Kalim are you casting defensively?
Malcolm you don't get the extra attack and a move in the same round. The extra attack happens when you make a full round action. You can only take a 5 ft step with a full round action. Moving to Z:9 would have been a move action.
Malcolm moves 10 feet and hacks at the troop leader, who crumbles to the ground.

Understood...I was not sure because the enemy is in a half space on the board. I thought maybe I could reach with a five foot.
You still killed him. As far as the half space, when I add the grid line and coordinates on map tools each round it sometimes makes small adjustments.

A sheet of stone forms over the passage to the north, continuing the the east and rising ten feet up from the edge of the cliff. Smooth and unbroken, it blends seamlessly into he surrounding rock faces as if it had always been there.
9 5' squares at 2" thick. Should cover the passage leading north, then continue east blocking the archers to a height of 10'.
