Hey GM, I've recently completed running The Fall of Plaguestone for my home group, and in the treasure (no spoilers here), there is an item that I have wanted for Wonky (but wasn't in existence).
The Alchemical Crossbow. Now, it's a PF2 item, but would you let Wonky try to co-opt this wonderful thing for her stonebow?
See below:
ALCHEMICAL CROSSBOW
ITEM 1×
UNCOMMON
ALCHEMICAL
Identify Alchemy (Crafting) DC 17
Price 25 gp
Usage held in two hands; Bulk 2
This crossbow can deliver alchemically infused bolts. The strange weapon has a metal bracket mounted on the side of the stock near the lath. As an action, you can load a single lesser alchemical bomb into the bracket; this bomb must be one that deals energy damage (such as an acid flask, alchemist’s fire, bottled lightning, frost vial, or thunderstone). The next three attacks made with the crossbow deal 1d6 damage of the bomb’s damage type in addition to the crossbow’s normal damage. If the second and third attacks are not all made within 1 minute of the first attack, the bomb’s energy is wasted. These attacks never deal splash damage or other special effects of the bomb and are not modified by any abilities that add to or modify a bomb’s effect. The addition of the bracket serves to unbalance the weapon, reducing its range to 30 feet. It otherwise functions as a crossbow (when determining damage, reload, and so on). Creatures use their crossbow proficiency when using the alchemical crossbow. The alchemical crossbow costs 25 gp.

I’m happy to roll for loyalty vs unrest. (Forgot what bonus to roll though, aside from my STR mod being part of that.)
A farm works. (VV would like a rose garden to make up a small corner of that, if that can be tacked on without defeating the purpose. Not sure if trying to beautify a farm comes with a BP penalty or something.)

We could make that trade to get 2 BP and maybe even start creating a military force of some sort. (How many BP does that need?)

There are some holes in the kingdom-building rules for creating army units (primarily the initial cost of recruiting and equipping them), but I will do my best to fill them in.
A small (50-strong) army of Human Warriors will cost 1 BP initially and 1 BP per month to upkeep. This is essentially a basic militia.
A small (50-strong) army of Human Fighters will cost 1 BP initially and 2 BP per month to upkeep. This is essentially a company of men-at-arms.

I would vote to use the 2 BP from selling off treasure to make the basic militia.

I’m happy to roll, but I believe the Vixen rolls loyalty. That and I don’t know what number to roll.
I suppose I can roll in a spoiler and you can add the bonus to my raw d20 if it applies.

Posting in all my games: I might miss stuff between now an Monday. If my character is needed, feel free to prod me via Discord PM. (Every game I’m in has at least one person who can reach me on Discord.)
PS~ Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it! To the rest, I hope you at least balance the lack of feast by not having to rake leaves.
PPS~ Extra Happy Thanksgiving to those who both celebrate Thanksgiving and don’t have leaves to rake!

Hey everyone.
I'm going to be going away for the upcoming week to THE PLACE WITHOUT INTERNET. I will be out of signal from tomorrow morning (about 24hrs from the time of this post) until a time 7 days later.
In the interim, I hope you all eat all the yummies, drink all the drinkies, celebrate all the happies, but most importantly, get ready to say GOOD RIDDANCE to this wet fart of a year.
Many cheers.

Hi everyone.
I'm very sorry for disappearing like that. I've been pretty sick for the past few weeks, and at this point don't expect to start feeling better anytime in the immediate future. Therefore I'm dropping out of all my games. (Which I had unofficially done anyway I guess.)
Again, I'm very sorry I didn't say anything sooner, I just kept hoping things would get better and I'd be able to rejoin. It was great playing with you all, and I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you for playing with us, Eunomia. I certainly hope things get better for you.
If you find yourself feeling better and up for playing again, we'll keep a seat on the council for you. Fare thee well.

Eunomia, I'm very sorry to hear of your unwell state. I wish you nothing but good health and a better 2021. Add that wish to all of you!
I have returned early! I'll consider a post as I read on...

A message for all my games:
My apartment's internet connection went out two days ago, and it will not be fixed until Sunday at the earliest.
(I am borrowing a friend's WIFI to post this).
I will resume posting updates once my connection is repaired, but in the meantime, I will be out of contact.
My apologies for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.

Happy New Year!
Let’s celebrate by having all the PCs roll d21s!
On a serious note, good luck with connectivity issues. As a teacher, that’s basically my Tuesday. (Students with bad connections. And it was me once, come to think of it!)

The Vermilion Vixen |

@GM, if you want to move the scene forward that’s fine. VV addressing what students can be gathered in a spoiler since it wouldn’t change who rides with us.
I imagine the timeline would be: VV and/or Wonky could get Melianse, then VV can address her students (while Wonky/Ahto make their own pre-travel preparations), then we ride.

A few questions:
Do we have access to government funds for our travel expenses?
Assuming funds are available, how much? Could we, for example, purchase a carriage and team of horses, on the understanding that it is a 'government vehicle'?
If no public funds are available, that's fine. I just thought I'd ask.
We had spoken about badges of office, and a crown (or something of the sort) made from the weird green metal. Did those get completed, or did it never get past the speculative phase?
I also seem to recall that we were each being rewarded with a masterwork weapon that was being custom made for us in Restov, but I don't recall those arriving. Did we ever get those?

DM Vayelan |

Adapting one of the kingdom building rules to address the matter of traveling expenses, you can withdraw from the treasury at an exchange rate of 1 BP = 2,000gp of funds
Regarding the badges of office and crown, I will say that they were completed. Between Wonky's enthusiasm and Taured the smith's desire to demonstrate his skill, the design and production were likely fast tracked.
Lastly, yes, the masterwork weapons arrived from Restov shortly before the party decides to travel to Uringen.

Wonky would have requested a masterwork silver dagger to go along with her masterwork cold iron sickle. Hopefully that's not too crazy of an ask.
As far as the badge goes, I found "Badge of Korvosa" in HeroLab, so I added that with the caveat that this is for Tamlyn, not Korvosa.

Is there any interest in purchasing a carriage (100 gp), a team of four light horses (300 gp), 2 driver/guards 3 sp/day, and perhaps some
official Councilor's Robes for everyone (Noble's outfits 75 gp each, or Royal outifts for 200 gp each)?
I'm thinking there's going to be a bit of "looking the part" necessary on our diplomatic mission, but I also don't want to spend the money if the rest of you don't feel it warranted.

"An' how'd you get that carriage, eh? By exploitin' the workers -- by 'angin' on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic an' social differences in our society!"

I, again, want to crow my appreciation for the laid-back tone to this game. It's bucolic and refreshing.
Thanks everyone.

The Vermilion Vixen |

Sounds good to me. They seem particularly interested in this AP, so as long as 2 or 3 of them don’t mind joining in a campaign already started, this is a good place to look!

![]() |

Well, a bit of creative collusion might inspire more offered submissions.
I think we should definitely get a rogue/martial type of character.

DM Vayelan |

I was thinking about making a post in our campaign's recruitment thread for the potential new players in that interest thread.
Besides a rogue/martial character, do you guys have any other input, requests, or preferences?
Because of Eunomia and Harmond's departure, should we also seek an arcane caster?
