Move to E16.

Warlord's Strike vs. S4 1d20+8=20, Damage 2d10+5=17

If it's a hit every ally gain +3 bonus to damage rolls vs. S4.

With a mighty blow, Commander Caine demonstrates his leadership skills. Watching him expose S4's weaker points will enable you all to damage the creature more effectively.

Leo shifts to E-14 and employing divine strength he bestows another valiant strike on the webspinner rolling a 15+8+2 for 25 to hit doing 6+4+3 for 13pts of damage

Fearing for Brujo, Leo moves to help hoping to draw off their foes' attention even as Leo calls upon his faith to aid him in this perilous task...

Leo's valour is rewarded by another burst of injuring clicking from the webspinner. The creature shifts backwards and directs a blast of sticky web at the paladin, restraining him, before stabbing at him with its longspear. Its aim is poor however, and the blow goes wide.

Web net v Leo (Ref). On hit target is restrained (save ends) (1d20 9=20). Hits. Leo is restrained, granting combat advantage.

Responding to the clicks of their ettercap masters, the remaining spiders leap again. S3 bounces obscenely over Snaggletooth's head and bites at the kobold from behind. The attack just misses, but Snaggletooth is all too aware of how lucky he is as the shadow of the spider's mandibles pass over him.

S4 flings webbing to the ceiling and swings over Fairwind's head before attacking the resolute half-elf. The spiders seem to be losing some of their vim, as this attack also misses. Spectacularly. It rolled a 1.

"EIGHTLEGS!! YOU NOT HURT MY FRIENDS! YOU FIGHT ME!" Snaggletooth shouts as he attacks the spider that missed him. He smiles for the first time in this fight, 'cause he finally has the advantage.
Combat Advantage, that is. It may very well be the last thing he does. Dazing Strike on S3 (d20+10 vs AC,23, if hit, 4+3+12+3, 22hp damage and S3 is dazed until the end of my next turn), still at 4hp.

A long agonised hiss comes from S3 as Snaggletooth plunges his shortsword through the mass of legs to deliver a devastating blow. Against all likelihood, the creature stays on its feet, but is clearly dazed by the ferocity of the attack.

The moon elf shakes his head, "The shifter is too far away for me to switch with"

Male Kobold Rogue 6

dazed status means anybody gets CA against S3. let's get rid of as many of these as possible.

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

Minor - HQ on S3. Minor - turn dynamic longsword into short sword. Standard - Twin Strike - 1st attack longsword 1d20+10 = 19 vs AC - 1d8 damage = 4 damage. 2nd attack dynamic shortsword 1d20+12 = 31 vs AC 1d6+2 damage = 8 damage. HQ damage = 2. Sneak Attack damage = 8. TOTAL DAMAGE (if both attacks hit) = 22 damage. 18 damage if only the second attack hits.

Fairwind sees the spider struggling and with a thought her magical blade becomes a stabbing sword and it bites deep into the arachnid!

Fairwind's first blow just misses a vital spot, but her second brings all the results she might have wished. S3 falls to the ground, completely unable to withstand the surgical precision of the half-elf's death stroke.

Ettercaps

Greenflame blade on E1 1d20+8=25; Damage 1d8+5=13 cold/fire damage, E2 and W both take 2 fire damage.

Brujo falls back carefully from the ettercaps. As he does he and Cronin wink out of existence and reappear in each others place.

Shift to F15. Minor action dimensional warp with Cronin; Cronin to F15, Brujo to F18

E1 falls before the arcane power of Brujo's blade.

... however, you can't shift into difficult terrain Brujo. Would you like to revise the rest of your actions?

Would swapping places with Leo be better for Brujo?

A normal step back is fine, but exposes you to two OAs. E3 and W. The Webspinner is using a longspear with reach 2.

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

Only if it has threatening reach. That's the only way reach weapons can make OAs beyound adjacent squares.

Geleri Fairwind wrote:

Fair enough. OA from E3 only then, if that's what you want to do.

Use dimensional warp to change places with Leo. Didn't think teleporting cause OAs

Teleporting doesn't cause OAs. Moving the one space into difficult terrain to get within three of Cronin does.

M Goliath Cleric 14 / Storm Speaker / Druid

Cronin invokes Selune's blessing to help heal the swordmage (surge + 9hp) before sending a burst of sacred flame at the ettercap threatening Snaggletooth, but missing. He does, however, finally break free of the goo holding him in place. 14 on save

With a swift inrush of air, Leo and Brujo swap places, as Cronin finally frees himself from the web of spider thread.

The ettercaps simply continue hacking at their nearest foes. E2 hops down from the boxes and smacks his greataxe into the swordmage.
E2 v Brujo (1d20 9=26, 1d12 5=6). 6hp damage to Brujo.

E3 goes after the suddenly appearing paladin, and brutally smashes past his defences.
E3 v Leo (1d20 9=27, 1d12 5=8). 8hp damage to Leo.

