I think from Europe my phone rates will be kinda steep ;) But have a nice and safe trip man.

Zeriax |

Was taking a look at some of the info you dropped regarding PaizoCon - man, that must have been sweet. And the pool did not seem bad at all either :D

Zeriax |

GM-JC, will the potion of random improvement go on the Excel list for the loot available?
Sorry to ask this again, we will be able to purchase the items with the cost detailed under the "Value" column correct?

Zeriax |

Dang expensive that pot :D

Combat & Dungeon crawling is over, for now...but everyone still needs to be on top of posting times, and should be posting each posting period. I would prefer that everyone do deeper, creative posts, but even just a short one can be beneficial to know how your character is reacting to what is going on.
This is officially downtime. You will have four posting days to conduct business in town, improve relations with NPCs, etc.
Those four days are...
Thursday, July 11
Friday, July 12
Thursday, July 18
Friday, July 19
(I am out of town Mon-Wed)
Wednesday, July 17th is the deadline to get me your purchases, level up decisions, etc. I still don't have many of your Paizo Character numbers that you'd like to apply this level sheet to. Make sure you send that to me as well. Thank you.

For those of you interested in PFS play, check out the link below. I'll be running some games including the retirement scenarios for Shadow and Lantern Lodge. These will be done online with Skype and Maptools, so some of you may be interested.

I will put something out about missing posts and such...
Short posts are great. I would MUCH rather have a short post that took you five minutes (or less) than no post at all. I would MUCH rather have a short post every posting period that took you a couple of minutes each rather than a huge mega post that took half an hour. Frequency trumps quantity here.
Shorter, more frequent posts also help those who are busy themselves, as they may freak out if they have 5 minutes to read and post, but come back to a wall of text (Something I'm guilty of sometimes...but needed to move the plot occasionally).
So, if you're busy, which I understand, at least squeeze off a short post. Seriously, most of you should be taking about 3 minutes per post on the average, with the occasional longer one that takes 6.
With that being said, I'll be posting later this morning as I get time. A bit backed up and there's a lot to read through, I see :)

![]() |

Wow! Not a single post in a couple of days! Everyone must be busy. Maybe we all needed a pbp break? If not, feel free to post...that way, if I *do* have the ability to, I have something to respond to :)
The time in the bar is pretty much over. Consider what your character would do over the next few days while resting and recovering. If you have questions about the town that we haven't covered in earlier postings, feel free to ask.

Zeriax |

Actually yeah. Been terribly busy during the weekend - family time and all :D
Kids vacation has started and I have decided to take them under my wing on summer vacations for a change, instead of other booked activities with their schools, etc - Dad time ;)
Will keep the posting up though.

Zeriax |

Mine has been sent already, a long time ago ;)

Zeriax |

I've got the feeling Zeriax is only buying silvered arrows :D
I need to take a look at something I read about, called vest of armor? Supposedly the monk can use them?

Zeriax |

Hmmmm, in that case they probably don't even stack, and Zeriax already has some sweet bracers.

So, I got some pretty devastating news recently. My boss whom I've worked for four years was let go. I'm a bit heartbroken, but as far as this game goes, there's a larger concern. With a new boss quickly coming in, but new to the company, a lot of responsibilities that my old boss handled will quickly fall to my plate. That means that my free time at work, as well as my ability to get home on time, will be seriously compromised.
Until further notice, the game will have remain suspended....perhaps indefinitely. I really have enjoyed these two games I run immensely, but I see no other choice at the moment. I will endeavor to keep you all updated via the discussion forum.
If I do not get a chance to resume this campaign and/or run with you all in the future, I want to say, it has been an absolute blast. Thank you for the honor and pleasure.
Phil

