Here are the rules I was supposed to try and use for the game!

To simulate an actual game of Bastard’s Fool, each player rolls dice, trying to get a score as close to 20 as possible without going over. At the beginning of the hand, each player pays an ante of 1 pp and secretly rolls a d20, representing her starting hand.

A round of betting ensues (minimum bet is 1 pp; maximum bet is a player’s entire stake, called “all in”). To represent the discard and draw, each player may then secretly roll another die of her
choice (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, or d20) to improve her score (the larger the die, the more cards drawn).

This is followed by another round of betting. A player can fold at any time instead of betting—in this case, the opposing player wins
the hand. If the total of both dice is 20 or less, that is the gambler’s score. If the total is over 20, the gambler’s score is only the highest number on a single die (representing a poor draw).

The highest score wins the hand. On a tie, no one wins. The pot remains on the table, and a new hand begins, with bets added to the
existing pot.

Participants may improve their position using expertise, insight, misdirection, or even legerdemain. A gambler can make one of the following checks each hand (all DC 15): Bluff, Profession (gambler), or Sense Motive. A successful check adds +1 to the gambler’s score, with an additional +1 for every 5 points over the DC (even if this pushes the gambler’s final score over 20).

A failed check reduces the gambler’s score by 1, with an additional –1 for every 5 points under the DC. The gambling PC can also make a DC 20 Sleight of Hand check to cheat and increase her score by 4 points, but failing this check means Tsadok notices the attempt.

The first failure costs the PC her stake for that hand. If the PC is caught cheating a second time, the game ends and the PC fails the entire test. Each time the PC wins a hand, she must a drink a
shot of rum. Each drink after the first requires a DC 10 Fortitude save (the DC increases by +1 for each additional drink).

The PC takes a –1 penalty on all skill checks for each failed saving throw. Once the PC has consumed a number of drinks equal to 1 plus double her Constitution modifier, she is sickened (taking an
additional –2 penalty on skill checks) for 1 hour for each drink beyond this maximum.

Tsadok drinks when he wins as well, but the alcohol seems to have almost no effect except to increase his toothy sneer.

What I really want to do if I can get away with it is cast Aristocrat's nightmare on him then let him take his money back. Pulling off a touch spell without anyone noticing would be pretty damned impossible though

Ashlei, for your Ironfang Invasion game, any chance you want a fifth that's not a melee specialist? I see Warpriest, Mesmerist, and Kineticist. I could build a Magus/Arcanist, or a character with disable device.

*Edit* - Getting ahead of myself here, but I read your gameplay thread and saw a discussion of a Riverwood Shrine. And I now want to build a Reliquarian Occultist who rescued all the relics from that place and is channeling magic through them. It would be an Int-based caster with Disable Device, which I think fills in some party gaps.

OK...I'm only working from the list Rhialla put together a few months ago. Do we have a total plunder count yet? We got 10 from the Sahuagin right? How much total plunder do we have?

I was thinking we should go ahead and divvy up some of the remaining plunder into gold as well so we can pay our sailors too to keep up morale.

@GM? Do we manage to sell everything at 100% for simplicity's sake? Or is there a loss %? 10%? Do you want us to roll Haggle checks or anything?

NOTE: I'm also converting ~5 points of plunder (out of the 10 I know about)for direct gold addition to be divided up among us. As I said, I'm unsure on our total plunder at the moment, but we need to be ready for the next part of the game. We could sacrifice more if we want.

OK, well assuming 100%, and selling Zul, THEN if we sell off 7 points of plunder, that's a grand total of 8612gp + 7sp each.

I then suggest we sell an additional 2 points of plunder to re-provision the ship and pay the crew well...suggesting they buy new weapons and equipment FIRST...before they waste the rest on booze and women!

That would leave us with at least 1 point of plunder in reserve for emergencies and trade as needed.

This is all assuming Neela keeps the slippers of spider climbing (or whomever that was who took them) and I keep the Feather Tokens and... the brass hand-mirror. Ashlei's not vain, but a good hand mirror could come in hand in the future for adventuring.

I just realized the Wasp Nest requires a 9th level caster...Can you still do that?

Yes. DC is 5 + Caster Level +5 for every missing component (in this case insect plague spell). So that's DC 5+9+5=19. Neela can Take 10 on Spellcraft for a 25.

Shark's Tooth Amulet sounds good too! I may need to start figuring out how many days this would take.

I never can manage to figure out how upgrading magic items works *lawls*

Is getting the Bane (human) considered a 2k investment or a 8k one?
Bane is considered a base price modifier +1 bonus.

Anywho

order of wealth expenditure - adding Human Bane to my pike.
(What else i get depends on the cost of the pike upgrade.)

3 masterwork silver spiked gauntlets given as rewards to worthy sailors. - 975 gold total for all three.

3 potions of cure moderate wounds - 900 gp

3 potions of Blur - 900 gp

3 potions of Shield of faith +3 (CL 6th)- 900 gp

Belt of Giants Strength - 4k (oh less if Neela can manage)

The last one may not be possible either via the price of the weapon enchant (if able) or if neela's too overloaded with everyone elses order. and yeah they get first dibs :P Rank may have its priviledges but a smart captain makes sure his own is taken care of first. :)

Sorry it took so long, was forced into a promotion at work, and adjusting to the new schedule and responsibilities has taken some adjusting too.
