Malcolms first attack hits AA:-9, but his second attack missed. The goblin is still up after the first strike. Malcolm already committed to reverse cut the second adversary near Karnog and he hacks that one down that was previously wounded from the Mephit attacks.

The first two attacks miss. (possibly the third) Purbok is certainly recognizable in his darkened full plate and heavy shield. His shield and armor is emblazoned with unholy symbols.
