We may need to go back to shore to buy some potions or a wand or something. BTW. Most of my abilities are absolutely nothing underwater.

I can use my handy underwater crossbow, but that's it unless I can get into melee. I can't throw anything or use my fire magic easily.

Ashlei hates swimming too...so...yeah.

But you can't drink a potion underwater without a special device (a bladder or sponge I think?). Or the Air Bubble spell.

NOTE: One of the most powerful underwater combat spells when fighting creatures from above water? Dispel Magic. Nasty.

BTW...there are rules for deep water actions. They are not good/easy to mitigate if I remember correctly. Even with magic, they are tough on surface dwellers.

You drink the potion before you go into the water. An extra round isn't going to make a huge difference with a duration of 10 hours.

If you want an extra in case of dispel, a potion sponge costs 2 gp.

Pressure rules start to apply if you go more than 100 feet down (see Aquatic Adventures), I think - my copy is at home so I can't reference it directly at the moment.

Fire: Nonmagical fire (including alchemist’s fire) does not burn underwater. Spells or spell-like effects with the fire descriptor are ineffective underwater unless the caster makes a caster level check (DC 20 + spell level). If the check succeeds, the spell creates a bubble of steam instead of its usual fiery effect, but otherwise the spell works as described. A supernatural fire effect is ineffective underwater unless its description states otherwise. The surface of a body of water blocks line of effect for any fire spell. If the caster has made the caster level check to make the fire spell usable underwater, the surface still blocks the spell’s line of effect.

Ok, give me a list of who is going into the water, and what spells or magic items they are using to breath and swim please.

If you're finding this tough you should try Ruins of Azlant. Just finishing it now with my live group and it's a good AP. The first two book don't take you into the water too much, but after that you better have water breathing and a swim speed or you're dead meat!

Ok I'll spend the cash for material cost to scribe four more scrolls of ride the waves. 1,330 gp and one day of work total. Then I cast one on myself and use the scrolls for everyone else.

Rhialla and Ashlei can help with backup spells in case our spells get dispelled while we're under.

Also, is our captain still here?

So ride the waves for Percy, Ashlei, Herzag and Cass. I'm all good underwater. Swim speed 60, which I can bump up to 80 with Tidal Swiftness, breathe move as normal, piercing weapon and a stinger when underwater.

Remember! Any shark that's fascinated will do nothing as long as I concentrate on the spell unless you attack it. So once you've taken out the two that didn't get fascinated, the rest of the sharks are out of the fight and you can concentrate on the mer-shark-man.

DESCRIPTION
Crudely cut amethysts and a single engraved skull decorate the band of this thick iron ring. The ring grants its wearer a +5 competence bonus on Appraise checks to determine the most valuable item in a treasure hoard and a +5 competence bonus on Heal checks to ascertain details of a dead creature’s demise.

Once per day as a standard action, the wearer can touch the ring to a corpse or piece of a corpse to learn the dead creature’s name, gender, race, and profession or role, as well as the manner of the creature’s death. The wearer also becomes aware of the location of other pieces of the corpse if they’re within 1,200 feet.

If the body part comes from a creature that’s still alive or undead, the wearer gains no information. The ring of the iron skull must be worn for 24 hours before it starts to function for the wearer.
