Kronug the Kellid

I'm about to post so pray with me because next round Kronug goes down again.
Rags McRory
This is like the three stooges....
or it will be after a couple more of us die.

I want to cry. F@$& you RNG!
On a completely unrelated note, do you guys think a melee Doom Marine based character would be a Fighter or an Oath of Vengeance Paladin?
This is like the three stooges.
More like Weekend at Bernie's which in Spain is called 'Este muerto esta muy vivo' ('This dead guy is pretty alive' for non taco speakers)

Rags McRory
I still have enough faith that I used my escape spell to help Sileth get a sneak attack shot.
Ulthar the Warped One
First, I vote Fighter, and I love that someone besides me refers to the Spanish language as Taco. Second: Why are all of the people who can't be in melee still in one place? Not just one place, but stopping Ulthar from stepping back. You know he can't attack her with a reach weapon if she gets closer right?
Rags McRory
Mostly it's because we keep expecting this to be the round that you stop her.
Sadly, you continue to disappoint.
This is what passes for a motivational speech in raccoon land.
Kronug the Kellid

Don't expect a half barbarian to do a barbarian job. Not when the barbarian couldn't.
Man, did we f~*& up royally. We deserve an award or something, does exist something like the Golden Middle-Finger for RPG Stupidity?
Because if it does exist, we just won it.
Ulthar the Warped One
Total Party Kongratulations?.
Mostly it's because we keep expecting this to be the round that you stop her.
Sadly, you continue to disappoint.
This is what passes for a motivational speech in raccoon land.
At least Ulthar did something to her. I've been hoping Rags would contribute, but so far all he's done is whiff a spell and giggle like an elf.
My god. Is this how it ends? Childish insults? I want to live with childish insults.
Sileth
This might not be the end.....
I'm waiting to see if by some miracle this prone, dex denied tank has a touch AC of 12 or worse. If so Sileth just damaged McTanksAlot for 40hp.
If not......We might have to run while getting childishly insulted
Ulthar the Warped One
Hey, Phalanx Fighter, how ya doin'? You too Enlarge Person, with your 35' reach granting ways.
Oh, and a 1d6 of sneak attack too I guess, you can ride in the back.
Edit: See? I knew We'd be fine.
Rags McRory
One thing is obvious. We don't get much mileage out of the rogue side of the gestalt in this party.
Evasion and good reflex saves helped us out some in the caves, but sneak attacks on the offensive side are few and far between.
Blindness, Invisibility, Summoned Monsters, are a few of the things I can think of that could help.
The witch spell list isn't much geared towards buffing anyone.
Kronug the Kellid

Okay, Kronug survived by a combination of DM Ex Machina, Sileth going nova and sheer dumb luck.
Another Kronug day in a Kronug world.
Will boost him up to 7 before going to sleep.
Ulthar the Warped One
Another obvious thing. Us spellcasters rule.
Edit: Gang Up? That sounds like something Some one with 13 int and combat expertise would use.
Kronug the Kellid
|
A cursory glance at stats reveals that nobody outside of the int casters has the int to qualify for it.
Though the brawler can cheat it.
If the brawler's Intelligence score is less than 13, it counts as 13 for the purpose of meeting the prerequisites of combat feats.
Hey, I have 12 Int which for a Barbarian is actually high. Plus I had to decide between being stupid but stupidly handsome or a nerd.
Guess what? Look at these biceps!
Rags McRory
I thought Dirty Fighting would help, but it's only a substitute pre-req for the maneuver feats.
Ulthar the Warped One
So, Ulthar was born half barbarian and mocked during recess by the mage kids until he punched them in the face. As such I can only pick Ironskin, or Mirror Image for new spells. Which sounds better? Defensively, anyway.
Ironskin isn't quite "free misses" like Mirror Image, but it should last longer since there's a hard limit on Mirror image. I would have ignored both for Blood Armor but then I actually read it.
Kronug the Kellid
|
Do you mean better from an objective optimization point or Kronug's better?
Because if the latter with one spell you get to yell "I'M TOUGHER THAN STEEL B&&!~ES, COME AT ME!" and the other makes you look like a wizard (i.e. a dork)
This opinion comes from the barbarian who has just decided "F@$% Blind-Fight" and will pick Improved Sunder so next time someone tries to magic us out of our Freedom of Sight I get to be angry and smash the fabric of reality until I can see again.
Ulthar the Warped One
Both if you like. Course, I'm already considering Force Sword really strongly for my other spot. Is it good? No. Is it cool as f!@@? What a terrible question.
drbuzzard
Yes, sorry, forgot I was addressing Kronug, let me rephrase that.
Noqual make shiny, hard sword. Kornug like.
Noqual also make shiny hard armor, protect Kronug good.
One minor change I would make in the description is where it lists the types of bonuses on things, switch them to 'material' because what they use is bloody stupid and makes the stuff offer very little for what trouble it is.
Kronug the Kellid
|
I see. A noqual breastplate would mean having decent armor when I am not angry, charging, attacking or all of above.
A noqual falcata would mean bling bling and being flashy.
Who wants to take a wild guess about what will Kronug want?
Ulthar the Warped One
Friendship?
Went with Mirror Image on the grounds that I want to see what the hub bub is about. And Ironskin's shelf life due to APB. Spider Climb also looked nice enough to grab for when the Wall Climber ninja trick inevitably lets me down. That or touch of idiocy.
Rags McRory
Reincarnation?
Rags McRory
Let's just not let it happen again.
It was a bad dream sequence in the story.
Rags McRory
@Buzzard: Was that 5 potions of Cure Moderate?
I am adding a potion of remove paralysis and a potion of cure moderate to my character sheet
I am also adding the bestiary (I figure I've got the best Know(Dungeoneering))
These need to be claimed:
Remaining Potions:
2 lesser restoration
2 remove paralysis
4 cure moderate wounds
1 neutralize poison
Updated Rags to 7th: Torn between Spirit Talker, Accursed Hex, and Twist Away as a 7th level feat. Leaning towards Spirit Talker for flexibility and access to hexes I wouldn't otherwise have.
I may change that, because my Fort save is a little concerning.

Daylight ain't gonna cast itself when the drow cover us in darkness.....
Rags McRory
Most of 'em can't even see in regular darkness.
I don't know if deeper darkness will ever happen again, but the TPK fest we just left would have been completely ridiculous if the drow in the back ranks had just started dropping their SLA darkness on the fight.
I guess it would be reasonable to exchange some of that fancy star metal for a bunch of bottles of oil of daylight.
