Addy would definitely trust Miss Tremaine or another talented NPC to handle it. Addy will only want to... well, I’ll PM that.

Short answer: yeah, you can work out the schedule.

Dark Archive

Female Gnome NG Investigator 4/Hunter 2 (Cryptid Scholar) hp 39/39 | AC 15* (t14;f12 *+1 AC vs traps) | CMD 16 (ff13) | F* +5 R*** +10 W** +6 (*+2 illusions **+1 if animal within 30' *** +1 vs traps) | Init +3 *Perc +6 (Darkvision)

Speaking of PMs, I’ll send a message tomorrow to iron out what Wonky and Sprocket have in store for the Crystalhue fete.

Female Human Socialite

The tent’s hilarious!

Addy is trying to fight the Vixen within, as she promised Shelyn there is no Vixen today. So a situation like this will get her to act like… well, as posted.

If there’s a combat situation, Miss Lane has her bow.

Oh… and I forgot to mention to the GM, Mother can cast Endure Elements. And yes, so her daughter can go barefoot on Crystalhue.

@GM,
Not sure how many levels of Hunter Addy’s mom “should” have, but I ran with Lv.3—same as Ash, but with an actual playable class since she’s been referred to as a ‘Huntress.’

Spell List added to profile.

If you check the profile, you’ll note that the spells are not particularly flashy. She’s built for someone who believably kept a ‘Girl Scout troop’ safe in the woods, but not like an adventurer with healing and combat magic.

Of course I can edit if need be. But mostly, I wanted to commit so I don’t come off as inventing abilities that would be convenient. Like for the current situation—maybe someone can speak with animals, but not Mrs. Lane.

And for the curious, here’s non-magical Mr. Lane. I won’t RP them, but made profiles to give an idea of what they’re like, including appearance.

All the best red-bearded avatars are dwarves, but Addy’s Daddy is human.

Female Human Socialite

Is there a magical equivalent to Ye Olde Microphone? Like a spell that amplifies voice, for example? (Or an ability. Yup... NOW it dawns on me how beneficial the Mockingbird social talent could be in this situation.)

Anyway, if there’s a player or NPC or a “wonky” device with such magic, Addy’s inquiring mind wants to know.

This missing boy is an adaptation of one of the side quests provided by the AP.

As a note, the character's original name is Tig Tannerson. However, having learned a lesson from the prior Melianse/Melicent confusion, I decided it was important to clearly differentiate this NPC from our Tyg, our favorite grig.

I also changed the family's name from Tannerson to Cooperson because they aren't related to Horace's resident tanner, Jocelyn.

Female Human Socialite

If what I’m attempting works, with all these tiny fey huddled together and timidly performing, Addy will look like one of those guest starlets on the Muppet Show.

Female Human Socialite

Nice! I was thinking like this, except Addy wouldn’t do any singing.

Addy also doesn’t look as pretty as Bernadette Peters right now, so my bluff check should be +13. That’s my normal +9, +4 for Social Grace, and there’s also an Extremely Fashionable +1 Trait, but that should not apply now that Addy’s dress is torn and kinda muddy.

Only two posts prior, I remembered not to include the trait. I also had a link with a Steve Martin quote (edited in because I saw Ahto’s post after posting mine). The mention of both actors compels me to link THIS.

Female Human Socialite

Tried to squeeze in an Artistry check, but missed the editing window. I figured Addy should have to roll something if she’s on stage.

And the bonus is high because I’m using my Lv.5 & Lv.9 Social Grace bonuses for Background Skills. (Art now, Craft @ Lv.9)

Funny that I picked Artistry first. I think my main reason for not picking Craft at the current level is that I can’t take ten to create a masterwork outfit yet, whereas at Lv.9, I can.

To be fair to the fey, those die rolls kinda matched any quartet’s ability to pull off the real Waltz of the Snowflakes, which only requires one harp, but many violins, vocals and dancers. Additionally, the singers don’t have to also dance, and a fiddle lacks the finesse of a classical violin.

Addy’s die roll, on the other hand, indicates she’s wicked awesome at being scenery!

Female Human Socialite

@Ahto (or anyone), did you want to say anything to close the ceremony?

Addy definitely will, but if anyone else intended to speak I believe she would’ve worked this out ahead of time.

I assume the Ahto/Eunomia spoiler RP takes place prior to the fireworks.

We also still need to conduct the kingdom turn for the month of Kuthona.

Do you want to claim another hex, build terrain improvements, or build town improvements?

Hey everyone. I hate to do this, but I've been super swamped with work and life since this whole Covid thing broke out, and it doesn't seem like it will die down any time soon. I just don't have the time and energy to devote to the game that it deserves. Unfortunately I think the only fair thing to do is bow out so maybe someone that has more availability will be able to play. It was tons of fun! <3

Aw, man... sorry to see you go, but understandable. Good luck with work, and stay healthy!

Awfully sorry to see you go, Harmond - but maybe that means we won’t have to deal with your Urgathoan mother!

