"It is my opinion that she wants something else. It seems she has her fingers in many things. And many people she has collaborated with with the promise of power it seems. None of them she shows with particular affection toward keeping them around. I believe perhaps like a vampire wants blood, or a demon a soul, or a con artist the money, not the person, she is out for something from all of these people she uses as tools, but I cannot imagine what."
On the subject of the giant owlbears, she asks:
"A mate with a home. She was probably nesting, or getting ready for birth. If her remains are there but nothing other than the beastmaster, I wonder if there was an offspring that the remaining members of the gang took with them?" She then offers. "It might be wise to look into seeing if there were any survivors and if they had tracks that would indicate a wagon."
Then to the ring, she offers:
"As magister, I suppose it is my duty to attempt to circumvent this ring's curse. Countering an elder fae's magic might be beyond my grasp. I may need magical help with this when we return."

DM Vayelan |

"The ring is currently in possession of your high priest, the cleric of the Stag God," the pixie replies, referring to Jhod Kavken.
However, the chatter from the other fey make it apparent that other notables from Horace have also put themselves forth for the responsibility of safeguarding something so dangerous, including Barris Volklev, priest of Abadar, as well as your masked Enforcer, the Vermilion Vixen.
The fey are also energized by the prospect of mounting a rescue for potentially stolen baby owlbears, and they are suddenly eager to return to the Greenbelt to begin the search.

"Tell Father Kavken and the others guarding the ring not to use it, and to keep it from others who might wish to do so." Ahto replies. "Organize search parties to search for wagon tracks, hoof prints, footprints, or any other tail leading from the lair. Arrest any who have taken owlbear cubs or eggs and bring them to Horace to stand trial when we return. If they resist, subdue them. If they resist violently, kill them."
He turns to the rest of the group, and asks, "Do any of you wish to offer further instructions?"

Katrine Thalian |

Katrine thinks for a moment, then shakes her head. "I think you covered everything." She nods to the fey messengers. "Good luck and good hunting."

DM Vayelan |

Sorry for being absent for a while and not giving us a bump. The short explanation is surgery appointments, work reschedulings, and family issues made last week quite an ordeal, but things are more settled now.
The fey gang excitedly take flight. Whatever fatigue their first journey may have brought is dispelled by their enthusiasm to execute the official mission given to them by the Lord of Tamlyn.
With the manticore dispatched and its lair searched, once you have taken some time to rest, you are free to continue up the mountain pass and cross the tors to visit neighboring Varnhold.

"Let us continue on," Ahto says once the messengers have gone. "The sooner we conclude our business in Varhold, the sooner we can return and attend to these other matters."

It's okay. I've been busy myself with a newborn!
Pelipe grins at the enthusiasm of the fey. It is one of her fondest traits of them.
"I am ready to continue," she offers. Her efforts pain her at the moment, but considering the past and how pained she truly has been from her lingering injury, she's not all bad at the moment and may be speaking the truth. As she rides her horse forward, she keeps eye out for possible hazards and lurking dangers. Her eyes also wander toward the sky, hoping that their brief fight with the manticore did not draw the attention of their roc foe.

Katrine Thalian |

Congrats Pelipe!
Katrine nods, placing her bow back into its shoulder strap on her back. "Agreed. There's still plenty of daylight left." She whistles for Storm and makes her way back to where her horse and pack mule are waiting.

Faerin Cordova |

As the fey messengers depart, Faerin nods in agreement, setting her sights back on the mountain pass to Varnhold.
