Thank you very much, and I will keep Chasik in the ready for the "arc" that was discussed earlier...
Quick question: I gain 3 xp and 4 pp, so does that mean I auto level since I was level 2 (0/3xp)?

sweeeettt...:) Shopping may be difficult, but the leveling will be easy lol

Chasik is all leveled up as well...I now have 4212gp to spend...hmmm what to buy what to buy lol
I wish we would have found that golem earlier for the BBEG fight, I think it may have gone easier lol
Choamski

Invisibility, incorporeal and poison, oh my.
A little nausea and ability damage on side.
Fatigued you say? No way!
Now we are panicked and hide...
Chasik"Bash"
|
Hmmm...
How does this sound: 4212gp
buy +1 full plate -2650gp
buy +1 Heavy Steel Shield -1170
(2) Oil Magic Weapon -100gp
sell scale mail +25gp
317 gp left...AC 18 becomes AC 23
Anyone know why potions of enlarge person are 150gp and not 50, since it is a 1st level spell with no special components?
Choamski

I thought they changed that. That was a holdover from 3.5.
Source?

Lol.
Sadly, clerics are no longer proficient in heavy armor, like in the old days.
Selling: Morningstar
Buying:
Morningstar
Bolt (Crossbow/Cold Iron), 10
Cloak of Resistance, +1
Darkwood Buckler, Consecrated
Darkwood Buckler, upgrade to +1
Mace, Heavy
Masterwork Agile Breastplate, upgrade to +1
Platinum Rings (2) for Shield Other
Scroll (Bless), 1 (replacement)
Scroll (Know the Enemy), 2
Scroll (Lesser Restoration), 1
Scroll (Obscurring Mist), 1
Weapon Blanch (Ghost Salt)
Total: 3660 gp; 73.58 gp left.
I only bought one scroll of lesser restoration so people might want to pick up one of their own. (No one got back to me on whether I should buy a scroll of 5 for 2 PP or just save them.)
I bought the platinum rings for Shield Other (well, so far). We could figure out who it would best to form that link with, if we go that way. One problem is that I would have to remain within 30 ft of the person for the whole time (up to 3 hours) and I only move 20 ft and tend not to act close to the top of the round. :-\

So, I was thinking about a Wand of Protection from Evil for 2 PP. It seems it would be of some help, especially to our frontline fighters.
Are people saving PP or are we going to mostly rely on group funds for a raise dead?
Kort Drakovich
|
True to my inner Shadow Dragon, I'm hoarding - both PP and gp. I have a strong, burning requirement for some item of see-in-the-dark, and a serious yen for a robe of arcane heritage. Both of those are big ticket items, So I'm going to be hoarding my little pennies. And sleeping on them.
Choamski
|
Why, oh why, does Kort not speak gnomish?
Choamski

