That was when paizo was crapping itself, so I don't really feel bad about missing it.

GM Mort |

Hmm...that was actually before paizo was crapping itself. But time does pass differently for us both so...oh well. Fine I'll allow the charged dagger retcon.
You see - first time on a mistake, I'm usually willing to retcon it.
Second time mistake/rule violation, then I'll come after you like a ton of bricks.
As well as many growly noises.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Sure.
And I'm fine not retconning anything also. Just so you are aware, I work 60 hours a week and have 3 kids and health issues. And I post from my phone. At work. On a small screen.
In other words, lol, get ready for some future mistakes. But! I am really good at dodging bricks. Next time all you have to do is not retcon anything or just say so, it won't bother me, but you don't have to impugn my attention to the game accusatorily! :((
I only asked because I had just gone and caught the mistake right away when you posted the results. That's also why I asked if my char would have known better first :P

GM Mort |

I post from phone as well. Hence the occasional typos from auto correct, wrong sized minis and me yelling to Seamus to help me move stuff.
My phone screen is 7 cm wide and 13 cm long. What's yours :P
I don't have kids and health issues though.
Problem is actually throwing bricks at you would count as assault, though I'd really like to test how good you really are at dodging bricks! It'd be a great experiment!
Don't worry overly much, I dumped Dex and have a bad aim in RL so I probably wouldn't hit anyway.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Mines about 4" whatever that is in cm lol.

GM Mort |

That's about 10.16 cm. Fine, your phone is smaller then mine.
That just proves that you need a bigger phone =D
Yes, this message was brought to you courtesy of a Sony Xperia XA Ultra=)

Vincent Arazeiros |

I do need a bigger phone. Maybe I'll get a phablet haha.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Np. Also I will be going with family to a Ren faire so I'll be offline most of Friday through Monday. Feel free to bot me when needed. I'll try to check but may not always get to. Definitely no net during fair.

GM Mort |

Ren Faire! Pics! I always wanted to try archery(I'd suck at it) and see if I could squeeze myself into armor. And probably go flat since I'm small :P

Vincent Arazeiros |

Haha we go every year. Fun stuff. Archery is fun and you get the hang of it, but I have my own bow to practice with. Their range costs are a rip-off.

GM Mort |

I didn't have the strength to pull the bow the last time I tried ^^
Mind you, I did charge spellcasting services cost in Strange Aeons. Hey, Winter is an NPC, you know...
Winter can use lesser restoration on Dakash - but it's the usual spellcasting costs. Do you want to fork it out?
The party has their potion of remove disease and wand of lesser restoration actually.

GM Mort |

Howard - thanks for stepping up with lesser restoration. I don't like killing botted characters.

![]() |

Heh.
If it's actually that big, I definitely think we should be able to refill it :-P

![]() |

But I thought ambiguities in a contract benefited the party that did not draft it...?
In good faith, I was presented with a prefilled syringe, and had no reason to suspect that it could not be filled again, in the same way that a potion vial can be refilled.
After all, absence of evidence is not the same thing as evidence of absence...
;-) :-P
Heh.
Just to be clear, I am not trying to force the issue; I am just enjoying arguing :-P

GM Mort |

*Snickers at Howard happily*
As a GM I need to consider the implications of it. You could pour a potion into the mouth of a conscious person, and it would have the same effect, except you skip the Attack of opportunity part.
The only bonus you'll get is that you can pour it into the mouth of an unconscious person as a standard action possibly and you skip the attack of opportunity part as well.
You could technically do it with a syringe spear, for the same effect, but you'd need to hit normal AC, and the target would take some damage as well. I mean you could choose to non lethal the target's @ss as well instead...
Honestly it wouldn't make much difference in the large scheme of things, however I chose to rule it, right until you start saying you can inject poisons/potions of inflicted light wounds on bad guys without any attacks/touch attacks.
Hmm. I don't think I want to open that can of worms...
The ambiguities in a contract benefits the party that's trying to wiggle in the grey area and it could be either party not just the non drafting party.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Refilling a syringe is easy. I can roll a heal check if syringes are more complicated in D&D than real life :P

GM Mort |

Cant you do it from south of Claude? Oh btw because I did retcon the two handed, one handed power attack business - Claude's currently at -8.

