to my power even though that wasn't planned = I'm confused too.

Adon has caused problems for me as of late, because i can't seem to figure out exactly what to do...

Okay, let's iron this out. All inconsistencies can be explained by the fact that powers often behave in unpredictable ways when they first erupt or go through a major change and not all of those effects stay like that permanently. So don't worry so much about Johnny's stuff. It was a different style of tech anyways. What is it you want Adon's abilities to be able to do? What things should they cancel out and what uses do you have in mind for them?

Adon's ablitys-

One- cancel's magic and ki.
Two- acts a a sort of anti-ki. Less like negative energy though, more like a backwards version of ki, like antimatter is to matter.
Three- are unknown how exactly how adon manufactures this.
Four- can stop most energy types, kinetic, electric, heat, ect, with enough of this stuff diverted to stopping the action.
Example-
Shock from a power outlet would be nullified with a effort akin to his mage's disjunction touch.

It's hard to explain everything that rattles around in my head, but here's the simple bit, with more detailed descriptions to come.

idea for adon's power:

If you aren't lyn, stop peeking. Please.

Lyn, perhaps a improperly harnessed shard of destruction could, cause this, as it is simply mass destruction of magic and energy.
Just an idea being thrown out, may or may not be within what that does, i really don't know.

Never mind, it's probably not quite right.

Okay, well, we know also that whatever this is it consumes a lot of fuel...honestly your idea suggested under the spoiler wasn't bad since it gave something that tied these things together. But if you want to go a different direction that's okay too. As is I'm concerned that it's become too encompassing. I'm concerned that Adon's survival is becoming unsustainable....the material plane does not seem very friendly to him.

Honestly if there were any way to make it work I'd suggest reincarnation for Adon. Nala can even do it without killing him first. But getting a spell to work on him is a crapshoot at best.

Yeah, unless something changes this is looking like a tragedy in the making.

I was talking about the undead one without realizing it was undead despite the article calling out that were the spirits of kids who died. :/

This doesn't change the character at all though, so I'm still happy. :)

Seems i was right.
Adon is useless after all.
He's done nothin but negatively effect everyone, and now he's going to die.

....

So then, he finally starts making a friend, getting somewhere, understanding people...

And it's too late.

He never gets to accomplish anything, and he exists in no afterlife, but remains conscious, watching the world go by unaffected by his existence, with nothing to think on from his life, no real moment of significant memory, only there to meditate on the worthlessness of his life.

What do you know, I'm crying for the fist time in years... First time in about 3 years.

Alright.

I'm not sure if you mean for the character or you. :/

It's not to late to change things, but something has to shift about how his abilities work so that they're not killing him. If that doesn't work for you then....yeah, I think we're at the end of what anyone can do for him. Last thing I'll suggest is a genetic splice like what was done to Ephebe to make her part positive energy. But I'm afraid adding the positive energy would just kill him faster rather than saving him.

Female Kobold

Well, speaking neutrally (which is pretty easy to do when I don't know who Adon is), it does make a pretty tragic story. Not unlike a Homestuck character, Adon might end up doomed to die before his story is told. It's sad, and sad is one of my favorite emotions to evoke in a roleplay.

I'm not saying you have to be happy about it, but you could do a lot worse for deaths. Just try playing through Whispering Cairn. ;D

See, think of it like antimatter.

A creature made entirely of antimatter wouldn't notice that he is.
He can, and does run on this "anti-energy"... But the existence of other energy collides with it, and eventually, he's going to get to a point where production doesn't keep up with demand, and he starves himself, no matter how much he eats.

And me. Definitely me.

You play games to escape the **** that is reality.

And even here, death shows up when you least expect it.
Not to something planned, scripted, no.
To something that was always there, something that doomed you from the start, and no-one knew.
It seems reality has to remind you just how f***ed up it is.

Funny, because once i get sad, nothing can make me happy for weeks.

And every time i get sad, even after the weeks are over, the world seems a little bit darker, and more hopeless. Happiness becomes dulled.

Yeah, given those parameters, I don't think we can save him. I'm sorry.:(

I do have a soft spot for happy endings, but the times when it doesn't happen do add to the realism of the setting. Once they realize what's happening, they would make attempts, but those are long shots at best. Without changing the parameters...well, we're out of options.

I do know that it's very hard to deal with when you have a character that has a bad end. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