I like to have casters put a shield spell in a cracked vibrant purple prism ioun stone when I play a monk.
You, however, are not playing a monk.
Rellen Horatio Marn
|
I am looking at the +1 to a skill stones, between 200gp and 400gp. Seems pretty fair to me, and is more rules legit than say paying 55gp for a masterwork greased cloak as an acrobatics tool or the like - I really wish PFS would properly address the masterwork tool rules and simply make a list of those applicable to none crafty professiony skills, etc.
Knorrin, going to take you up on your Masterwork Transformation offer for my Greatsword if that is okay :) Which I'll achieve on herolab by simply selling my greatsword at full value and buying a masterwork one.
Rellen Horatio Marn
|
Picking up a Wand of Longstrider - irked that I had forgotten its personal - if anyone has UMD or has it on their spell list they are very welcome to make use of it. How are we on charges for the cure wands? I would like to chip in my share, but I'd also like to start saving for Rellen's inevitable demise!
Knorrin
|
Kort - Didn't your mother tell you what would happen if everybody hoarded their gp and PP? :-P
~~
Knorrin hereby casts his magic over Rellen's heirloom greatsword, consuming magical reagents in value - almost miraculously - equal to the difference in value between a greatsword and masterwork greatsword. "The universe works in mysterious ways, indeed."
Rellen, The purchase probably isn't set in stone yet, isn't? Not until the next adventure starts, right? I was considering backing out of buying my shield upgrade and going for a Wand of Protection from Evil.
I have 36 charges left in my Wand of CLWs.
Rellen Horatio Marn
|
No its not, but really at an hour per level its a +10ft speed item for 2PP which is a pretty sweet deal. I was just hoping I could speed up everyone with it.
Currently I'm agonizing over whether I ought to purchase medium armour, I don't think I'm going to bother, AC would still be lousy and I would rather be able to tumble to avoid hits and be that little bit faster. Probably save for a mithral breastplate.
Knorrin
|
I was thinking that if I got the Wand I could boost a few you and Chasik before many of the battles with +2 AC/+saves each, if only for a minute.
A round of mage armors might be good, too, as precautionary protection against incorporeal undead: +4 to the AC of 6 people for an hour for the equivalent of 90 gp wand value seems like a pretty good deal.
Choamski
|
So my modest shopping list:
scrolls of true strike x2 (50), magic weapon (x1) (25), bless (x2) (50), see invisibility (150), lesser restore (150); potion of jump (50), smog pellet (40), potion of feather step (50), weapon blanch: ghost salt (200), air crystal (50), antitoxin (50), antiplague (50),
bodybalm (25), bloodblock (25), clear ear x2 (30), smelling salts (25), potion of remove sickness (50), stillgut (50), wolfsbane x2 (1 gp),
alchemical grease x2 (10), vermin repellant x2 (10), weapon blanch: adamantine (100), tanglefoot bag (50), repeating bolts x5 (5), oil of bless weapon (50), universal solvent (50) and one handy haversack to carry all this junk (2000)
Rellen Horatio Marn
|
I think I'm going to start playing up stuff that covers the relatively short time we take to cover these levels. So before we begin I'll have Rellen drink antiplague, antitoxin, chew a barbarian chew and smear himself in alchemical grease and vermin repellant, and probably rub armour ointment on his armour. It might cost 110gp, but that's an awful lot of protection for 1 hour, and just gets to be a better deal as we level.
I'm also purchasing a Traveler's Anytool and a Wayfinder - mainly because I wanted some magic items :)

Or instead I could go... 4212
Buy +1 full plate = -2650gpBuy masterwork heavy steel shield = -170
Sell heavy steel shield = +10
Buy 2 oil magic weapon = 100
Buy 2 blade guard = -80
Buy +1 cloak resistance = -1000
Sell scale mail = +25
Buy 2 potions enlarge person = -100

You may change whatever purchases you made until the start of the next adventure, which I'm thinking of starting on Sunday if it's alright with everyone.
You're right Rellen, in PFS you can't buy a scroll/wand/potion with a non-minimal caster level unless it is specifically found on a Chronicle Sheet. I'm sorry Wizzy, but Vanish scroll/potion/wand has to be Clvl 1st.
As far as cheap potions/oils are concerned, I'm a big fan of oils of bless weapon, a first-level paladin spell that allows a coated weapon to bypass DR/good for only 50 gp.
Chasik"Bash"
|
Sunday sounds fine, will have my final purchases done by then. Advice on 3rd level feat. Was thinking Furious Focus (negate penalty for PA), or maybe Iron Will to shore up my crappy will save lol. Other thoughts and ideas. I did my main goal which was take a crapload of punishment, and I got 40 HP + diehard so..should I start focusing on attacking and damage?
Knorrin
|
@GM Lithrac, Sunday sounds good to me.
~~
@Rellen, Oh, I am going to buy some alchemical grease. I didn't know about that. I already have an antitoxin and antiplague, so those do seem a good choice as preventatives.
Vermin repellant has the possible downside of smelling so bad, which might help give one away - although we aren't the steathiest of parties.
Bladeguard might be a good one for you to add to your list.
Choamski
|
So the main problem I still see outstanding... and not sure how to fix it.. we still lack flight in the party, and we are getting to the point where we might need to worry about it.
Someone could pop the 2 pa for a potion of fly or 2 scrolls, but that is pretty painful at the moment. Urgh..
Did we want to do a common party battle language?
Knorrin
|
We lack fight? Rellen and Chasik are doing pretty well! (This is the highest I've made it in this type of game - in modern times, at least - and so I don't have much to suggest.)
I think the party battle language is a good idea, although it isn't something that I would be good at creating, I don't think.
Edit: I'm also always taking suggestions about spell choices - now including 2nd level! - and feat and equipment choices. (Should we do the Shield Other?) I plan to do Extra Channel since I have selective channeling and I'm fine with being the healer.
Choamski
|
I meant all take a common exotic language, like shadowtongue or nagaji, so we can yell in combat without being overhheard.
Choamski
|
I believe that +1 armor is always available, as per the pfs guide.
Chasik"Bash"
|
I thought that I had to have a fame score high enough to buy it, since the total cost would be 2650 (1500 base + 1000 magic + 150 MW)? Or am I wrong?