Seamus Passeri |
Nice little raptors...
Not Claude, Seamus, what do you thing Seamus is???
Unless you meant that you thought Seamus was a raptor, then ignore this.
But if Seamus is a raptor can he take a combat class?

GM Mort |

I'm saying when you said nice little lizard...to Claude, I heard the "Nice little raptors" voice in my head.

GM Mort |

Vincent - you can't really flank, but you hit anyway. Later one of you please decide which door you want to open. Since you're now on a timer 50 min - I'm not going to do perception checks on doors.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Perception check is just one move action so I'll still check the doors. With modifiers I get (+2-1+2) +3 extra right now. Basically perception, open door if not trapped.
I say we do a sweep of the place and start in that next room where green zombie ran with beds (barracks?) and then move through the door to the north of D2 and continue around the rooms surrounding courtyard.
Edit: oh wait perception is Wis so it's +4. Know skills are at +3 due to mutagen.
I will tell "the thing" (we can talk now) to help me check the doors so that's another +2 (it has a 10 result to aid perception even on a 1).

GM Mort wrote:Because he is a melee character and doesn't have precise shot.I don't know if hitting people with your walking stick should be considered a 'melee character'
Well, to be fair, he is a magus, and his archetype is all about using his staff/walking stick, so putting him into melee seems reasonable...
If it had been Howard, on the other hand, it might have been harder to justify ;-)

LOL, noted!

GM Mort |

Yeah his archetype is ALL about smacking people with his walking stick. And if people don't want to carry a reach weapon its also up to them, though a reach weapon would take -4 unless he had phalanx formation.
And no Howard, I wouldn't bot you going in front to whack stuff.
But it is reasonable to imagine a melee character doing it, otherwise the other alternative is he sits around and delays, in which I may get another complaint that - why are you just botting him doing nothing?

![]() |

Heh. I know you wouldn't bot me doing that :-P
I was merely listing that as an example of something that would be inappropriate botting ;-)

GM Mort |

Your GM has been distracted AGAIN
I really should stop signing up for things like that(hell I don't even like doing 1000 dpr a round)
*looks pointedly at Howard*
And technically I shouldn't even be using unspeakable cheese in the presence of others. It should be done only when all hope is lost...
But it's such a guilty, guilty pleasure... It's like the Ironman and you're like, "Bring it on!"
Am I a masochist or what?
In part I'm signing up to determine if non mythic characters can stand a chance against a mythic BBEG and how immune to magic can you possibly make a character.
I'm wondering if I should have gone dwarf for steel soul.. But dwarves have Cha penalty. Or VMC paladin for 1/day smite evil and litany of righteousness abuse
The problem is I have too many things to do with my swift action, quickened divine favor, bane, studied target..etc.

![]() |

I tried to the best of my ability, to cover all bases. If there are uncovered areas, please let me know in PM.
Usually, I promise, I don't tap into do much cheese when I'm playing.. But letting it all go...feels so good.
It's like drugs...you wonder if you'll be able to stop doing it.
Yes, I'm having an existential crisis. To cheese or not to cheese?

![]() |

With great powercheese comes great responsibility!
So what kind of cheese do you want? Cheddar, Mozzarella (I love it with tomatoes BTW), Gouda, Emmental, or stinky blue? =)
But yes. Nothing is too crazy in the name of SCIENCE. And sacrifices, even to my sanity, must be made in the name of research.
But do you understand why I don't want to homebrew? Some of this cheese may come out...
And honestly I don't think most APs are going to be that over the top.

I've been doing Asiago cheese on my pizza lately, well peperoni, Mozzarella and asiago.
It doesn't appear that the 'monster' you will be fighting is 'AP' appropriate either :-)
