It has been waaay too long since I've seen that movie. I definitely was getting those vibes though!

Are we utilizing a map in this instance?

Hurray!

*looks up coven spells*
*looks at pitiful Will save*
Haha, I'm in danger...
But for real, I'm going to be very sad if Katrine can't participate in the hag fight because she's been charmed. :(

I just accepted a new job today. So… shorter commute, but I will likely not post during lunch due to (1) lousy internet connection and (2) me being the new guy.
@Katrine, VV probably made herself a target from her failed attempt to stop the spell. And her will save isn’t much better than yours!
The Vermilion Vixen
My Will Save was more like a Won’t Save.
60% chance of failing that, but at least the roll was so horribly low, I can’t say “darn I was so close.” Now it’s just “darn.”
Pelipe Lightdriver
Yeah, that's a fail, even with the +5 you get for it being cast in combat. Well, fortunately, you just see them as friends, not as a mindless slave doing their bidding. You can see the coven as your allies, as they all cast the spell, but the big ugly guy and the little kid definitely aren't your friends. Now if they press you to attack us by a charisma check, you get a bonus, but just don't fail that and we should be good!
Katrine Thalian
Poor Vixen! And this is going to last for several days. Hopefully we can goad the hags into making an AoE attack that hits her and breaks the spell.
Given that Althea agreed to help us under Ahto's detect lies, I think the Tamlyn folks would have left her unbound with all her gear.
EDIT: You know... I wonder if Vixen's split personality might help her break free? Or would charm monster get both of them?
Pelipe Lightdriver
I'm not sure. Vigilantes are weird. I know some classes give "Dual Mind" bonuses in such cases, but I'm not sure if they get that.
Pelipe Lightdriver
VV, the spell doesn't dominate you. You don't become a mindless slave. You are still your character, you just perceive their words in the friendliest way possible. They can force you to do something you don't want to do only with a charisma check. They wanted you to go away from them, but that could have been toward the giant lumbering to kill your friends or toward the girl who led us here to betray us. I could see VV doing something as their order was only to get away from them. You are only seeing and hearing the Strouds as allies, not the little girl or the hulk. That said, now that Pelipe has shaken her up, she can do all sorts of things to help follow what the Strouds asked and yet still aid her companions. With Pelipe asking her to help, even if they give her an order to stay put, now you have a chance to break the spell.
Katrine Thalian
Yeah, I think you could probably go after the giant or the enemy changeling(s?). They're not part of the coven who cast the spell. The undead elk is kind of a gray area, since Vixen saw the hags animate it after she got charmed.
@Ahto, make a 5 ft step on your next turn and you'll have a flanking buddy! Storm might need to roll high in order to make a dent in the giant, but at least he can give you a flank.
The Vermilion Vixen
Oh, that’s a relief. I would like GM confirmation on what I can/can’t do. Attacking the hags is out, of course. If I can attack the giant, I will gladly do that!
But definitely, I want a GM post to say that Pelipe’s words bolster VV, even though she can’t _____. Without confirmation, I won’t feel comfortable posting like “hey, y’know that spell I natural-oned my save on? Well… my character feels like defying it.”

Well, in the description for Charm Person, it says "You can try to give the subject orders, but you must win an opposed Charisma check to convince it to do anything it wouldn’t ordinarily do."
This situation brings to mind the lyrics from the English theme song for Sailor Moon: "She will never turn her back on a friend / She is always there to defend." Thus, it seems very out of character for the Vixen to ignore her allies being threatened by a very large, very kickable brute - especially one who did not cast the spell on her.
Hag Charisma Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
If the Vixen (or even Addy) can beat this opposed check, she can act against the giant.

I don't see Althea's summoned hounds on the map. Are they in the fray, GM?

VV failed, but Addy didn’t. Not sure if you meant I could roll both personas in one round, so actions are in a spoiler. I moved on the map—Acro check in the charge because of the rocky ledge. (Love those new boots!)
The Vermilion Vixen
I wouldn’t have minded a call saying Addy’s wake up call is a round later, but still, I’ll gladly take the gift!
Damage was piercing (x3 crit) with the stilettos… but VV needs a day to modify that into her new boots.
So nonlethal bludgeoning for now, with a regular x2 crit.
For new players if you don’t already know, the Take ’Em Alive talent adds to both attack and damage, as long as I attack nonlethally.

GM, I don’t think that Louhi can take a step anywhere. She is prone.

Pelipe also rolled to see if she could figure out a loophole in Ahto's wordings. I don't know if you saw that or if she just wasn't able to figure something out?
DM Vayelan

I think I overlooked that whilst I was focused on the other knowledge checks.
Pelipe recognizes that the Strouds have seized upon a loophole in the sworn oath. While they are now bound to leave Glowerhaven and Tamlyn alone, they feel free to continue taking mates and causing misery among the other lands in the River Kingdoms that border their home in the Ditches.
The Vermilion Vixen
The hags likely have a high sense-motive ability, so they might be well aware VV isn’t actually announcing a planned loophole. Her point is that once one side starts purposely twisting agreements, the other side should take it to mean the agreement was never sincere to begin with.
Pelipe Lightdriver
That was a really weird round of posts. I posted one and then remembered the rules for wand casting wrong, so I had to edit. Katrine hadn't posted, so mine was before whatever post she would have made. Then the GM posted. That's gone. Now Katrine healed Doo-dad. In any case, odd, but the deed is done. Onward to Uringen!
Katrine Thalian
I figure there's no way a dedicated hag hunter in the River Kingdoms wouldn't know about Gyronna and her worshipers. They're a nasty piece of work even for evil cultists.

@Wonky: Remember, Katrine has ranks in Craft (Leatherworking) as well as quality tools. All Wonky needs to do is ask and she'll be happy to help. :)

True. Thanks for the reminder, but Wonky wouldn’t presume to ask without looking first.

I'm going to be on a road trip for the next eleven days, starting tomorrow. I'll do my best to keep up on hotel wifi- I sure don't want to go without my Pathfinder fix that long!- but sometimes hotel wifi is unreliable. If I don't post for 24 hours, go ahead and bot me.

So last week, my 13-year-old introduced me to the word “chiaroscurist.” And now my 9-year-old introduced me to the word “gigue.”
My kids are light-years ahead of me in arts vocabulary.