Spoilered Text:
Always Available Items
You may always purchase the following items or
equipment so long as you’re in an appropriately sized
settlement (see above).
• All basic armor, gear, items, and weapons from Chapter
6 of the Core Rulebook, including Small and Large-sized
items. This does not include equipment made from
dragonhide, but it does include equipment made from
the other special materials, such as alchemical silver
and cold iron (see the Special Materials section on
page 154 of the Core Rulebook). All mundane (completely
nonmagical) weapons, armor, equipment, and
alchemical gear found in any other source that is legal
for play are considered always available.
• +1 weapons (2,000 gp + 300 for the masterwork weapon
cost + item cost)
• +1 armor (1,000 gp + 150 for the masterwork armor cost
+ item cost)
• +1 shields (1,000 gp + 150 for the masterwork armor
cost + item cost)
Potions and oils of 0- or 1st-level spells at caster level
1st (50 gp or less)
• Scrolls of 0- or 1st-level spells at caster level 1 (50 gp
or less)
• Wayfinder (50% discount—250 gp; see page 299 of The
Inner Sea World Guide)
Beyond the gear noted above, your character is restricted
to purchasing additional items from his accumulated
Chronicle sheets, or by capitalizing on his fame. Weapons,
armor, equipment, magic items and so on that are outside
of these lists are not available for purchase at any time.

Rellen should be ready to go, I just picked up a Wayfinder and upgraded a great many weapons to masterwork as well as armour. I am a bit worried about AC, but Rellen's more striker than tank, I considered an agile breastplate, but not being able to tumble in it put me off.
I don't really want to purchase a set of magic armour I will quickly outgrow, but a mithril breastplate would require 18 fame which seems a long way off. Is there any way to tumble in medium armour?
Knorrin
|
Well, mithral breastplate would be accessible now, too, in my reading. As Choamski copied, "... but it does include equipment made from
the other special materials, such as alchemical silver and cold iron (see the Special Materials section on page 154 of the Core Rulebook)".
So, you can get it because it is mithral - just a "special material". You could even get it as +1. The trick would be affording it. Is that what you meant?
Rellen Horatio Marn
|
No, I was incorrectly assuming I would need the fame to purchase the mithral version. Excellent! Thanks for pointing that out Knorrin. I think I've got my next purchase locked in as a Mithral Agile Breastplate then, for 4400gp but it ought to see Rellen through his entire career, then I'll probably pick up a few fun items before beginning to amass a selection of +1 Bane weapons.
Chasik"Bash"
|
I took the feat "Fast Healer", so every time I am healed, whether via heal skill or magic I gain + 1/2 con extra so an extra 2 HP :). Then if I can get to level 4, I will take weapon specialization :)

Discussion thread for part III is up. Let's continue the discussion there while we wait until tomorrow for the game to start.