This is as unexpected as it is BAD.... This has been my PbP of reference for some time now, and in many ways GM-JCServant my GM of reference also, along with another 2 maybe on these boards.
It has been a great experience, but it is very sad to see this one vanishing. I have enjoyed the way the story was addressed, and the players that went along for the experience, to the extent that any of them being in any other game would be reason enough for me wanting to join in.
I hope everything turns out for the best GM-JC, and if ever you plan on ressuscitating any of your games, please count me in. Thank you for all your commitment to make this one work out fine and smooth.
I would love to join in on any of your ongoing games, but I really am not sure if I can work out the schedules for it, being across the Atlantic and all...
Before the group disbands, I am going to shamelessly throw my intention of running PFS here on the boards (apologies GM-JC) - I am really not being able to get my monthly dose of Pathfinder around my region, so the fact that my main PbP games are pausing would mean this idea is born again, and my will to do it rears its ugly head for another try.
I am not a very experienced GM, so there will probably be some bumps along the way, but I honestly believe we can deal with them without any stress whatsoever - the pace will not be nearly as GM-JCs games, but I do intend to go forward with the attempt at running it - if you guys are interested let me know, since you are part of the people that have prio in my book.
And by the way GM-JC, even though I hear you are a snob (:D) who does not play and only GMs, you are invited to participate also - your input would be most welcome as a player for a change ;)

![]() |

Hmmmm...I'm not really sure I declared this dead, just yet....just suspended until I can, at least get a handle on what's going on at work. I do suspect strongly that I will not have the time for this, but do not write it off just yet. Give it a couple of weeks, and I will update you all right here.
I have thought about doing a once per day deal, but that would turn this into a five year deal by my calculations, and that's not a solution that appeals to me.

Was just jesting about a post of yours in your blog? :D
From my part, the PbPs with you GM-JC, are not written off at all - I am here, and waiting for revival.

Hey everyone, GM-JC is still not sure he has everyone's PFS numbers and character names, so could you post them on here for him. I am anxious to get my chronicle sheet before my PFS character gets to high of a level to use it. Thanks!

I'm also considering doing an 'unofficial' PFS or something like that...essentially, players who run with me would be playing PFS characters with some modified campaign rules. The idea would be that you would be able to play with your character(s) in my Pbp or Sunday games I run. It wouldn't be official PFS...but it would free us of many of the constraints and still allow us to play the one shot scenarios.
In fact, one of the things I've always wanted to do was to play them through in order to experience more of the backstory. We usually don't DO that since we often have issues with not having a lot of higher level characters. An interesting through with my modified PFS rules would be that every new players starts off with a level 1 character, and a level 7, slow XP character. That would essentially cover ALL tiers of play without having to resort to using pregens often at all (people really do not like having to play pregens if it can be avoided.)
Anyway, I'll keep you all posted. Still very, very busy with the new changes at my job.

Zeriax |

That is something that has always wracked my brain, and I even posted about it here on the Paizo forums - I really would like to have my players in PFS to experience that same exact backstory, and offer a feel of continuity and world consistency, though it is not easy with sanctioned PFS.
What we are talking about here is playing the PFS scenarios without credit, but allowing it to flow somewhat like a campaign correct? I like the idea, and would most likely be willing to give it a try.
Good to see that you are still around GM-JC ;)
Stand fast, there are always crazy peaks like that - things will eventually smooth out, I am sure.
Going back to our PbP's would be great, if and when you have the opportunity.
On a different note, the chronicle credit needs to be applied only to characters level 3 or above, correct?

![]() |

Yeah. PFS will never feel like a traditional campaign or AP, but it does have overarching plots, particularly from season to season, and even within certain scenarios. Being a completionist myself, I would love to experience them in order, or, at least, experience season 1 before moving on to season 2, etc.
The challenge is always the level scales, and how much that jumps from scenario to scenario. Allowing players to start off with a level 1 and level 7 at half speed solves at least 90% of that right off. Of course, that's a hard dive into houserule territory, but y'all know how much I just LOVE my houserules :D
If we play 'outside the box' like that, it allows me to re-evaluate and change/build on some of the other PFS campaign rules. And that might make some people on the forums cranky...but since we are not doing it for OFFICIAL PFS credit, they can go bugger off :P
Anyway, I'm just in pondering mode at the moment. The new module thing they are doing also interests me. So much time and so little to do! Oh, wait, reverse that!
