Zeriax |

Ye, I was under the impression we had some sort of discount :D

Zeriax |

That puts the wand cost at 562.5, meaning 281.25 for each one of us Emrys.
By the way... Zeriax at level 3 will be melting faces like there is no tomorrow - just wanted to give everyone a heads up, mainly GM-JC - it is only fair, and I hate to make grown GMs cry :D

![]() |

Hah! Don't tell me. Tell the bad guys. I'm just a spectator! :P
I hope you guys do. Last night, in our Pathfinder Society group, we had a TPKO (Total Party Knock Out). Actually, 3 of the 4 players died...and only one survived by running away. They were all taken out by one sorcerer and his secret weapon...my really, really nasty rolls. As Brenton (who plays with me weekly in Skype in a group) can tell you, I can roll some really mean dice. I'm infamous for critting several times in a row. In this case I was rolling 32 hp fireballs (out of a max of 36) and the players were failing saves left and right.
So watch what you say about melting faces. I'd hate for y'all to run into one, lonely, solitary fire sorcerer :P

Zeriax |

Hmmmmm, nope. Zeriax eats sorcerers right after doing his calistenics - he likes to have them with eggs :D

I'm answering this here, outside of PMs and such because I want to insure that everyone is on the same page here. You bring up concerns and thoughts any player can have with this stuff.
Lanilee wasn't on your list.
In the house rules, it is mentions that you can ask the GM to start a relationship with an NPC. Not every possible relationship is announced, though I do make an effort to announce to more probable ones. You guys may find NPCs I plan on being in the background to be interesting and worth investing time in (usually for RP reasons). This is to be a fully interactive effort. So, again, if anyone wants to form a relationship for any reason, you have only to ask if its possible.
I had expected something beside Lanilee running right off with her juicy gossip. I'm assuming you mean you, as a player, given the pronoun use. This is the interesting part about RP, especially when we do deeper relationships with NPCs. Given the fact that you don't have all the knowledge that I do about the NPCs (Their backgrounds, outside relationships, motivations, etc) and that RP'ing various personalities is an extremely subjective affair at best, there's a TON of rooms for misunderstandings and the such. (and to make matters worse, I usually cannot explain the way I play the NPCs in those situations in most circumstances without giving out some very meta information).
On the bright side, real life is kinda like that. Unlike combat which pretty much works out certain ways (random dice rolls aside, you expect a level 8 guy to beat a level 1), relationships are nigh impossible to predict completely even in the best of circumstances. Part of reason is that we all hide secrets from one another. The other part is that we don't always do a great job communicating and understanding one another.
Another thought...your character may do something that he believes is right, and in doing so tick off the very person he's trying to win over. A great example was the paladin in our Jade Regent group who killed a very evil wolf. Because of the manner he killed the beast, without knowing it, it later led to him upsetting the very lady NPC he was trying to woo. Yet, he was basically doing what his alignment and training told him to do. In his eys he did nothing wrong. On some days, it feels that no good deed goes unpunished.
Thankfully, in our game, that's ultimately not the case overall for the most part. If you're trying to win someone over who is good (in the game, anyway), and you act with kindness, mercy, etc (and throw in a measure of thoughtfulness) Tou will eventually become great friends. Don't let the occasional misunderstandings discourage you. (You only dropped from 8 to 6 with Ameiko...still within friends territory).
Meg's feeling pretty ill-used
He should. Lanilee obvious did some damage to one of his friends using information he gave her in fulfilling a promise. It was kinda mean, no matter how you look at it.
Lanilee looks worse of a dead end than Jubrayl
Perhaps. It's pretty clear that Lanilee and Jubrayl are not your model citizens. Lanilee clearly has no love for Ameiko (easily concluded based on her actions causing so much harm) and Jubrayl has no love for your friend, Sheriff Belor. It does not mean, however, that nothing useful will ever come out of those pursued relationships. You might be surprised! Adversaries sometimes know more about your friends than you do. And even the more evil people in life look out for those they truly care about.

![]() |

Bear in mind Meg you could have a competitive relationship with L rife with insults!
As for Ameiko, just do what I do in real life when I've upset my gf for some unknown reason....
<Adopt posture of a completely broken man>"Just tell me whatever you want me to say to make it better and ill repeat it back to you."
Or...
"How much is it going to cos me to make everything ok?"
:p

Zeriax |

Well, from my part, Lanilee has bitten off more than she will be able to chew - she'll regret crossing us.

Zeriax |

Welcome by the way Hardegon ;)

Megekki |

I'm guessing this puts off the Saturday thing?
Hardegon, no stress, you're doing fine. Advanced weirdness like rolling dice and OOC colors...
pretend the { } are [ and ]
to roll a d20 with a +3 bonus, type in:
{dice}d20+3{/dice}
and when you 'preview' or 'submit', it will become a die roll:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
{b} and {/b} are Bold
{i} and {/i} are italics
{ooc} and {/ooc} are this odd shade of blue
And there's a button under the edit window, labelled "How to format your text", with even more gizmos.
Welcome aboard.

