The Weapon Masters Handbook was very good to throwers. Very, very good.

Should be glad the guy isn't any higher. You can make really ridiculous throwers now (fighters only though really).
Not to be intrusive, but I'm reasonably sure I could still mop the floor with you guys using the remaining bad guys, and I'm offering you an out. Likely I made this encounter too hard.

Technically they were not superior fighters. They used the NPC array and had meh equipment. Only the boss was a big threat, but you were ignoring him.

Too often I have seen a party go after the boss first only to get surrounded by the lackeys.

Yup. It's about reducing the number of threats before concentrating fire on the big guy. Six guys and a half-dead boss are way more dangerous than 3 guys and a full-health boss.

hey buzz, i want your thoughts, we are restarting an in person shattered star and I have a thrower that hs an undecided feat, currently he kind-of-switch hits between TWF and actually throwing, and now has the dagger of doubling so he never runs out. Here are his feats and I have one to play with. thoughts?

Rapid Shot
Precise Shot
Throw Anything (this could be repainted, but it is really a flavor feat so it has to stay for th campain)
and something yet to be selected (this could be precise, which seems like the obvious choice, but it hasn't come up yet as a real issue, eventually it will be taken, or maybe distance thrower, or even just WF dagger, or something from the new book that i am not thinking about)
What level are you?
But regardless, precise shot is the best bet IMO. It is a necessity if you are running a ranged attacked. Sileth can attest to that.

You shouldn't be 4th level, you should be gestalt 3rd level with one side being rogue.
