            Confrontin' Devlin
** spoiler omitted **
Fairwind
"Since we're being civil, I'm for telling you this job didn't turn out as advertised."
Devlin leans on his halberd, apparently confident that the worst Fairwind can do at this point is ride over him.
"See, I'm a simple man. I like money, I'm good at my job. Two often go together. You're a mouthy gal, but you've got sense. No point taking me back with you. What's going to happen then? Your eager holy pals and soldier boys - they've got no sense. I'll be dead and I don't aim to be that any time soon. So, let's do it this way. You let me go. I don't stab up that horse of yours - noticing you can't ride so well, see - and who knows? Could be one day you'll have enough coin to pay me and we'll be working the same side."
He's very convincing. Diplomacy check please.

"Nice and easy does it, since we're such good friends and all, we can have a nice stroll. Let's head back." She indicates that he is to walk ahead with her sword at his back.

"Easy does it gal. Got me some sore spots I'm not wanting invaded."
Reckon we're out of spoiler world now, triumphant return from Fairwind.
Fairwind, the horse and the disreputable, yet still somehow rakish figure of Devlin come back into view. He's walking in front of her and she's leading the horse with one hand and prodding her prisoner with her longsword with the other.

She motions to Brujo, "Well, you got anything you want to be askin' our good buddy Devlin here?"

"I'm sorry about your brother" Gin says sorrowfully as he ties Harrak.
After that gin relaxs on the grass. [oos] During the short rest I'll spent a healing surge bringing me up 35hp.
As he lays on the grass he notices Fairwind, Devlin in tow.
She motions to Brujo, "Well, you got anything you want to be askin' our good buddy Devlin here?"
"Not right now", He casts a tired look at her.

Harrak allows himself to be bound. Since discovering the death of his brother nothing seems to affect him. Brujo's sympathetic words penetrate though and he exchanges a glance with him before sinking back into glazed silence. Brujo finds nothing apart from the dagger. A matching pair to Farrak's.
Devlin nods knowingly. "Mighty close those two."

You are taking a short rest, which restores your encounter powers. Please can you all update your profiles, noting current HP and amending your available healing surges.
Harrak and Devlin are both bound (I'm assuming).
The campfire you lit only a few minutes ago flares, allowing you to see all too clearly the carnage you have wrought. Allan, Farrak and the hound lie where they fell. While Farrak seems oddly peaceful, Allan's parting expression is a grimace of astonishment. The hound smells no better in death than it did in unlife. Perigia's horse snorts uneasily as it scents the dead beast.
As you catch your breath and clean your weapons, you see that the rain is easing. Travelling won't be comfortable, but at least you will be able to see where you are going now.

Prisoners. Can we torture them by making them listen to us sing?
Spending another healing surge to raise HP to 32.
Leo turns to look at Commander Caine.
"Perhaps once we can divulge how far we can trust them we can decide on how much we can risk dealing with them, torture however is better left for far more precarious circumstances," he suggests.Catching the look from some of the other.
"Okay I was willing to kill him, but as I said I do listen to reason and some things that need to be understood I deliberately made clear with my actions so I'd know where you stand on the matter," Leo shrugs.
Looking over at Fairwind and the approaching Devlin.
"Curious, I wonder where your other friend went?" he whispers under his breath not enough for Devlin to hear but for anyone else in the party close enough to notice Leo has now glanced over to where the Dark Eyed One disappeared.

"We shouldn't leave them like this. The least we can do is bury them." Brujo looks at the others. "No one deserves to be laid out like this."
How long would it take to digs holes?
"Better burn the hounds remains though, just to be safe," Leo nods towards the undead dog.

"Seems right homely now, doesn't it? Soldier boy's singing is warming my heart. Could be singing duets in a hour or so."
Overhearing Leo, he nods. "Burn the pooch. Don't want it coming back to bite us. We're all friendly here and ain't that grand."
Harrak stares coldly at Devlin and stays close to Brujo.

Cronin
I think that would work just fine for me. It died on -5 and had a Con score of 16, so I'm ruling that if you sluice it with a further 6 radiant, there is no way it can rise (6hp because it's vulnerable 5 to radiant).

"Would Chryzylyx mind if we used her fire to burn the remains I mean use one of the embers to burn the dog's body?" Leo asks.
"Let Selune deal with this one," Cronin answers.
With that, he brandishes his medallion and a narrow beam of moonlight blasts the hound's remains, incinerating them.

"Would Chryz mind if we used her fire to burn the remains I mean use one of the embers to burn the dog's body?" Leo asks.
On the nail Leo - thanks for sorting that.
Chryzylyz nods silent assent to the plan to use the fire.
Devlin hums under his breath.
"I've got to break free.
God knows, God knows I want to break free."
Catching Commander Caine's eye he shrugs disarmingly "Just expressing my inner turmoil. You can trust me. I'm dishonest, but I'm not suicidal. Mouthy gal knows that."
Cronin's divine flame incinerates the hound completely. It will rise no more.

He only speaks once. "We have never been parted."
Once the work of digging is complete, Harrak goes back to his brother and carefully folds the dead hands over his chest.

Diplomacy check rolled an 11+10 for a total of 21 attempting to defuse the situation in case Harrak is intent on a suicidal assault which might allow Devlin to take advantage of the situation

He turns pick up his brother's body.
"No offence but why not say he goes where you go at least then you would have saved a little time with the grave digging, so were they always like this?" Leo asks Devlin moving the shovel he was using to help dig the hole over his shoulder in case either of the two are about to start another fight although Leo suspects Harrak has other plans.

Devlin watches proceedings with a quizzical eye.
"You planning to stop him? Mind, I can't say what his intentions are, but I'm thinking he's wanting to join his brother sooner rather than later. Now - I'm not saying he's wrong, but looks like a waste of talent to me. Just so you know. Friendly like."

Fairwind rolls her eyes, "Preacher-man, I reckon you be wantin' to take that knife offa him. He's liable to be sendin' himself to meet Kelemvor pretty darn quick." she says to Leo, "Unless you ain't got a problem with suicide."
"Its does seem a waste after all we might have to release them into someone else's custody and he (gestures at Devlin) might even have an arrangement to be released whose to say he can't arrange for your brother to be raised after all why do you think he's so calm about all of this?" Leo explains

Devlin shakes his head. "Nah. You've got that wrong. Got no truck with undead myself. That hound stank. It was a loan from my employers. What you're not seeing is that I'm a practical man. I like money, I go to whoever pays me best..." He watches Harrak's movements.

"I am sorry for your brothers passing, and I know nothing I can do or say can right this...But would your brother really want you to give up your own life?"