In all honesty, this game is a much more relaxed game and pace than many games I’m involved in. I’d advise you to not say goodbye, but maybe put yourself on hold for now? It would be really cool to have you come back in and out of the campaign, if you’d like.

A thought only. You need to do what you feel is best. We love having you. Be well and true to you.

I would like to echo Wonky's suggestion of putting Harmond on NPC status for the time being. If you find the energy and desire to come back, you can pick up Harmond where you left off.

Indeed! We would love to have you return to us at some point. No rush, obviously. We'll keep your seat at the council table open for you.

Fun fact, non-TMI version: my own wedding was also an 18-hour event, starting with Chinese wedding traditions at dawn, and the banquet lasted until about midnight—dance floor crowded until the end! (I’m proud of this fact because in HK, at least at the Chinese weddings I’ve been to, people don’t dance at all.)

On a completely different note, (and despite what Eunomia just said), I did not actually take the day of my wedding off work. My wife and I eloped at the courthouse and got takeout as our celebratory dinner. Ah, the joys of not having to worry about wedding planning...

Eunomia Verto wrote:
Ah, the joys of not having to worry about wedding planning...

Oh, right! That’s the practical reason I made Addy’s wedding small! She and Ash don’t have time to plan a wedding. (Mine was 15 months after proposing.)

• The other IC reason: Addy’s trauma from the last big wedding she was at.
• And the OoC reason: Crystalhue is already targeted plot for Addy.

I already had the covenant rings with Addy when we reached Lv.5. I had no idea the winter solstice was the following month at the time. Once Ash mentioned “winter solstice” in game, and with both the fey relations and plans to have Addy marry Ash freshly in play, connecting Crystalhue to it all just made sense.

@DM, thanks for all the craziness surrounding Crystalhue. I was expecting something much shorter, and not a huge day that is basically the main event (or series of events!) for the month. I loved it!—including guilty spoiler peeks so I could know what my character doesn’t, for entertainment’s sake!

@GM,
Could you remove the following characters from the game?
• Addy Lane
• Vermilion Vixen (without the “The”)

Of course, please not NOT remove:
• Mrs. Addison L. Kavinka
The Vermilion Vixen

I’m just trying to clean up my games so only relevant characters are seen. Between familiars, dual personas and a fox-shaping kitsune, I already have a 2:1 avatar-to-campaign ratio with just the correct avatars!

I was reading about various River Kingdoms to think of possible neutral meeting-places, and my first thought upon seeing Uringen was 'Oh my gods this place is basically heaven for Wonky.' A fey forest! Alchemical ingredients that can be found nowhere else! Half the town is randomly unstuck in time for mostly unknown reasons!

I don't know how feasible a trip to Uringen actually is, but now I desperately want this to happen and will argue for it both in and out of character.

This could be the thing that Wonky needs to kickstart her search for her father’s cure.

I started reading up on Uringen, and I immediately thought of some ways to also incorporate other plot threads from the AP.
I don't know how soon such a trip could be arranged, but I would have no objections.

I enjoyed writing my part. VV lacks Diplomacy, so I thought I’d try an unorthodox approach.

I wrote:
I swam against currents and leapt across wet stones for pure joy.

Some irl truth here.

Once when I was 12, I made some daring jumps on wet stones at Rocky Gorge (White Mountains, NH). For some stones, I had to kick off one to get to the next because they were wet and pointy, and/or there was only about a fist-sized portion above water. When I made it across the river, there were a couple dozen people on the bridge clapping for me. I was in my own world and had no idea people were watching.

For the return trip, I used the bridge.

Last year (in Cape Cod, MA), my youngest daughter, who had just got out of her swimmies/floaties a week earlier, kept swimming against a current off my uncle’s boat. My uncle has had to rescue adults who were swept away from their own boats. Of course there were life guards (me, wife, aunt), ropes, rafts and all that, and all children wore life vests. But my little one kept kicking away, and didn’t need my assistance. She must have bested that current 20 times. Each swim was a distance of ten feet, but that’s like saying you move zero feet on a treadmill.

She slept in my lap on the boat ride home.

Anyone know the approximately page where we fought and defeated the Stag Lord? Was it before or after the wyvern? I have been looking for a while now, and can't seem to narrow in on it.

Here is where the Stag Lord was executed.

Having been ousted by his lieutenants with the support of Baroness Thrune's mercenaries, the injured and feverish Stag Lord showed up half-dead at the trading post's gate. When his identity was finally discovered, he was tried and executed by Ahto.

This happened shortly before the bandit army, along with its wyvern backup, besieged the trading post.

@DM, I’m assuming VV and Wonky are still with Melianse and we’re giving time for Wonky to reply. No rush—just want to clarify I kept VV’s reply short since I felt it Wonky’s place to answer Melianse’s question. (VV only responded to the security part, since that’s VV’s thing.)

Also, now that I edited the art, I have the “Dragon Kick” as VV’s profile image. For some reason, the link to the image I had before has expired… which is weird, since it’s my own art. Oh well.