As most of you know, in the other game, we're having a small issue tracking magic items, it seems. I really like to try to keep this simple.
So, here's the current list.
+1 Arrows of Bane Vs. Goblinoid x 18
3 Potions Cure Moderate Wounds
Scroll of Dispel Magic x2
Bracers of Armor +2
Everyone has until the end of the day to speak up for what he wants. If more than one wants an item, then either one of you allows the other to have it, or you roll for it.
Items not spoken for will be sold for party gold at then end of day, no exceptions. I'm not a big fan of going back at all...so we will resolve these things within a day, I'll email myself the results, and it will show up on your PDF by that weekend. You have a few days after each weekend to double check your PDF. If something is missing, email me the quote from the forum where you claimed it and I'll get it fixed. As per my house rules, if there's a mistake on your character sheet that you did not catch, you could very well lose out on that forever. So, please make sure you review your sheets on a weekly basis, especially after level up choices and receiving important items.
Thanks.

Megekki |

Megekki insists the scrolls be kept among the spellcasters. Toward that end, I claim both. I will yield to any other who wants one.
Megekki suggests the warriors and mage carry the healing potions. Toward that end, I claim none. I will not accept their sale, however.
We are gearing up for Mage Armor to be the usual. The Bracers might be less important because of that. We should probably sell them, but they are surely useful to Emrys, Meg, or Zeriax. Meg's case for them: The breastplate ACP is a big hit on skills he has no bonus for, and he can't cast Witch spells without ASF% while wearing it. Also he's gearing up for disguise as a method, and a steel breastplate works against. So Meg putting in a claim on these, but he can be talked out of them, for sure.
The arrows go to Zeriax, with some potential for sharing later recognized.

Zeriax |

I accept the arrows :D
As for the bracers, they are much more useful than mge rmor, since mage armor will be the 1 hour kind - bracers of armor +2... damn, those are worth some cash...
I will defer on the bracers to someone else as the group sees fit, though I have my greedy side screaming in my head "Take them!! You are the one without any armor!!" :D
Thing is Megekki, will you be using those bracers at all? I mean, you will get what? AC12 with them? Worth it? :O
For Zeriax, those may actually get him on the first line... Ponders*

Megekki |

I agree Z has a better claim. Best claim, even.
I just would have been negligent if I didn't express the other factors in Meg's claim.
Yeah, AC12 is weak. Funny how if you don't have something to start, a lot of bonuses aren't worth having. If one can't make a meal of it, one ought keep hunting. Meg will stick with the breastplate for combat, and go unarmored/magearmored when disguised. This will steer him away from combative Witch spells in combat deployments.

Megekki |

Let's also make sure that the books make the rounds. I saw it written they were read, so did we get past the 'trap' we suspected on the one book?
The rank of KN:Religion from the other book is of particular interest to those of us with Kn:Religion as a Class Skill, and no Int to speak of (me). :)

![]() |

I think Z should take the bracers based on the fact he will soon be a frontliner. Plus mage armor will still be useful just not all the time. The rest of the items im not too interested in so im happy for them to be divided or sold. Id like a scroll of dispel magic to scribe into my book though.

Megekki |

That did not occur to me. Let's keep both scrolls until at least the best of us mage-likes has it scribed. Better for you to do it. Meg can learn it from a scroll, but has good chance to fail a DC 18 spellcraft. Meg's SC is +7, I expect yours is... 3 class, 3 INT, 3 ranks, 9?
Anyway, let's capture that spell into the party, for sure.

Zeriax |

I believe I have already been blessed by this loot too much - I agree that Hardegon should get one CMW.
Yay on the +1 to Knowledge (Religion) ;)

![]() |

Zeriak: +1 Arrows of Bane Vs. Goblinoid x 18
Zeriax, Emrys, and Hardegon: 3 Potions Cure Moderate Wounds
Emrys, Megekki: Scroll of Dispel Magic x2
Zeriak: Bracers of Armor +2
Everyone: +1 Religion Knowledge. Sold afterwards.
Megekki: Arcane Lock'd Hollowed out book filled with all the broken glass shards from the glassworks, and used like a scrying bowl.

ROFL

![]() |

Good news.
As most of you know, we are playing this not only for the fun of the Adventure Path, but to also qualify for PFS Chronicle sheets. In fact, we may be less than a month away from getting the first one.
The good news is that Mike Brock announced that they are going to work on retroactively integrating other Adventure Paths, as well. I'm super happy about that idea. If we happen to get through RotRL, and we want to do another, we'll have plenty to choose from (Jade Regent and Shattered Star and natural follow ups to this one).
If you're interested in PFS, there were a number of other interesting things mentioned. Check out the "Know Direction" podcast for more information.

I will be unable to post for at least the first half of tomorrow and then some. Please finalize your questions for the imp before then.
I've updated all the PDFs. I've posted everything y'all emailed me, but I didn't have time to do an audit to make sure you got everything. Moving forward, I'd like for you all to have quick discussion on this forum when you run across items. Decide quickly who gets it, or if you want to sell it. I'll email myself and add it on the next weekend. Again, you need to review your sheets on a weekly basis to insure that it actually shows o nthere. Let's leave no item behind. Thanks.
Oh, and I got everyone the +1 Know: Religion from the book on their sheet.

Moving this here.
We can't not plan, and then have a good plan. There's magic in this world, but it's not that kind.
I was not talking about how good or bad the plan was. (Actually, I did talk about that, I said my plan was bad.) My intent was to speak to that I talk too much, so it gets listened to less.
And that's not directed at any one person, we all miss things. But when all we have is the words, we have to use them, and read them.
Some of mine are not being read. So I have to send fewer words.
I thought I expressed that Meg would go first, judge the bridge, and signal how many should try it next. Now Meg's alone on one side (the bad part of my bad plan), Zeriax is alone on the other (probably the best part of any plan), and three of us are hanging by our fingernails.
And I think it's my fault. Sorry.