E5 hefts its weapon and launches an attack on Fairwind. Try as she will, the half-elf can't avoid the blow.
E5 v Fairwind (1d20 9=19, 1d12 5=12). 12hp damage to Fairwind. Please confirm your status.

The trio of successful attacks raises the tempo of the mind-searing clicking.

Puts me at 25hp. And the ettercaps attack puts me at 19.

Not that I am interested in dying, but what happened with e4? did he miss?

Oops. I'm so sorry. I rolled for him, and somehow forgot to post it, possibly because neither you nor he moved. And no, he didn't miss.

E4 takes a hard swing at the pestilential kobold and strikes hard.
E4 v Snaggletooth (1d20 9=17, 1d12 5=14). 14hp to Snaggletooth. I make that 10hp as your current total.

Male Kobold Rogue 6

that's negative 10 hp.

Attack vs. S4 1d20+10=22, Damage 1d10+5=11

Did I notice Snaggletooth fall?

You certainly did, Commander. A comrade is down.

With a mighty swing of his greatsword, Commander Caine bloodies S4. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Snaggletooth slump to the floor as the ettercap hacks devastatingly into his small body.

Has Snaggletooth used his Second Wind?

Don't think so, but he can confirm.

Female Genasi Firesoul Wizard 7

I don't know how well I'll be able to get on-line and involved for awhile. I've been having problems with my internet connectivity, and the touchpad on my laptop has stopped working about half the time, so even when I can get on-line it's hit or miss on whether I can actually do anything. Please feel free to go on without me if you need to.

Ugh. No fun for you at all. Don't worry about Perigia, I'll run her until you can get back into regular play again. Just give me a heads up when you're back in circulation. Are you up to date with HP/surges and such?

Rolled a 2 for the save so still restrained will employ Second Wind as Leo is currently bloodied by that last attack so that should counter the combat advantage for this round is Snaggletooth at negative bloodied value? If not can I use Leo's minor action to employ divine mettle on him to grant Leo's Charisma modifier (+3) as a bonus to his first death save?

Unable to burst free of the webspinner's restraints Leo tries to call upon his faith and tries to fight defensively so he can survive long enough to pull free of the webbing even as Caine's cry almost makes him blanch.

Snaggletooth is at -10 and can use all the help he can get. I don't know what Cronin has left in the healing locker. Snaggle hasn't used his second wind yet though, so emergency CPR can be done.

Even as he struggles to free himself, Leo seeks for ways to aid his comrades.

The webspinner lunges at Brujo with its spear, just easing past his lithe foe.
Longspear v Brujo (1d20 10=21, 1d10 3=11). 11hp damage to Brujo.

S4 stays where it is and at the command of its ettercap master, trys to inject more venom into Commander Caine. The creature pulls back frustrated, as the warlord just manages to dodge the bite.

MAP

Snaggletooth is up - death save please, using Leo's +3 if he's happy with that.

Male Kobold Rogue 6

actually, I did use my second wind. when I pulled off the action point blitz a couple of rounds earlier. I used my action point to use my second wind. fat lot of good it did, too. death saving throw (d20, 11)

Snaggletooth looks pathetically small huddled on the ground, but it seems his constitution is stronger than anyone imagines.

Ah. No emergency CPR then. I've lost track of who has used which healing powers, but I hope someone's got something left up their sleeves.

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

Cut and Run vs S4. 21 vs AC - 9 damage; 13 vs AC fergit it. Shift to G17.

Fairwind slashes at the spider and ducks away to defend Snaggletooth.

Sorry, Fairwind. You can't shift. You're still in difficult terrain. Unless you've got something that lets you shift more than one square that is. Let me know if you're moving anyway and I'll update the map.

Perigia concentrates and fires balls of magical force towards the webspinner. The beast flinches and the blows hit, but do less harm than the mage hoped. She curses quietly under her breath and watches for her next opportunity.

Brujo - go ahead and post unless you think Fairwind's actions will make a huge difference to you.

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

My power allows me to shift two squares. Now whether this will allow me to shift 1 square in difficult terrain or not, one would need to consult the PHB.

Just checked. If you can shift two squares in normal terrain, you can shift one square in difficult terrain.

Aegis of shielding on E3.

A layer of ice forms on the moon elfs blade as he swings at the ettercap.

Chilling blow on E2, 1d20+8=21; Damage 1d8+5=12 cold damge, and E2 takes 2 points cold damage each time it attacks until the start of your next turn.

Fairwind's longsword brings further wounds to S4. I'll leave your position unchanged until you decide - sorry to mess you about, I didn't read the power properly in the first place.

Brujo's blade again flares with arcane power as he slashes at E2 and the wound freezes over, inflicting additional agony on the ettercap. At the same time, he defies E3 to attack any other of his companions. E2 is bloodied.

MAP

Cronin is up - note that Snaggle has already used his second wind.
